  • note : i'm working on a really big one now

.......so wait and you'll see something .......

  • I myself have disintegrated 2 turbos now. The case does not fail, and it's far less dramatic than one would think. The first time it happend, I didn't even know. It just stopped running.

  • yep....thats exactly what i would think.

the case of those things is made of a real good quality cast iron ....

so i'm gonna keep on jetting till it breaks down, disintegrates or whatever might happen ..

  • Don't get too proud about all the heat showing in the turbine section.

You're overheating the turbine--and there's a good chance you're going to have a failure of that part in the near future.

You need to install a pyrometer and watch to see you don't exceed

established values to protect the rotating group.

One of the interesting things about these is they'll just run good, and all of a sudden they'll disintegrate. DON'T stand in the rotating plane of the turbine!!

  • hey thanx for your reaction and advise !

    i didn't realize it could disintegrate ...

i'll take care about that soon .

i couldn't find a pyrometer to measure the exhaust temp . this was the first time it did run on 8 bars butane gas ..

the sound it makes is amazing !really loud

it's made from an old mercedes benz turbo

but thanx again for the warning i'll make a thick metal plate over the turbine section to prevent things flying around in case of an failure ..... bye
