Inaccurate Katrina comments. I was here and I can tell you that the people were not forced into the dome. The city opened it up as a place of refuge for the people. The city doesn't like people in the dome because they have a history of destroying it. I took photo's of people crossing the bridge. It was put to a stop when they destroyed property on the westbank. The police chief did what he was elected to do and defended his city. He waited until the first sign control loss before he blocked it.

I have a dozen or so friends that are cops in various ranks and commands. I know for a fact that most of them make between $90k - $135k a year here in Northern California. It's not that they don't deserve it, but don't think for one minute cops don't earn a decent living. At least not here in Kalifornia anyway. NONE of my cop friends will follow orders if and when it ever comes down to throwing people out of their homes, collecting guns door to door, etc. They are all great guys!

Point #1: The pension is all the retiree's money--the average retiree having paid a quarter million dollars in SS taxes over 45 years of employment.

Point #2: I have no problem with the police earning as much as the free market values their services. Where I have a problem is when someone coerces me to pay for a service.

As an underemployed videographer, I should love a law that requires you, under threat of imprisonment, to pay me to shoot video for you. But I realize that's immoral.

I don't know about everyone else, but I think that this sounds like a noble and extremely "original intent oriented" organizaton. It's awesome that there are people like this who have the drive to put their feet down and say, "I won't do that: it's unconstitutional".

The only place I see it getting murky is when their interpretation of the Constitution is a bit off, but that hopefully shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Some parts of the Constitution are pretty cut and dry, but others need careful analysis. I'm just saying that if the Supreme Court didn't agree with this organization's interpretation, it could get messy.

Maybe I'm just being a worry wart (lol I've been one my whole life). Like I said, I totally agree with the Oathkeepers and I'm sure that they have a clear understanding of what they're doing. It's just that I once took a course in Constitutional Law, and after reading all those Supreme Court cases, I naturally thought of the whole issue of interpreting the Constitution correctly when I saw the vid. But again, I was probably just worrying for no reason. Go Oathkeepers!
