@msgreeneyez26 ... at how the stunt man launches into the wondow. But the window shatters from the muzzle of the gun hitting it first. This prevents any harm to the jumpee.
@prdawg215 Thanks! Can't help it though... that's what it reminded me of. My best friend's grand-dad worked for a bakery and drove a truck just like it - minus the paint job, of course. We begged him, but he wouldn't let us play in it. I can imagine his grand-dad slidin' that truck into the neighborhood (no ABS back then) and a bunch of us kids pouring out the doors! ;o)
I remember when SWAT teams were a new thing. Then, it was interesting that civilian police departments were adopting military-style tactics to combat problems caused by escalating crime.
When I was a police officer, I also spent some time on what we called a TRT, a Tactical Response Team. That's just one of the many names for SWAT, especially when that title itself started taking on a bad PR feel to it.
Anyway, many a time during training, I would be playing this song from my youth in my mind.
Being in S.W.A.T. is not all that it is cracked up to be, a lot of training and then just waiting in full gear until the suspect surrenders. Every now and then you actually get to have some fun. a lot of P.T. Physical Training and time at the firing range wich is all good. The electronic devices and robots are cool but for a full time job day in and day out, it takes a toll mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually...
SWAT is more or less your Special Forces for the police. I once met a guy who wanted to be on a SWAT team. I suggested he look into the Navy SEALS (it is more fun than SWAT) and he said the reason he didn't want to do that is he didn't want to join the military. Being in the military isn't always all that bad, it depends on what you're doing.
I was watching the SWAT moive the other day. I knew I had heard that theme before, but I knew I had never heard seen the TV show. Now I know where. Spoony's playthrough of SWAT 4 uses it.
@snufpark it was steve forrester. that clip was too short. the driver of this series was named sam. did you notice there was a blloper in this opening ? this was a great police series. the 1970's.

@PatrickMcBride65 Like the no-named guy on STAR TREK that beamed down to the planet with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy! You KNEW he was gonna to bite it! LOL

@barmtrail Yes, I was a kid in the 70s and my brother and I were glued to the television to watch (among other series), SWAT ! We even bought the 45 of the theme song! That is how crazy we were about this show ! Nice memories!
