@riflemanjim Yes, 800 bikes are more demanding (physically) than a SBK. Carlos Checa knows it... But riding a 800 is more similar to ride a 250 (corner speed) than a SBK (late break). And Spies comes from SBK.
@Californiano015 When he (StraightSuccess) says he thinks we'll see the best of Spies on the 1,000cc he's not speaking of the past and WSBK, he's talking about the new MotoGP regulations of bumping the displacement up to 1,000cc. They're saying the 800cc bikes currently in MotoGP are more advantageous to a 250cc/ high corner speed riding style than the 1,000cc riding style.
@riflemanjim what californian says is tru. 800cc is all about corner speed.....when 1000cc comes back in 2012. the racing overall will improve because. of the style the bigger engine brings...just look at races pre 2007 season with the 990s. you had 5,6,7 rider packs for the lead....u dont see that now wit 800s.
@StraightSuccess One thing is not an R1 it's an M1 Yamaha races the R6 but not the R1 & I can't wait till 800cc bike everyone who know supersport will tell you the 750cc were & still are the best track bikes, it's all I ride on the track is 750's & I would love to try out the Duck 848 on the track
