The backwards cap is merely a ''meme'' picked up because it is popular and beneficial to survival. An organism views its peer and other species actions. If they see somethind done that is safe/helpful they are likely to commit the same action. Monkey see monkey do has its plus and minus'.

Dawkins was still right.. the Ninja Turtles died out for over a decade and were revived by a vested interest. That's still evolutionary - as is the change in baseball-wearing style.
