  • i think youd like an rc car better xD stop taxying and flyyY!

    just kidding,nice job pal :P

  • @beeromaniac Thanks. The reason I was taxying so much was to dispel rumor on RCGroups that it would not turn without a steerable tailwheel. As you can see in the video, it turns just fine. Too bad they don't make them anymore.

Instead they have the J3 Cub. I used a yellow highlighter and a black sharpie to mimic the paint scheme of the Cub. It was lame to say the least, so I'm glad ParkZone came out with the Cub.

  • @rickgode hmm..why wouldnt it?its an ultralight plane, and with only a little rudder kick it turns like a drift car...

as for y they discontinued,i heard rumors that it happened because of a disagreement between them and kyosho...it was exactly the same as Kyosho minium...even the tx and stand...ho knows..

  • @beeromaniac Your exactly right about the rudder turning it like a drift car. That's why I made the video. A bunch of guys on RCGroups thought that it wouldn't taxi.

  • Very good job on the making of this video, it looks great! The thing is for me, I am trying to find an r/c plane for christmas and I was considering this one, but I don't have an indoor place to fly it. How well does yours work in mild wind outside?

  • Thank you. First of all, good luck finding one, as they have discontinued this model. They have a little Micro Cub that is pretty much the same thing. (I'm getting one of those too!)

It will fly in mild wind, but I wouldn't recommend it. I have this "candle" rule. If a candle can stay lit, then you can fly outside. I wouldn't fly it unless it is absolutely dead calm outside. Which it is at night most of the time.

Any sort of wind bounces it around and makes it very difficult to fly.

  • Do you recomend it? what's the trick variety?

  • I recommend it 100%!!! It depends on how well you can fly. If you know what your doing and can do 3D then this plane will bore you. But, E-Flite has another micro called the Micro 4-Site. I haven't flown it, but have seen videos and it is AMAZING. I already have 3D foamies that can fly like the 4-Site, but the thing is tiny and looks to be able to do any 3D maneuver you throw at it.

E-Flite doesn't make the Citabria or Cessna anymore, but they have come out with a Cub around the same size.

  • Hey, thanks for replying. I will check out the 4-Site, and nice flying.

  • Like the way you do a lot of touch and go's.

  • Thanks! Touch & Go's with this plane are a snap and a ton of fun.

  • is it possible to put a faster engine in?

  • You might be able to. Parkzone has a new Sukhoi and a micro mustang that are really fast. I don't think that this little Citabria was meant to fly all that fast.

  • Where can i get one?

  • Do a search for "ParkZone Micro Citabria" in Google and see what comes up. Depending where you are, it might be a good idea to check out a local hobby shop that stocks them. You wont find these in Walmart or Target.

  • i searched for it in walmart but i think i should try toys r us!

  • Sorry, but you wont find this in Toys-R-Us. This is 'hobby grade' equipment. Now at Walmart or Toys-R-Us you can get an Airhogs aeroace or something like that. Mine flies really well indoors. But you will have to go to a specialty hobby shop to find this little RC plane.

  • Oh okay...thanks bro! =]

  • GOONIES!!!!!

  • Does it only have rudders to turn with ?

  • Yup rudder only. That's really all you need with this thing. In a couple of months they are coming out with a Sukhoi that has both ailerons and rudder.

  • when it comes in the box are the decals already on her?

  • Yep, it is ready to go out of the box.

  • Very excellent flying, by the way i have the vapor as a trainer just to get used to the flying, but do you think this would be a good next step for some real flying? because the vapor doesn't turn like the other big nitro-fueled planes but i hear thia one does

  • Thank you. This plane would be good, or even the Ember. But let me be perfectly clear these are nothing like nitro planes. I've had 7 and two still fly. The Citabria or Ember will help you with speed and orientation and overall flying time, but what it wont help you with is WIND or building techniques and setup. These little planes are for indoor fun and they will give you a lot of it.

  • yes, but do these turn like the nitro planes?

  • Well, yes and no. Most nitro planes have aileron and rudder. Both the vapor and the Citabria have the rudder control on the 'aileron stick' which mimics the control of a nitro. Flying this is going to help you, but it is a different kind of fun with the nitros. You can see my hangar at

  • i just got one i LOVE it i took your advise and go the mcx battery and i flew non stop for

    30 min!thanks a lot rick!do you want me to make a vid?

  • Well, not video and fly at the same time :-) Get someone to shoot while you fly! I don't think there is a market anymore for the 70 mAh batteries anymore. They are a perfect fit in this AND the Vapor.

  • are you using a stock battery or a more power full one?

  • It is the stock 70mAh battery that came with it. I am now using the 110mAh batteries that go with the Blade MCX. I can't really tell a performance increase, but the flights are much longer.

  • but does it fly faster?

  • No it doesn't fly any faster, just longer. In fact, sometimes I wish it flew a little bit slower, like my Vapor.

  • I love mine. i have a climb prop on mine, and mine will do rolls.

  • Can't wait for my new Citabria to come in the mail! I got it off of eBay for $80 Canadian! Looks like an awesome little plane... I plan on flying mine in the university gym. Great flying in this video, but you hold on a little too long on your loops. Let go of the elevator a bit earlier so you come out straight instead of nose up.

  • You will LOVE it. For me, it was kinda hard to do loops. It doesn't loop like any other plane I've had. I also don't really practice doing loops with this thing. I have more fun doing touch and go's.

  • Hey great video. I have one question though, I was flying m Citabria one day at the park and all of a sudden a gust of wind took my plane and whisked it about 100 feet away. I lost the signal from the transmitter and the plane divebombed into the ground. The plastic part of the propeller broke off the metal shaft and that was it. I don't want to pay for a new propeller from ParkZone and I want to fly my plane soon. Do you know any good ways of sticking it back on? Thanks. Colin

  • Thanks Colin. I would suggest doing a search on RCGroups(dot)com. This website has a wealth of information on RC planes. I did a quick search for Citabria Prop Repair and came up with a link that I posted on the description of this video. I hope this helps you out.

  • buy a new propeller shaft and a propeller, the propeller shaft has a tendency to get bent on impact... That what i heard at least...

  • BAH HUMBUG! buy it glueing and such will only add weight or disturb the CG.

  • Great flying, got me interested in getting one now if I can find one locally.
