  • to u wear it when go to the toilet?

  • @palupalua12 loool no

  • war maryooley waa maryo jeceshahay

  • That is right HIJAB is an Arabic and we are not Arabs we are Somalis, second HIJAB means cover up and women are not stash they are human. So Somali girls stop dehumanizing yourself and stop wearing that radiculous ugly blankets. You are beautiful minus that dirty Arab culture

  • Fashion statement kulahaa qumayo dheh

  • @islam01231 i strongly disagree when she said that "hijab is a choice" but what i disagree most is you calling her qumayo. in the day of judgemnt it is between her and her creator allah(swc). if she chose not to wear her camar and chose fashion over allah(swc) then one day she will regret it however calling her name and INKAAR is not going to help these young girls... its our responsibilities ti tell them what is good and tell them to stop and make DUA for them.

  • I understand this video was done probably around 2003 but I feel like it gave off the wrong image about the Hijaab. I know most of these girls, the youngest in there is now probably 23.

  • not wearing a hijab is not a sin :), it's a choice.

  • @yanammm : dont read quran without ilmu and say that o yea i am better than the ulama , to really understand quran one must look at the tafsir which is also must be from the sunnah of prophet muhammad saw , here , allah say : ( o prophet ) tell to the believing women to cover their neck and bossom with khimar ( hijab ) ,

  • @yanammm then prophet tell to the mu'miniin which is in the hadith , the hadith says that hijab is fardhu to all mu'minin , allah told us to pray and pay zakah , but allah dint tell us how many times a day we should pray ( 5 times ) , how many we should spend on zakah , this is all in the hadith

  • you with green shirt....go weir hijab....ur beautiful with the hijab......nakedness doesn't mean beautiful..

  • omgash this is like so dame funny......dang

  • mashallah nice vid

  • I feel sorry for these girls, as they have no understanding of what hijab is or why they have been commanded to wear it. The girl said "we don't want to be far away from our people". WHAT the heck? For these girls Islam has become or I should say is cultural. What's with the limited understanding of Islaam?

  • they have the concept of hijab all messed up i agree with what you are saying you wear hijab for GOD not for your people, or country or whatever reason they gave. And if this was made in minnesota i wouldnt be surprised its people like this who have messed up the concept here of hijab and when i meet most non-muslims they ask if i am somali not muslim because they have gotten the idea that only somalis wear hijab. and no i am not a somali i am a Muslim

  • Salaams.

Hijab is not merely 'covering your hair' one must act in an appropriate manner (inner hijab) and dress appropriately, modestly, which includes covering your beauty (bosoms neck as well as hair). In the qur'an it says a 'cloak' should be over your body to hide your adornment

  • Oh boy! No wonder Somalia is in big trouble. You people waste so much time talking about hijab. I asked my friend Mohamed to tell me why Somalis wear a hijab and he told me that it was because the only authorized to see the hair of a woman is her own husband. OK, so as an infidel I can see her nose and that's alright? I can see her cheeks and that's OK? I can see her lips and that's fine; I can see her beautiful eyes and that's not a problem, but God forbid I see her hair! Give me a break!

  • You should learn as an adult that people will always have a different view and opinion about things; you should respect that and get over it. Im sure you dont have a lot of life experience from the way you are dealing with the issue and I will be the bigger person and say. Salam!

  • Mizshinobi. I think you need to get a life and stop emailing me. It's strange how personal you took my reply and keep sending me reply back. Lighten up this is youtube and the world is big, people don't have the same ettitude towards life and othe people. Do whatever is good for you, and i will do whatever is good for me as an adult. I'm a leader never been a follower. SO stop harassing me, if you want change look in the mirro and start with yourself.

  • nice vidoe and well done, can any one tell me the name of the music at the background , its so nice and thanks ...

  • I see Somalis in weddings without hijabs fresh from the hair dresser flaunting their beauty, dancing with men and the next day they give lecture about hijab.

  • LMAO dats so true .. really its a sad case may ALLAH guide our muslim ummah and make us all stronger ameeeeeeeen :p

  • I would like to know why all the Somali hijabis wear on daily basis hijab, but in weddings they show up without hijab. Somalis are really hypocrites, big time hypocrites. You bend the rules whenever is convenient for.

  • can u not generalise all somalians in to one category. you're being way too judgemental and you're sinning yourself.

  • Now let me tell you something, to generelise poeple you need to know what you talking about. You can get hold of somali wedding tapes everywhere it's not only available to friends and family. I have a lot of somali friends and have been to a lot of weddings, and I'm saying what I saw simple. If you don't like it's your problem, there is no sin about to say things you have seen with your own eyes. You need to go to the somali video shops and ask for somali weddings, and see it yourself.

  • sorry but u seem to miss the point, to judge anyone, nevermind a nation of people based on your own encounters with them is haraam- as judging anyone is haraam. i don't need to get videos of somalian weddings to sit there backbiting them and judging them for taking off their hijab, that is Allah's job alone..not mine.even if i did see it with my own eyes i would only advise my sisters and make duah for them, just as you should instead of chatting about those people on the internet.

  • Well is not up to you to call things haraam. I say things the way they are. I heat hypocrites and they would not get any duah from me. The reason Muslim people today are in such an awful situation, the reason we Muslims have wars everywhere is because of those hypocrisy. I dont need to do duah for nobody because we all no whats right or wrong.

  • According to the sunnah and Quran being judgemental towards others and tarnishing a group of people is haraam, it clearly states this is the job of Allah swt and not ours. to be a hypocrite is something much more than to commit 1 sin of taking off hijab, to be a hypocrite of islam is to be a complete disbeliever in Allah yet claim to be a muslim. you're not careful enough with ur words- you must be very young. sister be much slower to judge ppl... i remember a hadith, but not word 4 word...

  • "None of you truly believes until you wish for others

    what you wish for yourself"

--------Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him)

  • I gave you my opinion, and Im all for community control. I will have one day daughters and I will be equally harsh to them, there is no way I will make up excuses for them. The Quran tells you to straighten out the corrupt people before they poison the rest of the community, and the only way you can do that is to tell them there way is wrong and to come as an community rules and not to make excuses and hide from the reality.

  • when you see a brother/sister in islam doing something wrong, you should make between 1 and 70 excuses for them... when you have run out of excuses for those people u should say 'i'm sure there's a reason for their actions but i dnt know what it is'.

please dont say i'm making up what's haraam.

  • What is sin? What is forgiveness? What about loving one another? Only through God's Holy Spirit is that we can overcome sin, be forgiving, and love one another regardless of culture, social position, or language.

  • MizShinobi1 ;When you see a brother/sister in Islam doing something wrong, you should make between 1and 70 excuses for them? Interesting those are a lot of excuse. The Quran doesnt say anything about excuses, the Quran tells you to have a community control. The Quran tells you how a woman should dress to prevent awful situations. Now if I see a drunk brother on the street should I make excuses for him? Should I tell my sons he got a good reason why he is a drunkard?

  • There is a good reason why the Muslim women I judge dress the way they do in weddings and then walk on the streets with hijab, its called corruption, and the Quran warns us about those type of Muslim people. You need to go back to the Quran, before you come here and open your mouth.

  • or it call the veil covering

  • Hijab waa Astaanta Gabadha Muslimada.

  • It's good to see Somali girls representing Islam and their culture. Even the girl who said that she is Americanized. It's All Good. But my message to her is: Don't trip, because Amerian culture is without religion and without Allah. That's why we need young sisters to keep representing Islam. Who else is going to teach the young children about it?

  • thats what worng some them they are americanized

  • Wrong. American culture may not have Allah but certainly the majority of Americans profess their Christian religion. The fact that so many Somali people have been admitted into our country is because we Christians care for you Muslims although you don't want my Jesus or or we are called pigs and monkeys by your islam. We still love you. As a Christian, I would not be treated in Somalia the same way we treat Muslims in America.

  • I was an Atheist for a year here in Western world but I want to thank Allah for saving me.

  • Dude these girl don't know what they are talking about. the are obviously young and very ignorant of the religion and WHY they wear it. My GOD! Why don you people just come to my house and I tell give you an educated description of the hijaab....These girl are too ignorant of the religion and hijaab and frankly they are kinda an embarrassment to us Somali hijaabis

  • jeez you need to calm down because first of all.

theyy did not do this video for you.

secondlyy.you dont need to judge them and call them names(isnt that against your religion?)

and thirdly.they obviously know what theyre talkin about you have your reason to wear it and they have theirs but im pretty sure at some point those reason intersect.

and this video was really short too.maybe they said all they could in this time.

    stop being rude and judgemental.

  • TINKABEAN || - We are not judgemental them & being rude! Just we have been wondering why some Somali young girls are ignoring the religion! Thats it! Hope you'll understand what we are talking about.

  • Iqra - Absolutely! Im very agree with you!! They are embarrasing us. But I have seen most of beautiful & young (Mashallah) Somali girls are ignoring the religion & not wearing the hijabs! & Its very amazing that some Somali parents are not teaching them the right way, religion, clothes, & etcs! Im pretty sure that they are lazying. & They think its freedom & can do whatever they like. You know what I meant & I really so sorry for them, walahi! But Inshallah they will have learn & understand!

  • HeartBeats thank you. I hope they learn too. Each muslim represents their religion and in times like this...its more important then ever

  • Iqura - You're welcome & indeed, its very important. ♥

  • muslims really spouse to show hands and face

  • I feel soory for them, that is inapproriate, they are just making Hijab for fun. shame on you.

  • a Muslim woman without the hijab can carry herself with as much modesty and dignity as one that dons the head wear.

    wa' alleikum salaam

peace and properaty to all of you.

  • What is semantically clear, even after an analysis of various translations and even if one uses the word veil in translation — and one doesn't have to have a superb command of the Arabic language for this — is an order that the woman's bosom be covered, not that the woman's head be covered. The emphasis or concern is about the exposed bosom, not uncovered head. The woman must take her cloth, shawl, whatever she is wearing, and cover or shield her bosom from view

  • There is much controversy over the translation of the verse and especially the word Khimar (which loosely means covering). Many translators use the word veil instead of covering, thus arguing that the Quran requires the veil. However, as scholars of Arabic have pointed out, Khimar can be any covering, such as a tablecloth, blanket, dress, or shawl.

  • Most scholars seem to agree that one specific reference in the Quran on women's dress code comes from 24:30-31, often quoted as the source of the command for the veil: "And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments . . . that they should draw their KHIMAR over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands. . . . ''

  • The word "Hijab" derives from hajaba, that is, to hide or conceal, screen, shield. Hijab/hibaja is mentioned eight times in the Quran. But Hijab does not appear in the context of a woman's head covering. Certainly, there is no detailed direction as to women's precise attire. One key Quranic verse, 7:26, states: "O children of Adam, we have provided you with garments to cover your bodies, as well as for luxury. But the best garment is the garment of righteousness. . . .".

  • interested to know how you came to your conclusion about the hijab not being mandatory for women to cover her head. i would like to read it one day (( if it is a book)). Or does your understanding come from a thorough study of the Koran?

  • @angelbeckwith I HOPE ALL OF THIS WOMAN "ugly" BE REMOVE FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH....... WE MAKES US DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER IS BY BEING GOOD MUSLIMS AND COVER OUT BODIES THE RIGHT WAY.. WEARING HIJAB ON UR HEAD DOES NOT MAKE YOU A MUSLIM BABY GURL

  • @angelbeckwith it's no where stated in the Koran that wearing it is a must. It's just a recommendation. It's a choice. But not wearing it doesn't make you less of a muslim.

  • within Islam there is no mandatory wearing of the hijabThe use of hijab or head covering dates back to Greco-Roman civilization. Jews, Christians, Muslims traditionally covered their heads as a matter of respect — as they all do even today in places of worship. Arab men and women traditionally covered their heads even before the Islam — it was and is common and practical in the desert to shield, for example, from the sand.

  • i love hijab it is fun to have on and some can be so nice to see =)

  • 1st of Salam to all,2nd "Hijab" is when you cover your head by the hijab your head that mean protecting your self from the all Kind of Bad things, I have seen my mom she always cover up her full body and head by the Hijab, and its a good thing

  • Mashallah, i admire you girls for wearing the hijab and proud of being a muslim at a young age. For many young muslim girls (even adults) the hijab is so difficult for them to wear. But i believe that as u get more mature, ur faith and ur understanding of Islam will grow Inshaallah. Allah is most forgiving, most merciful

  • no it is no differen kind of hijab it just one kind of hijab stop liy ok it is danbi ok

  • Sisters may Allah forgive u and us. Hijab is not our choice first it is a command from Allah. It is not cultural it is 100% religious and it is not a headscarf it is more than that. There are conditions for hijab. Read the verses of hijab in surah nur and ahzab. Fear Allah. You have to wear it to prove you are a muslim woman. People can mistake you for a non muslim woman.Wear it for the sake of Allah only not your family or husband.

  • @studentofknowledge Well I would call you student of ignorance, So people wear stupid hijab for identity, it is like military or police uniform where you can differentiate from civilians? what a joke? Somali girls are human and they have right to show their natural beuaty. They dont have to look ugly becuase of stupid religion founded by Arab man who lived in 7th century

  • @frankie3005 your the ugly one tho...

  • I don't know what u heard but that aint hijab!!! colors, seethrough, bright, part of ur neck showing, music in the background, and the other girls mentioning that she been in america 11years, some people are born in europe and they still cover in black head to toe with gloves niqab, u girls are confused, read the quraan and find out what hijab is, hijab is JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH not family, honour family_?? hijab is not culture!

  • all good muslim sis should know the meaning and the usefullnes of the hijab.the jijab is not i think that comes and goes juts like other fashion clothes.God mantioned in his book( the quran) and it is recommended for all muslims women to wear it if they are God fearing.

  • HIJAB IS A choice girls wear it for pleasing god. and please stop saying outside appearance dont matter cause woman getting rape evryday because they dont wear hijab.Hijab is very important its a command on all woman those who dont follow it will only wrong themselfs but no one else.

peace may ALLAH guide us all to the straight path.AMEEN

  • Muhajabat, munaqabat, women, men, children all get raped. It is never the fault of the person. Rape should be condemned by all and especially Muslims.

  • Hijab Macnihiisu qofku inuu bartaa weeya marka hore kadib ayuu sharixi karaa, Hijab ku maahan wax aad kala dooranayso ee waa waajib rabi nagu waajib yeelay, maahan wax aad iska dayn kadho, waa nagu waajib waajibna waa waajib ee maahan waxaad iska dayn kadho sida sunadoo kale, waaridna maahan in dartii looqaato ama saaxiibo hakugu ciseeyaan iyo wax lamid ah, ee rabi un baa loo qaataa asagaa ciso u sugnaatay, gabdhow barta xijaabka saxda ah, tabeebo xijaab maahan, xijaabkuna xarago maahan,

  • I like the effort that was put into this video; however, I feel that the individuals that were asked questions about the Hijab had difficulties answering due to language barriers that made it seem as though they didn't know much. I guess things that may see right in your mind (when you think it out)sounds a bit different when you try to express it.

  • they're just teens....Dont expect teens to know what they're talking about....some girls have a good sense of themselves & some dont based to their level of self esteem & emotional intelligence...

  • manshala nice

i hope more sister will wear hijab

  • the girl with the green t-shirt is tripping, i mean she doesn't even know how to express her feelings. she doesn't wear it so she can fit in with the Americans? and she says she is a Muslim but the hijab should proof it her parents failed her. i think the short video is wonderful great job girls.

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. i know she is really trippin. whtz up with her. i felt like wanna smuck her head.LMAO.

  • Mashallah!! Our sisters are the most beautiful women in hijaab!!am extreatmely happy with the sister who said she feels happy. the plain trueth is that women look so beutiful in hijab and ofcouse the iman and faith gets always stronger. keep on my sisters its never worm to wear the hijaab.
