Lovely, Danny! I scored 38 in the AQ test -don't know where I fall in the great scheme of things, but as an adult, I don't damn care anymore! I now understand why I was 'different' as a kid, the class nerd, the social outcast, Phys Ed drongo etc! As an adult, I am articulate, extremely knowlegeable, precise, focused, capable, artistic, have a great memory, hate indoors, love detail in good photography, high achiever, hate noise/bright lights, love pastels.. more to be thankful for than regret!!
You should get on Google Plus, it's becoming a hot spot for photographers and they have Hangouts (video conferencing with up to 9 people at the same time) and share their works, have workshops, talk about photography stuff. plus dot google dot com
If he has trouble pciking up on body language, he should eat some cubensis. It may turn out horribly wrong, but the effects could be positively life-changing.
My daughter is on the spectrum. Last year she tried to sell books on Amazon but was late shipping the books. They permanately deleted her account. However, they have deleted MY account, her mother just after a week that I created it this August. They told me "do not bother writing back". They punish an entire household. Do NOT use Amazon. They also refuse to reimburse me for the shipping I paid for. I told them about ASD and they didn't care. I have followed all Amazon rules.
@martinheideggershut As people with aspergers get older they get more "normal" in a sense because they learn what others are born knowing. What is instinctual to most, people with AS can acquire through experience.
I'm very picky on how long I can be around people though. After a while i just say, "Shoo, go away, i want some me time." Maybe thats normal. Anyone reading the comments, Asperger's isn't the same as retarded. Mine is just a very mild case. Almost not there. Thats how I see it.
@MillenniumRequiem Being alone at times is actually very normal. It gives us peace and quiet of our mind and makes us feel refreshed when we're under stress from work at times or if we've been bullied
I developed jsut like other people, but i display some mild Asperger's. It doesn't stop me from making a lot of freinds. All it does is make me picky about colors and how they arranged and grouped, and I actually enjoy being on the outside looking in as he says it. Somtimes. You get a better veiw.
If he didn't speck till he was 4 years old, wouldn't that class you as High-functioning Autistic, not Asperger's syndrome? other than that, a really good documentary.
@01stanbk i didn't speak until i was four (i'm 50 now).. then it was in complete sentences... no intermediate stages and no baby talk. i don't believe i saw the need (still don't) and i needed to have it all in order before actually doing it. i don't know about autism with regard to this, but maybe those details explain a difference (i'm an aspie)... i have a physics degree now and make my living as a photo-realist artist. i am currently in my fourth year of 9-11 research.
Love the photoes!!! The detail, and sort of lack of detail at the same time... and also the balance / harmony in them - they make me calm... Thanks!!!
i also have this condition ( i hate calling it a desease, i love beeing like this!) i have most of the disorders that people are talking here, but so much less in power, i can control them if i want.. i Self diagnosed when i saw a documentary, i instantly recognized the synptoms in me.. i had difficulties communicating until i was almost 3 but it seems that something happened during that time, i didnt became as different as some people are.. but i´m glad i have asperger´s in the end
@DeviousLittleFox I hae it too, but with me I cannot look people in the eyes and this has been a problem since I was little, even now it causes problems as people think I am rude but I just can't do it as I find it intimidating, I always thought I was weird and was called clumsy and thick, but now I know I am not and I am ok with being different.
I also tend to organise colours too, like a bag of jelly beans would be sorted into colours before eating, Lol xxxx
@michellesvideosuk People can also interpret the eyes thing as being dishonest (you're lying, you can't even look me in the eyes!) I always hated that.
Those photos were nothing but amazing!
