I like the effort that was put into this video; however, I feel that the individuals that were asked questions about the Hijab had difficulties answering due to language barriers that made it seem as though they didn't know much. Iqra - Absolutely! Im very agree with you!! They are embarrasing us. But I have seen most of beautiful & young (Mashallah) Somali girls are ignoring the religion & not wearing the hijabs! & Its very amazing that some Somali parents are not teaching them the right way, religion, clothes, & etcs! Im pretty sure that they are lazying. & They think its freedom & can do whatever they like. You know what I meant & I really so sorry for them, walahi! What is semantically clear, even after an analysis of various translations and even if one uses the word veil in translation — and one doesn't have to have a superb command of the Arabic language for this — is an order that the woman's bosom be covered, not that the woman's head be covered. The emphasis or concern is about the exposed bosom, not uncovered head. The woman must take her cloth, shawl, whatever she is wearing, and cover or shield her bosom from view

There is much controversy over the translation of the verse and especially the word Khimar (which loosely means covering). Many translators use the word veil instead of covering, thus arguing that the Quran requires the veil. However, as scholars of Arabic have pointed out, Khimar can be any covering, such as a tablecloth, blanket, dress, or shawl.

Most scholars seem to agree that one specific reference in the Quran on women's dress code comes from 24:30-31, often quoted as the source of the command for the veil: "And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments . . . that they should draw their KHIMAR over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands. . . . ''

The word "Hijab" derives from hajaba, that is, to hide or conceal, screen, shield. Hijab/hibaja is mentioned eight times in the Quran. But Hijab does not appear in the context of a woman's head covering. Certainly, there is no detailed direction as to women's precise attire. One key Quranic verse, 7:26, states: "O children of Adam, we have provided you with garments to cover your bodies, as well as for luxury. But the best garment is the garment of righteousness. . . .".

Jews, Christians, Muslims traditionally covered their heads as a matter of respect — as they all do even today in places of worship. Arab men and women traditionally covered their heads even before the Islam — it was and is common and practical in the desert to shield, for example, from the sand.

Sisters may Allah forgive u and us. Hijab is not our choice first it is a command from Allah. It is not cultural it is 100% religious and it is not a headscarf it is more than that. There are conditions for hijab. Read the verses of hijab in surah nur and ahzab. Fear Allah. You have to wear it to prove you are a muslim woman. People can mistake you for a non muslim woman.Wear it for the sake of Allah only not your family or husband.

I like the effort that was put into this video; however, I feel that the individuals that were asked questions about the Hijab had difficulties answering due to language barriers that made it seem as though they didn't know much. I guess things that may see right in your mind (when you think it out)sounds a bit different when you try to express it.
