Dax Riggs is another incredible lyricist. His solo stuff plus his work with Acid Bath, Agents of Oblivion, and Deadboy & the Elephantmen are lyrically amazing.
I think I heard this song once on the radio but I can't really remember. I don't know how a song like this couldn't be a huge single though. This band is ridiculously underrated.
@0wolfeyes0 Hate to tell you, Maynard is the top of the list. J is a close second though for sure. Your so called truths are more delusions then based on any kind of truths.
Vicarious video is ok and in my opinion actually one of the worst written TOOL songs. Check out the lyrics on Right in Two, Schism, 46 and 2, Sober. Sober's lyrics are great.
@300daysandnights Heh, I got their discography torrent and found Lateralus to be one of their best too. Schism always gives me really weird imagery in my mind. It's interesting that Tool is one of the most straightforward prog bands and also one of the most impressive.
You should look at the Lateralus lyrics too. If you can't get the meaning you should check out the vid on here titled "The Fibonacci in Lateralus." Yea I'm with him though, no offense to Staind or anything, but Maynard is probably on of the best lyricists of our time.
well i just can relate to his lyrics better so maybe that's why. both bands rock though, don't think i'm saying he sucks but a few songs are flat out terrible like maynard's dick for instance
I don't think Maynard's Dick was meant to be very good or anything. I'm pretty sure it was just supposed to be funny, but it is still better than most of the generic shit you hear these days
Maynard's Dick is almost like a musical oxymoron in a way. The music to the song is very generic and not like TOOL. It is meant to have radio friendly music that sounds like everything else but the lyrics are designed so there is no way it could ever be played on the radio. It was done intentionally. Look at every SERIOUS song he has ever written and the lyrics are AMAZING... Aaron lewis is a lyrical bitch compared to maynard
Ah, thanks for the correction. and i recently noticed that tool has awesome drumming. good as tool is though when they have good songs the bad sngs lyrically seem to ruin some cds the first listen for me soemtimes. but yeah, again, awesome song
I disagree. i think they should be expensive to show how big a fan you are. for instance one that just buys cds like me is a fan. others take it to eps and singles. but the biggest fans prove it by buying more expensive ones. but i do respect you opinion
Well.. I don't think that has anything to do with how big a fan you are and if you are trying to show how big a fan you are, then you are a TOOL... I mean that with all due respect but if i am paying 300 dollars, there better be 10 new songs on it each time I listen to it and they all better kick ass.
I consider myself a HUGE TOOL fan. They are my favorite band of all time... But i don't remember salival being 275 bucks but it may have been... But it was a CD, DVD, and a 56 page book, Not just a CD.
great video, if you need any help getting your video/channel exposed i use a site called mytubeviews . com It has helped 5 of my videos get ranked on the first pages.

what the hell happened to Hurt? I listened to samples from their new album and it's all acoustic? What happened to the hard rock Hurt?

@GriMmREAPeR11 where did you hear that?
YoutoobHatesRyan 1 year ago
@GriMmREAPeR11 Even if that was true what is wrong with that? Nothing wrong with going with a blues or acoustic style.

@GriMmREAPeR11 Doesn't stop their music from being amazing.

@GriMmREAPeR11 No way man. Just look up "Numbers". It's their most recent single. Return and tell us all how acoustic that sounds...

For me probably the best are:
1) Ronnie James Dio
2) J. Loren Wince
3) David Draiman

hahaha just to annoy everyone I have to say the three best lyricist of all time would have to be (without a doubt)
1) Roger waters
2) J. Loren Wince
3) Maynard James Keenan

why are people talking about them not being 'dark enough'?
they've developed and grown as musicians and artists. This is a good thing for hurt.
though, their old stuff is still my fave, this is still amazing

you obviously havent heard the rest of the hurt album my friend. if u really know hurt you could tell it was them without knowing they did this song.
