@pophits Just listen to the entire score for the film and you'll find it....this is an important theme for the film, so there are many moments and different situations where this theme comes into play. It could be Sayuri's Theme and End Credits or the final 40 seconds of Becoming a Geisha.....skim through the score and you'll find it.

So do you mean the Memoirs score or the Winter's Bone score? Because the Winter's Bone orchestra piece is what I'm looking for. It didn't quite have the same rhythm as this one but the initial dark mood was pretty similar.

@pophits Maybe what you are actually referring to is "Hardscrabble Elegy".....if not listen to the full score of Winter's Bone.

I found that musically Winter's Bone was very weak.....but that's my opinion.

a geisha is the original role women in the Japanese community played. They were house wives but with stricter and brutal laws that restricted them. They were not prostitutes but more likely to be rape victims. They still exist today.

John Wiliams composed the music for this movie. Oh my gosh! I had no idea. He is truly a genius. I absolutely LOVE this movie. It is so captivating just like the music. I think that the music makes the movie, because if the music is crappy then the movie won't be as thrilling. For example, Star Wars, Memoirs of a Geisha, they all did really well and I think that John William's brilliance contributed to each of them.
