@chickitakoowan The car had more power after I cleaned the terminals because it has a stronger spark. More spark will burn the fuel better = more performance and economy.
@dgaleno2012 Not sure what kind of car you have but here are some guesses. You may have moved the distributor when you replaced the spark plugs adjusting the timing. OR... The RPMs went down after spark plug replacement because the knock sensor isn't detecting a miss fire anylonger and trying to compensate.
@dgaleno2012 Not really understanding what the problem is? What kind of car and what year? Make sure you didn't cross any of the spark plug wires, make sure they go to the appropriate cylinder.
@Vacationtime247 hey man i dont think is the spark plugs. when i move the steering wheel for example to the left when is stop my rpms drop is it normal??? so i discover that right now n went under to check my axles n discover that 1 needs to be changed but is not a big deal yet cuz if i let my steering wheel go when driving it doesnt pull to one side so u think it has to do with the axles?
@ELtee555 Traded a guy a $500 Geo Tracker for this mustang. You're right, it doesn't have the 5.0 it's got the 3.8 V6. The fenders had the 5.0 decals on there from a previous owner. It was all show & no go. That's why it's the 'cheap mustang 5.0' lol
i know your trying to help but your vid is crap, lol and project? we didnt see you do anything you skipped through everything. and anyone with common sense knows this! whats your next vid rolling up a window......windows down. skip ahead...... well windows up.........cut.
Those black cap deposits are caused by high resistance in the ignition circuit.
The better fix would be to swap the ignition module for the HEI one, and use an MSD Blaster coil + the MSD Super Conductor wires. Also, the distributor harness contacts have high resistance as well. Cleaning the cap alone will impress the prospective buyer though. But he will be stuck with the same probbies.
@mrkjsmooth23 Probably not the transmission causing that issue. My first guess would be its the fuel pump. Had cars that have done that to me in the past and it's almost always the fuel pump.
Fyi I'm not retarded.... I kno what does it do, I was talking about the 5.0l v6!!! And to save you some writing time I've been out in the field for 6 years already so I think that I've encountered this same problem quite a few times and personally I wouldn't clean the corrosion with a screwdriver... I'd use some 300 grit sandpaper or even finer than that
my passat 93 was running with a bad loss of hp and rough idle till i saw this vid n took my distributor cap off cleand the tips and my car is running back in tip top shape thankx for the tips!!!! :D
Took it off with a philips head, scraped the terminal ends on the inside with a screwdriver tell the white carbon build up is gone and you can see the brass / metal ends. Be sure to clean the rotor button too!
How did you know the engine was producing more power before you had driven the car having you tweaked it?

@DONALDHITMAN Don't need to disconnect the battery. It's safe not to. There isn't any current going to it as long as the key is off.
