I really hope that after the CEOs marty brickey and producer mike turner who stole everything to the IP that a lawsuit is successful, I think activision set a bad precedent by making it seem okay for publishers and producers of video games to treat the developer end like this, namely completely ignoring contractual agreements. Art is not free, and unlike unskilled labor replacements are a dime a dozen, or even possible to replace in many cases because of the uniqueness of each artist.
@sonikku35 I've played Football Superstars before but it was better in 2009 when you had a whole city and 14 teams competing. Now they reduced that to 4 teams and a small, unsignificant area where you can't do anything at all. It's just boredom. At least in Interzone Futebol you had a whole city not just a small area. If FS is meant to be the only football MMO game in this world, then at least they should make it like it was back in 2009 with more teams and a larger area such as a whole city.
This is what comes of ripping of someone elses idea, I have been playing Football Superstars since BETA and the game just gets better and better. Seeing these jokers fold is no surprise $500k AUD for 3 years dev..? I think the FS guys have invested around $17m AUD over the same period...! I do however feel sorry for all the workers & their families as they have been treated very badly, I hope the man at the top gets his comeuppance...!
@800bhp Ummm... no. The AU$500k is what people are owed, not the total investment. That's closed to AU$30m. And, if you do your math, you'll see that the Interzone futebol game was in development *before* Football Superstars was announced. So how could we be ripping them off? Huh?
800bhp Interzone were developing this idea from early 2006. They invested over 30 million dollars. The only reason it failed is because their management are criminals - that's what it looks like based on the news story anyway.
- Longtime IZ Futebol player - I played the Brazil AND the Australian beta, and I think it was a superior game to FS, based on on-field gameplay, anyway. Nobody cares about teh "social" shit.
Technically part of the IP must be owned by the employees. At least the portions they weren't paid for yet. Meaning the employees should be able to either claim royalties, or bar the game from being sold.

Football Superstars is MILES better than this.. and it is running with thousands of people playing it!

@mpain69 I prefer the anime-like looks of the characters here over the gritty looks of the one in FS. It also looks like you could do alot more here.

I wonder what the problems were? Football Superstars is the same type of game and that's doing okay.
