because fighter planes take off and land all the time at hickam and the airport isnt shut down. if air force one carrying the president was landing, that plane would land on a runway closest to the guard side of the base near 10 row and taxi to the red carpet. it isnt like AF1 is just gonna pop in unannounced, so the airport isnt going to disrupt its flight schedules.

first off, any airplane carrying the president is "air force one" regardless of the color. hickam afb has DV (distinguished visitor) planes that look just like what you are calling "air force one" and this plane in the video that lands all the time. the airport is not "shut down" when these planes land either,

@solonkid710 PR, and there are really no private airports in Hawaii that has a long runway. Usually when in the US Air Force One lands are AFB's if going to a city that has one. When they do fly to major airports like Atlanta or Honolulu they have to shut down the airport prior to arrival due to security reasons, and it is an inconvenience to airlines

I was on EWA beach when this aircraft went over our heads. It was completely amazing to see it. You could tell that it was in the area because a plane hadn't landed in 15 minutes so you know something had to be going down.

While he was driving around in Hickam AFB one of his motorcade drivers flipped over on his motorcycle and was crushed. It wouldn't have happened if he hadn't made a stop in Hawaii. As for traffic all the roads that he had to travel on were closed for hours.
