i went there right after the trees had been cut down and i cried, and that lady in the video came and started talking to me and she was very nice and sweet.

anyway,people who cut down trees are just...well, horrible really. And cops who arrest ppl with a cause are only a bit better. Isnt it weird how in america ppl seem to like cops?

Most of you commented on the environmental side of this sit but what you failed to know is that these trees sit on sacred Native American burial grounds, the corps will be dug up. Can you imagine how this would go over if it were the burial grounds of important European Americans who serviced the nation either in war or political office? These tree sitters are trying to create a movement that goes beyond these two trees and represents different issues.

Five out of the six sitters that got arrested were not even Berkeley students. There are a lot of people out there looking for fame, or to be the center of a "cause" that waste a lot of time and energy that could be spent doing actual good. Not that protesting landscaping isn't a worthy cause.
