  • it´s amazing that a raven really sound like a human if he repeat a sentence....

  • I don't think he likes saying "Who's a good bird".

  • Whosagoburd

  • ...wut did yawl call me? lol jp

  • what's up dog?

  • Is he still alive? Is he making progress?

  • @skillcapeemoteplz Yes he is still alive but will never be able to be released due to his injury.

  • @1burdladee what happened to him?:(

  • Wondering where this american bird got his English accent lol

  • The crow is thinking...Can somebody take this creepy guy outta here?

  • How long does it take them to learn? How hard is it? How complex can they get? Can they learn the meaning of the words(ex: food, good, bad, come)?

I want to teach mine to say "Help I've been turned into a bird!" or "Winter is coming."

  • Aww, he's camera shy.

  • are there special races that can speak, or is every raven capable of speaking?

  • @BennyxXxBenassi

Each species can speak to some extent :) Even crows can, although the Common Raven (Corvus corax) is the species which has one of the broadest capability of vocalization.

  • Who needs ketchup or catsup when there's WOTSUP

  • Oh lord, if I had a Raven, I'd teach it to say. "Give me your soul"

  • So you're teaching him to say 'Nevermore' right?

  • I believe in my state Ravens, Crows are Illegal to own

  • ravens are smart he can say whats up i never thought this was real.

  • You should give him a treat every time he says something you want him to say. Then it'd be a lot easier.

  • Do they bite much?

  • I think he wants WATER...

  • good for you! for i am sure that this will finally show the world that they need our help.

  • Why didn't he talk? He can mimic the guy perfectly! But he just keeps sayin' "Helllloo".

  • i've heard ravens raised from captivity make epic good pets

  • He is camera shy

  • He has his fathers voice.

  • IS THAT REAL HOLY CRAP

  • He says wassup ?haha

  • I fondly remember a raven that was at a small zoo, who was very affectionate and talkative. Sadly he died, and his replacement wasn't too friendly. But that was a few years ago, so maybe this one's more sociable now. I'll have to pay another visit now to find out.

  • "Who's a good bird? :D"

    "Not me. D:" -shuffles away-

  • cute bird :3

  • If I was to get a "wild animal permit" would I be able to own a raven or crow?

  • WHATSUP

  • Cute. Cool voice.

He looks like he longs for the great outdoors, though I'm sure it's my imagination.

    You are very kind people.

  • That Raven is amazing. Ravens are the smartest birds. They are so amazing.

  • Man: "Who's a good bird?" *long pause* Raven:" Huh? " Oh how many moments I have been like that. He is beautiful bird and hope to see a lot more like him.

  • so adorable

  • Gotta teach him to say WHAAAAAZUUUUUP?? xD

  • Aaawhhh, what a perfect name for such a beautiful raven!

  • Birds look electronic somtimes when they look around.. xD

    In my opinion/

  • @BenMan1231 then what explains their voice to sound like microsoft sam

  • @Treehugger1027 Their muscles and how they control them to make a certain call.

  • Are they hard to take care of? what do they eat?

  • @50CalPaintballSniper Ravens are scavengers so they will eat just about anything. We feed him rats, mice and left over table scraps like fish and chicken. Ravens are long lived birds. We got Julian before he was a year old so he will be a life time commitment for us.

  • @1burdladee Wow.. yeah I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada. How do I get one?

  • @50CalPaintballSniper In the US it is illegal to "own" any wild bird. We have Julian because he is unreleasable due to his injuries. We are only allowed to do this because we have an educational permit that allows us to keep unreleasable birds for educational purposes only. We do not condone or encourage keeping any wild animals as "pets". There are non native hybrid ravens that can be purchased from breeders but you should check the laws in Canada first.

  • @1burdladee Well said and well done. Keep up your good works.

  • @1burdladee Surely you have felt the rightness of your relationship with this bird? How can you agree with the insane idea that having pets is wrong? I think all pets should be allowed lovers and the chance to run around, but if they keep coming back, they're pets.

  • @1burdladee yeah, im thinking of calling my local bird sanctuary do see if they have any that are not able to fly. Thanks for everything you have been great!

  • "warchork"?

  • @thestrugglewithin Quoth the raven "WHATS UUUPPP!??"

  • not like that raven....like this: Wazzzupppp

  • Thats amazing. Beautiful Raven you have there sir! i heard you have to surgically cut the tongue of the bird a bit to get it to mimic. not sure if its true or not but did you have to? or do Ravens have this ability naturally?

  • @GothicAfroman That was a practice done years ago thinking a bird would speak better with a cut tongue. It is extremely cruel and inhumane. Corvids(ravens, crows, bluejays etc.) are natural mimics. And yes we think Julian is beautiful too. Thanks for your interest.

  • its like he's singing lol

  • Dude, RAD! Thats so cool!

  • How does i like the cold weather>? Do you just leave Julian out in the snow?

  • @50CalPaintballSniper Ravens actually love the snow. Check out Julian Playing in the Snow Pt1 or 2

  • @50CalPaintballSniper I live in Iqaluit, Canadian Arctic, and Ravens are all up in this place. They're huge! -And they have such a weird vocal range.

  • most enthusiastic wussup iv ever heard in my life

  • whats up!

  • Maybe this joke has been said, but im going to say it anyway.

This bird should have a video of him saying 'never more.'

  • One day... Human language will be universal to most animals...

  • the first time the raven said Whats up, I thought it was you. lol

  • thats awesome!

  • whats up? :D :D :D

  • This is sad :(

  • Kewl! I think we've found our new White House Press Secretary!

  • Giggles @ commet below.

  • Nothing, sitting here, watching the game, smoking some bud :D you should teach her to say WAZZZAAAAP

  • Have you taught him to say "Nevermore" yet?

  • I had know idea ravens could speak this clearly. I've heard them talking before but usually it sounds more like normal cawing and never like this. Wow. So awesome!

  • He seems a bit jaded to me.

  • Does he just imitate the tonality of the speaker who taught him the words? Could he potentially imitate a female or male voice equally well?

  • @zazzyzulu He actually does speak in a higher voice that sounds like my wife. In one of his vids he speaks in both voices while talking to my wife.

  • Sure sounds like a dude talking...

  • Best mimickers! A raven at our zoo talks to me XD

  • teach it to say "Nevermore"

  • what's up! ^_^ Julian is a beautiful raven.

  • that is the scariest thing ever

  • Is it possible to domesticate a breed of ravens? If so, why haven't there been a domesticated breed developed yet? I'd love to have one. I know the process is likely long and hard though. I remember reading of a Russian program attempting to domesticate foxes. They succeeded on a small scale, but lacked the funding to continue, which I think is a shame. Somehow the domestication process turned the typically orange/red fur to an interestingly silver/blue color. I hope their methods were ethical.

  • i love crows they get such a bad rap but they are so beautiful and intelligent :)

  • Wonderful voice! I thought it was the cameraman at first. Cool name, too.

  • If a bird landed next to me and asked what was up, I would run away screaming. XD

  • whats up? lol

  • its sad that Julian can't be released but i'm glad that your taking care of him. I'll never try to keep a wild animal as a pet.

  • ok...this absolutely scares the crap outta me

  • @PrayerWarrior4Him It is against the law to keep a Raven (or any other type of native bird) as a "pet". We are wildlife rehabilitators with a special purpose permit from the federal government to keep non-releasable birds for educational purposes only. We stress in our educational programs very strongly that no wild animal should be kept as a pet. It takes many hours of work and a lot of dedication to keep these birds as educational tools. Rehab and release is our main goal.

  • @1burdladee im not from the US so i dont know, why is it illegal to own a native bird as a pet?

  • @1burdladee shut up

  • You know, for a bird, he has a wonderful accent:) Very good diction:)

  • or listen to audience

  • My brother says that you should teach Julian to say "Nevermore."

    XD

  • haha son lui..

    ravens = Lui's XD

  • Teach him to recite 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe and you'll make a fortune--LOL.

  • @DiGiTaLdAzEDM It would be badass enough if they could get him to say "nevermore."

  • thats not nice...i think the raven is mocking the man.

  • So cool;)

  • Ravens are so cool

  • My brain keeps telling me that this is fake. He is repeating what is said eerily well.

  • He actually speaks in both my voice as well as my wife's voice. Ravens are extremely intelligent and are great mimics. The vid is not fake we have much better things to do with our time. Thanks for the interest.

  • I think i's a mix of having no idea that ravens could do this combined with having the video play in the background. Without looking at the video it's quite difficult to distinguish who is saying what.

  • In that video he is only repeating "What's Up" in the beginning of the vid and then he says "Hello" very softly near the end. You can tell when he speaks when he kind of hunkers down and his wings come out . We have a few other vids of him posted if you want to check them out.

  • @Badgerman5 They can certainly talk like this, and their voices ARE very eerie.

  • @EmperorofCartoons Ahaha, nearly forgot about this. I'm now looking out of my window for a crow in the distance asking me 'what's up?'

  • yah that would be good in an deep ironic sorta way

  • ive been searching for a raven like that all over youtube :P

  • who's a good bird

    that really scare's me >O

  • IMAO!!

julian: hello, what's up? XD ROFLMAO XD

    omg i love this raven <33333333 i rated 5 stars+fav :D
