  • now i want to hear the rush in theme of swat....it was this one and another one they always used to play on the show when they are rushing in

  • 0:50 For a second I thought that was Rick Perry and I expected him to fire off a few shots and proclaim 'I kick ass for the Lord'.

  • LOL, man I forgot how hardcore UPS was in the 70s.

  • Another classic TV series intro! It's almost impossible to express how cool this is to a 9 year old boy.

  • Anybody else worried about the rollover potential for the van?

  • @billt460 International Harvester?!!

  • Go, Hondo! Show those discoing bad-guys!

  • you're right, the show was a dud. That's why I would just listen to the intro, and then turn to the Incredible hulk.

  • They had to show the 'black guy' breaking into the house.

  • we played this in band last year my teacher is on here u can find him by searching ray yule fly me to the moonone

  • one m0:00re time

  • Gign are the best you you are a shittttttttttttt

  • Wow, i wanted to join a swat team when i was ten years old after watching this show! this song KICKS ASS!!!!

  • the greatest instrumental TV-show theme-song ever (ta-na-naa, ta-na-naa, ta-na-naa, ta-na-naa, ta-na-naa, pwoink, pwonk-pwonk...or something like that)

  • i want my intro to be like this... here's to hoping when i am famous that this is my theme.

  • oh yes BETTER

  • ll cool j "im bad"

  • It's weird how the quality of the shows themselves skyrocketed since then but the intro songs made the inverse movement getting worse and worse.

  • love this show! great theme!

  • Couple of these guys you couldn't even see their faces.

  • swat = Special Weapons And Tactics

  • Prdawng, I totally agree

  • Where can I find season 2? I have season 1 on I-tunes.

  • @prdawg215 It is on Crackle and I just bought a set from ioffer.

  • This is one high strung, heart pumping, kick-ass, slammin, intense ass theme intro. do you agree.

  • Man So Wild About This Got a Swat Outfit For Christmas 1 Year HAHAHAHA

  • this has to be the best show and theme song of all time! i mean it stands right up with the rest of the classics like the peter gunn theme and green hornet theme which all had great shows. but yet my friends dont even know what the hell im talking about when i mention these shows! its a discrace!

  • I wake up to this every morning and well. I don't re enact for no reason, I will kick some ass.

  • You're in my spot, sir.

  • @ThePadawan3 Blue, Bang and Clear, go!

  • i hve never seen one eipisode of this but a good 50 of those views are from me

  • @ilovehalo8724 I watched the original WAY more times that that when I was 13

  • @ilovehalo8724 They only count you once!!!

  • I like the Mark Shera portion the best.. the new trumpet passage to coincide with it is great. Plus Shera is a cool surname to have, I can imagine many chicks that would fall for it.. how many guys have that surname anyway? not many

  • @rahejaarcade I think your gay!!!! for saying this

  • Sounds like Shaft.

  • @legokid87654321 yea its a shaft ripoff swat cops are redneck cops not cool like shaft

  • @spacepatrolman

Are you kidding ? Those swat cops would kick Shaft's ass !

  • @joey507304 shaft solves crimes and saves lives when the cops are too incompetant i know a cop that thinks its funny that blackula [ william marshal watch twilights last gleaming] throws cops though the ceiling

  • The FedEx truck broke down, so they switched to UPS at the last moment. Good job, Norwegian SWAT!

  • If top gear uses this on their ads ima call the swat on them and see who deserves the song!

  • Great theme song, this was when great shows had rocking theme intros. Watch at :47 at how the glass breaks before Rod Perry launches into window.

  • @msgreeneyez26 ... at how the stunt man launches into the wondow. But the window shatters from the muzzle of the gun hitting it first. This prevents any harm to the jumpee.

  • Still the greatest theme song EVER.

  • Top Gear using this song in there new ads and it may become there new theme

  • @Silverfox7771 HELL NO!

  • whats the first

  • "In Search Of" theme Is the Greatest Theme Song Of All Time, on the list...

  • Kickin' ass in a bread truck! LOL! I was only 5 years old then, but I loved that show!

  • @TheMick26 I thought that was a UPS truck....

  • @TheMick26 lol....you got jokes dude....lol

  • @prdawg215 Thanks! Can't help it though... that's what it reminded me of. My best friend's grand-dad worked for a bakery and drove a truck just like it - minus the paint job, of course. We begged him, but he wouldn't let us play in it. I can imagine his grand-dad slidin' that truck into the neighborhood (no ABS back then) and a bunch of us kids pouring out the doors! ;o)

  • @TheMick26 - Me too. Thank you for saying that! I always thought it was "the Wonder Bread Truck for Los Angeles"!

  • Love "chikatawah" guitar slides...so 70s.

  • @tdelamont Can't go wrong with a 70's Dunlop/Vox Wah pedals, great stuff.

  • I remember when SWAT teams were a new thing. Then, it was interesting that civilian police departments were adopting military-style tactics to combat problems caused by escalating crime.

  • lol all they needed was t j hooker and these supermen could have ruled the world !great 70's cheesefest !

  • ilikethisvireo

  • if this is second best what is best the theme from the a team?

  • 當年TVB譯作神風特警隊...懷念...

  • 0:23 love that tune <3

  • Comment removed

  • EPIC!

  • When I was a police officer, I also spent some time on what we called a TRT, a Tactical Response Team. That's just one of the many names for SWAT, especially when that title itself started taking on a bad PR feel to it.

Anyway, many a time during training, I would be playing this song from my youth in my mind.

  • Doing MOUT training. Have this theme song in head while clearing rooms

  • Being in S.W.A.T. is not all that it is cracked up to be, a lot of training and then just waiting in full gear until the suspect surrenders. Every now and then you actually get to have some fun. a lot of P.T. Physical Training and time at the firing range wich is all good. The electronic devices and robots are cool but for a full time job day in and day out, it takes a toll mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually...

  • bs as I live in Argentina who have the right to swat Series please I'ma fan since childhood dvd could edit it in original language

  • thank you awesome intro brings back memories!

  • I still remember meeting the late, great Robert Urich when I was a little boy as a

patient at Newington Children's Hospital in Connecticut. He was visiting sick kids

in the hospital and we played the theme song to "All in the Family" together on an

upright piano. It must have been around 1975. This show was still on then.

  • 25 second ad... wtf?

  • Epic theme, but did they steal that SWAT van from the Postal Service???

  • how old do guys have to be in SWAT forces

  • SWAT is more or less your Special Forces for the police. I once met a guy who wanted to be on a SWAT team. I suggested he look into the Navy SEALS (it is more fun than SWAT) and he said the reason he didn't want to do that is he didn't want to join the military. Being in the military isn't always all that bad, it depends on what you're doing.

  • The new Canadian cop show "King" took a lot for it's theme song from this.

  • makes me want to watch the Beastie Boys' Sabotage video

  • Great theme....the show however was a bit on the cheesy side.

  • Thumbs up if Spoony sent you here.

  • Thats asian porn for you...

  • behind "Sanford and Son" maybe?

  • Wow memories, I was 5 years old when this was on tv. Thanks for sharing

  • kind of reminds me of the a team. hell, there was even an episode of the a team when they went up against a rogue swat team

  • De lá pra cá muita coisa mudou.

  • I was watching the SWAT moive the other day. I knew I had heard that theme before, but I knew I had never heard seen the TV show. Now I know where. Spoony's playthrough of SWAT 4 uses it.

  • @Moredread25 You're in my spot sir.

  • is it just me, or is tj look really gay when he jumps of that roof

  • laguna, ward and kiros lol

  • THis is the best. may be number one....

  • When rats run to you,you call the cats, and if the cats runs to you,you call the dog.

  • H σειρά μεταδόθηκε από το Μέγκα το 1990 καθώς ήταν πειρματικό κανάλι.

  • Has this song been used in Top Gear?

  • crazy ass mothas

  • People knew how to abseil in 1975??

  • ???? These guys are more like NINJAS!!!!!

  • i love this song.!!!and this serie!!!

  • The lads in the S.W.A.T team are so good-looking..!

  • I remember as a kid this theme song getting a lot of air time on the radio when the series came out.

  • When this show aired I was too young to stay up and watch it but I always remember laying awake in bed and listening to the theme song on the TV.

  • You never saw who the driver was...not until the movie version. Guess who?

  • @snufpark it was steve forrester. that clip was too short. the driver of this series was named sam. did you notice there was a blloper in this opening ? this was a great police series. the 1970's.

  • @d4seasons Steve ForrestER ?

  • @supercreamysperm oh sorry. my mistake. thank you. s. forrest is 86 yrs. old.

  • @d4seasons Yes, and he's in pretty good shape for someone that age.

  • i like scene :53-:57

  • The Ghostbusters get Guns.

  • I love scene 1:04

    Action: READY!!!

    Mode: KICK ASSS!!!

  • Robert Urich Keepin it real 1975

Rod Perry Keepin it real 1975

The Jew Keepin it real 1975

James Coleman Keepin it hard 1975

  • IF YOU KNOW THE SEASON SERIES 2 ON DVD LIVE IN ARGENTINA MY MAIL IS ADRIANMDMOYA@YAHOO.COM.AR

  • The series was MUCH better than the movie!!!!

  • i think that is not real

  • Robert Urich died too young.

Notice the sound of glass breaking before Perry breaks through?

  • They should teach should teach Rod Perry's technique of diving through a window ending in a sommersault to all police recruits!

  • was this re-used in anything?

i have heard it recently, but can't remember where.

  • @General2528342 The only thing i can think of is that the introductory was re-used in the 80's by L,L. Cool J. in his hit song called "IM BAD"

  • @General2528342 They had Will Ferrel humming part of the theme song in The Other Guy...maybe that's where you heard it?

  • Just think - it was also Robert Urich's big break!

  • Every kid in the 70`s wanted to be a SWAT member....especially that guy TJ who used to wear his hat backwards...he was the coolest back then..

  • Una deuda pendiente de mi niñez: Arrojarme a traves de una ventana con una M-16 en las manos... :D

  • JUST THINK, THIS SHOW WAS PULLED AFTER 37 EPISODES, BECAUSE THE NETWORKS SAID IT WAS TO VIOLENT. COMPARED TOO SOME OF TODAYS SHOWS, THIS WAS MILD.

  • Is there a longer version of the s.w.a.t. theme?

  • @culturepeaceforever2 Yes, there is. Check out Youtube site watch?v=cuoqZZwwgj0

  • thanks for refineing our hearing...(smiles)

  • Delivering bread in to the city

  • SWAT

    Swimming

    without

    any

    trunks :0

  • NEW KIDS

  • If you watch and listen carefully, you can hear the glass break just before he jumps through the window.

  • watch at 0:45. when he dives through the window. He lands to the right of the camera, and yet pops up on the left... here I was thinking this guy was a badass lol...

  • This was a kick ass show in the mid-late 1970s!

  • I agree with you. The ABC Television Network should have aired this program in 1973 ... and continue until 1979. I did not see the program as a young kid.

  • i wonder what the title seem like if the theme of assualt on 13th precinct was used

  • this has always been 1 of my fav themes growing up in the 70's. btw, the opening (horns) was used on LL Cool J's 87' hit single 'I'm Bad'.

  • なつかしい。

  • Fail

  • Rod Perry at 0:51 - the most unrecognizable actor ever!

    whooooooaaaaaahhhhh!

  • @PatrickMcBride65 Like the no-named guy on STAR TREK that beamed down to the planet with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy! You KNEW he was gonna to bite it! LOL

  • 42 dislikes? I dislike 42 people!!

  • that's awesome!!!

  • I loved this show as a kid! And it's still one of the collest thems songs of any show ever. Get down funky!

  • If you watch closely at 0:48, you hear the sound of broken glass just before the guy actually hits the window. But who cares! This show still beats any of the crap that is on tv today.

  • @gingermol76 yes, I remember that. That is okay. No reality TV Crap. Great music, Great show! RIP Robert Urich

  • 60s and 70s had the coolest TV theme songs

  • I'm sure many Aussies half expect Leo Wanker to be jumping out of the van

  • homos

  • is that new movie based on this show?

  • too bad the song was better than the show..... The Ups looking truck does seem lame today.

  • Awesome tv show.

  • INCREDIBLE

  • When you need help you call the police. When the police need help they call S.W.A.T!!!.......classic!!!!!!

  • @spadesjim nice quote

  • If I drove for UPS, this song would be playing all the time.

  • @nocalsteve innocent bystander- "thank you for the package, do i have to sign something?"you-" SIGN THIS!"(FRONT KICK TO THE CHEST)

  • @nocalsteve such an epic comment!!! haha

  • The other ice cream truck.

  • great tv show.. i think they should do a remake of it

  • Utterly Ridiculous and hilarious intro to the most awesome music ever.

  • 4chan party van.

  • f u c k pigs

  • So what would the first be?

  • After they send in "The Rookies" and "S.W.A.T." and they all get wasted; then they stop messing around and send in Robert Stack and "STRIKE FORCE"!!!!

  • @Yapostadodat than chuck norris came in and earth blew up.

  • the swat have a speedhack !!!

  • wont be long til UPS starts to drive swat trucks...

  • @RCSK8R lol

  • @RCSK8R LOL... I remember when I was a little kid in the 70's I thought that UPS was SWAT! Brings back many memories... hahaha

  • @p0pgunp00h really thats funny

  • @RCSK8R oh god please don't say that im a 5 year ups employee and i hate it as it is lol

  • @themooseisontheloose Actually you should put this in the suggestion box for a UPS AD. Brown trucks rolling to SWAT with guys in shorts busting thru windows with next day packages!!!

  • @RCSK8R Actually the truck in this vid looks like UPS surplus.

  • Thhis was the show in the 70's if you were a kid thats for sure. How did those guys get dressed in the back of that truck with the way that guy drives? lol

And whats up with the glass breaking before the brother hits it? What up with that? Tryin to make a brother look bad. And i love the guy leapin off the roof tops. "Here i am shoot me, i should be a big enough target:"!! These guys would be killed today in L.A. The gangs have more guns now.

  • @barmtrail The SWAT teams have more guns too.

  • @barmtrail Brother's dick hits the glass before he does.

  • @barmtrail Yes, I was a kid in the 70s and my brother and I were glued to the television to watch (among other series), SWAT ! We even bought the 45 of the theme song! That is how crazy we were about this show ! Nice memories!

  • @eurodishco

I did the same thing. I was 12 years old at the time, and I used some of my allowance money and went to the record store and bought the 45 of the theme song, and I played it over and over, and I loved the show.

  • @chipps1963 Isn't that funny, how theme songs were so important to us in the 70s? But, there was an innocence in that - something that seems lost today and it is sad. My brother and I used to play the SWAT theme over and over too !!! Our parents never complained -- nor did the neighbors apparently !

  • It took me every ounce of restraint to not do any of these moves with my M16 during Field Training back in Basic Training. But when the lights were out and the fight was on, I was really tempted.

  • love this song
