  • Dax Riggs is another incredible lyricist. His solo stuff plus his work with Acid Bath, Agents of Oblivion, and Deadboy & the Elephantmen are lyrically amazing.

  • I'm dying to get this album! But I can't find any record stores here. And I don't just want it on itunes, I want the actual CD

  • How this wasn't a radio single I have no idea.

  • There is only two bands that have potential of being great, HURT and Poets of the Fall. Personal opinion of course.

  • una de las de cajonnnn

    XD

  • think id put aaron lewis at ten.

  • best rock vocalists of all time: pure ability, bands ive listened to

    kevin matyson-evans blue

    layne staley

    j loren

    chris cornell

    pete -chevelle

    robert plant

    axl rose

dude from seether (dont know his name)

ten spot gets crowded. love to hear feedback on that.

  • @barryjust1 agreed on all acounts lol but add Matt Bellamy-Muse as 10.

  • I think I heard this song once on the radio but I can't really remember. I don't know how a song like this couldn't be a huge single though. This band is ridiculously underrated.

  • The more I listen to this album the more i like it!!!

  • what the hell happened to Hurt? I listened to samples from their new album and it's all acoustic? What happened to the hard rock Hurt?

  • @GriMmREAPeR11 where did you hear that?

  • @GriMmREAPeR11 Even if that was true what is wrong with that? Nothing wrong with going with a blues or acoustic style.

  • @GriMmREAPeR11 Doesn't stop their music from being amazing.

  • @GriMmREAPeR11 No way man. Just look up "Numbers". It's their most recent single. Return and tell us all how acoustic that sounds...

  • Great song but Aaron Lewis is way better.

  • How did this not become a single, Its hands downs Hurt's best song

  • I'd have to say J. And Jonathan Davis are my favorite vocalists ever. EVER. x D

  • well i have no order in which lyricists i love the most but j loren is one of the best, also MAx BEmis is amazing

  • I love this song... It's the closest thing to inspiration on the album, a song about ambition and such... the title is so suiting

  • For me probably the best are:

    1) Ronnie James Dio

    2) J. Loren Wince

    3) David Draiman

  • hahaha just to annoy everyone I have to say the three best lyricist of all time would have to be (without a doubt)

    1) Roger waters

    2) J. Loren Wince

    3) Maynard James Keenan

Not my opinion it's the truth so you cant argue with me hahahahahaha

  • definitely hard to argue with that... But what about Layne Staley??

  • hmmm yeah forgot bout him... i don't think he would be in the top 3 tho, maybe top 5, definately top 10

  • and what about aaron lewis?..his words are deep and emotion filled as well as those others named...

  • Layne only wrote a few af alice in chains songs, cantrell wrote moste of it.

  • i always thought it was what kinda music you like how bout kenny wayne shepard "blue on black" it depends your choice on music really

  • What About John Michael Osborne? (Ozzy) When He Was In Black Sabbath.

  • put maynard at the top and you at least got it close. of coarse you forgot john lennon, but shit happens i guess.

  • Best Lyricist of our generation perhaps even EVER

  • @drekaderk1 hit down instead of up by mistake.

  • @0wolfeyes0 Omg man wtf where is Bob Dylan in that list

  • @0wolfeyes0 Hate to tell you, Maynard is the top of the list. J is a close second though for sure. Your so called truths are more delusions then based on any kind of truths.

  • @0wolfeyes0 so fucking true :)

  • @0wolfeyes0 although you left out layne stanley and chris cornell

  • back to the tool topic, i watched vicarious's music video and i won't agree on the lyrics, but tool has awesome music videos

  • Vicarious video is ok and in my opinion actually one of the worst written TOOL songs. Check out the lyrics on Right in Two, Schism, 46 and 2, Sober. Sober's lyrics are great.

  • damn those are powerful lyrics, they are on staind's level of soul and feelings. i want an album by them now, should i get aenima or lateralus?

  • I personally can't decide... I think i would grab both.. soo... I can't really help you there.

  • undertow actually i heard has the best lyrics, though i heard all is good

  • @Ultraman725 lateralus literally hypnotized me bro. it was crazy.

  • @300daysandnights Heh, I got their discography torrent and found Lateralus to be one of their best too. Schism always gives me really weird imagery in my mind. It's interesting that Tool is one of the most straightforward prog bands and also one of the most impressive.

  • You should look at the Lateralus lyrics too. If you can't get the meaning you should check out the vid on here titled "The Fibonacci in Lateralus." Yea I'm with him though, no offense to Staind or anything, but Maynard is probably on of the best lyricists of our time.

  • well i just can relate to his lyrics better so maybe that's why. both bands rock though, don't think i'm saying he sucks but a few songs are flat out terrible like maynard's dick for instance

  • I don't think Maynard's Dick was meant to be very good or anything. I'm pretty sure it was just supposed to be funny, but it is still better than most of the generic shit you hear these days

  • Maynard's Dick is almost like a musical oxymoron in a way. The music to the song is very generic and not like TOOL. It is meant to have radio friendly music that sounds like everything else but the lyrics are designed so there is no way it could ever be played on the radio. It was done intentionally. Look at every SERIOUS song he has ever written and the lyrics are AMAZING... Aaron lewis is a lyrical bitch compared to maynard

  • sorry but i'd say anders friden or aaron lewis

  • I don't listen to in flames so i can't comment on him but where do you come off calling aaron lewis a better lyricist than Maynard.

  • Ah, thanks for the correction. and i recently noticed that tool has awesome drumming. good as tool is though when they have good songs the bad sngs lyrically seem to ruin some cds the first listen for me soemtimes. but yeah, again, awesome song

  • WOW... That has to be the first time ive ever heard someone say Tool's lyrics were bad... Maynard is probably the best lyricist of our time

  • Comment removed

  • Then buy the fucking album... I didn't put the whole thing on.

  • sorry i was pissed after i found out someone had leaked a $275 album

great band with a good fanbase

  • Well If a band is gonna put out a record that costs 300 dollars it should be leaked.

  • I disagree. i think they should be expensive to show how big a fan you are. for instance one that just buys cds like me is a fan. others take it to eps and singles. but the biggest fans prove it by buying more expensive ones. but i do respect you opinion

  • Well.. I don't think that has anything to do with how big a fan you are and if you are trying to show how big a fan you are, then you are a TOOL... I mean that with all due respect but if i am paying 300 dollars, there better be 10 new songs on it each time I listen to it and they all better kick ass.

  • agree to disagree?

  • I agree on this upon my own accordance.

  • i'm sorry, but what exactly are you talking about. who put out a 275 dollar album?

  • tool's salival

  • I consider myself a HUGE TOOL fan. They are my favorite band of all time... But i don't remember salival being 275 bucks but it may have been... But it was a CD, DVD, and a 56 page book, Not just a CD.

  • yeah i agree, wtf are you talking about?

  • why are people talking about them not being 'dark enough'?

they've developed and grown as musicians and artists. This is a good thing for hurt.

though, their old stuff is still my fave, this is still amazing

  • you obviously havent heard the rest of the hurt album my friend. if u really know hurt you could tell it was them without knowing they did this song.

  • What happened? Honestly, this is just not dark enough to be the Hurt that I know.

  • i have heard the whole album like 8 times.. It is by far their best... Its a little different.. but it is sooo good.

  • deal wit it:)

  • nice song!
