The success of Sg canNOT be attributed to LKY, because back then, there is a whole team in PAP eg. Ong Pang Boon, Toh Chin Chye etc. Post 1990, when LKY runs a 1-man show in PAP with no one to moderate his extremism, sg is going down the drain. So, we must always rem: current PAP is not previous PAP.

Getting 6 times the salary of US president is hardly "a little" corruption. I think it is a lot, and the worst part is that it has been leegalised so that there is no way to get it back.

You have understated the problem. If these were "isolated", how did we end up having so many public photos taken all over Singapore? Have you not seen these elderly beggars in your everyday life every time you go out? Perhaps, It's you who are living in isolation!

Official stats show that Gini coefficient is at dangerous level of 0.48. Bottom 20% saw income decreased in past 5 yrs. Those on public assistance get only 2 meals, not 3. If 20% of poln can be called isolated, what is rampant? 90%?

Official stats show 1 suicide/day due to money problems caused by govt's import of FTrash to suppress wage, 1 elderly suicide/month due to high health cost with little public subsidy + zero welfare, both caused by govt, 1 teen suicide/month due to stressful edu system created by the govt. These suicides are NOT the result of personal problems eg love rejection!

Maybe YOU want to be the one to shoulder all the blame, since you think the govt need not take responsibility for its policies? :)

Fyi, our PM earns > leaders of Canada + USA + UK + Germany + Japan + France + Spain + Italy **COMBINED**. So shouldn't we be comparing sg to these G8? These countries also don't have kids who need to be beggars AND yet their govt costs only 1/8 of ours! Pls compare apples to apples, not oranges.

Good! But helping old ppl one by one (eg. through charity) will not solve the problem. The once-and-for-all way to help them is to have some form of welfare scheme for them. This will NOT bankrupt Sg. But PAP is against any welfare. so, to help the poor, we must 1st remove PAP. This means we need to have democracy, fair elections and free speech FIRST so that informed voters can vote freely.

How can ppl be so cruel as to vote for a party that advocates zero-welfare? Won't they get old too? :(
