  • The questions were harder than today... hmmm think I'll see if any GE College Bowl shows on here too... A childrens nurse, governess?? ha ha make she to illustrate childrens books..

  • I get chills when I hear the original version of the "Think Music". This takes me back to when I was a kid, carefree, and living in New York.

  • the original Jeopardy! theme was called "Take Ten" and was composed by Merv's then wife Julann.

  • I watched it nearly every day in the 60s and 70s. It sure evokes fond memories.

    This is classic tv. Why did NBC erase the tapes?

  • They were erased because tapes of that era took up a lot of storage space and also to save money by reusing them.

  • Merv Griffin reportedly wrote the Jeopardy theme (which he entitled "The Thinking Song") in about 20 minutes and earned more than $80 million from it during his lifetime.

  • I appreciate having this available. Considering how NBC -- in its infinite wisdom -- erased all video copies of most programming, I'm grateful we can get just a few minutes of this classic program. So many memories here.
