  • We should've hired Cal in the first place rather than that drunk billy G.

  • haha its funny.the guy talking about how memphis has a good recruiting class because uk has the # 1 class in the country lol

  • How'd the season end up boyz? West Virginia took a belt out and spanked UK's bottom blue.

  • Kentucky deserves to lose, they bought all of the players who were supposed to go to MEMPHIS. Memphis has the best recruiting class for 2010 and kentucky has only one recruit in the ESPN top 100. HA nice try Calipari it just doesnt work when you try to buy ur players and a Championship.

  • Kentucky shouldn't count championships won before segregation ended. Also any wins be a coach with the infamous first name of Adolf should be vacated too for obvious reasons. Somehow yall think this fuckin shine box of a guido coach is going to bring ya back? I didn't cheat but if I did this is how I did it! Huggins has rapped Teflon John's ass many times. FYI he's a better coach.

  • Memphis coming back with THE #1 recruiting class in the country for 2010.

Cal WAS here but now he's GONE

With Coach Pastner we WILL move on

Deep tourney runs just like the past

If we meet Kensucky we WILL kick ass

    EAT IT PUSSYCAT FANS!

  • Eat what? Nice NIT appearance. Also, if you WILL move on, why don't you go ahead and do it.

  • @rellef67 lol

  • Some of you UK fans are pretty wrap in yourselves. Sure you have one of the best coaches in ever, but Memphis is coming back. Rest assured we're comin' for you. And I can't wait to see ya'll play against us Tigers and get slap up side the head by us!

See ya'll in the Elight 8!

  • you're plain retarded kid. UK would slap the shit out of memphis and kentucky isnt just gonna make it to the elite 8, they're gonna make it to the final four.

  • Lol, because I'm sure you do have proof he pays kids to go to his school.

  • John Wall Is a Kentucky Wildcat! (:

  • Don't be surprised to see UK beat a lot of good teams next year. There is a LOT of talent on the team that Calipari gets to start with, not counting who he brings in. They were a young inexperienced team and people don't give them the benefit of the doubt for that.

  • its time for another banner baby!

  • sorry, if only these guys were a few years younger! KU is going to take the title this year. We have talent, depth and the most important thing, experience! No one stands a chance! And since Coach Cal only pays..I mean.."recruits" one-and-dones, those freshmen will never get a championship.

  • People ... stop saying we are gonna get in the final four in 2 years. Thats unrealistic. Im just as much a cat fan as the next person, but come on! He WILL have us back at the top, give him time.

  • gillespie wasn't a good rep for the university of kentucky and the basketball program. he would hit the bars getting drunk and acting cynical and disrepectful to school officials and the local community. gillespie wasn't fired b/c he didn't have immediate success. he was ok. a good recruiter who won coach of the year last year in the SEC. His attitude was the problem.

  • Only the ego will speak for itself. He left nothing behind, well, nothing that he really cared for. Memphis will and has moved on. Bring on Bruce Pearl.

  • They will be in the final four in two more years.

  • And that is the attitude that has caused Kentucky's program to chase coaches out of the gym.

You're not going to get to the Final 4 in two years. Period. Give him 5+ years.

  • sit back and watch him

  • Its pretty funny how no one has a good rating on here yet. How about this: Memphis fans, we will keep winning

Kentucky fans, you got a great coach and i wish you the best.

  • It always amazes me with this poor economy how universities can throw millions of dollars at coaches for sports programs and raise tuition for students at the same time. Institutions for higher learning...who cares...as long as we have a winning basketball team. People need to get their priorities in order...what a joke!

  • Buying another school's whole program is unethical and we dont need Calipari. Look at our history, our facilities, and our position. We can get almost any coach in the country. We can do the same thing the SEC does now. I think we'll leave out the aloof attitude and death threats to coaches though. As for Cal, i dont think i could play for a coach who's ego tore him away from a city who gave him everything he wanted. Memphis offered more money than Kentucky did.

  • Ego? Honest to god! The mans as considerate as coaches come. Kentucky had attitude problems with their last coach. Why would they look for repetitive disasters? You are overlooking the basic fact that Kentucky is arguably the greatest program in the nation and that they have the best practice facilities, the best fans, and the best history in general. Honestly, Memphis was made a good team through Calapari. memphis fans should be proud he coached them to national recognition. Calapari has dreams

  • I recognize and appreciate what he has done for Memphis but you cannot tell me that ego was not the cause of him leaving behind a team capable of winning a National Championship. If he loved this team as much as he said, how in the hell could he leave this city, only having college basketball to look forward to, and this team in shambles the way he has. He left for a team that, while their history is rich, has not won or been in the national picture for a long time. Its politics.

  • Of course he has a big ego, and his big ego has something to do with his previous success; yes, he loves Memphis, but Kentucky is one of the 5-7 pristine jobs in the country; he's trying to get Memphis players and recruits to stay in Memphis; he'll be earning much more money. There's no logical reason to criticize his move, and I believe him when he says he loves Memphis.

  • Trying to get them to stay? HA! Once he accepted the job at Kentucky, he was not allowed to talk to Memphis recruits. Who's to say that he did not delay his inevitable decision only to be able to confirm that Henry and Cousins would go with him to Kentucky. As for "What would you do for 31.6 mil, Memphis offered more, much, much more. We at Memphis basicly worshiped him. We pretty much said, "Name your price, we'll get it for you."

His response was, "I'm going to Kentucky."

  • they did not offer much, much, much more. They equaled our offer. Get it right.

  • ky- 35 million 8 years

    memphis 44 million 6 years.

i dont know the exact memphis number, i do know it was 6 years.

    So he was correct

  • What would you do for 31.6 MILLION dollars?

  • eat A LOT of Klondike bars =)

  • go cats!!!!!!! memphis is a sad program...lol

  • I'm glad Calipari is part of the Kentucky legacy.. He's a great guy and will be a fantastic coach.

  • Memphis is LAME! they wouldnt be anything without John Calipari! Kentucky all the way baby! Get wit it or kick rockxs!

  • ya you will see memphis going down in about 2 years to mediocrity

  • yea right kentucky will now be a contender for the national title with all of the players the get back and the players coming in
