Ever since I first heard this awesome song on the radio about twenty years ago, I've periodically woken up with it going through my head. Sure got some staying power!
Saw him in Oklahoma City 15 years ago at a blues festival and never herd of him before. He was way down the playlist, but when he come out it was unbelievable. He didnt play the guitar he attacked it!The first place I went was to buy his CD.Been a fan ever since!!
I saw Robert 6/16/11, over the last years I've seen him he does not do Forecast calls for Pain. But I love this song. Smoking Gun & Poor Johnny still on the play list. I don't know exactly how old this video is but the same bass player was with him last night.
@DeniseAnnal1961 That's interesting because I saw him warm up for Eric Clapton about 6 years ago and he did this song. I wonder why he doesn't play it anymore.
If you like this you should search Youtube for The Alan Scott Band. Not only does he bring the combination of great vocals but rarely will you hear a better guitarist. Check it out. You wont be disappointed.
Don't know why I can't get enough RC he is just too cool and tells a story like no other man can! Love him X My baby's turnin cold and the forecast calls for pain! X He's great in concert too sounds just like his CD's a hard thing to accomplish! ♥
Love this man,he is still awesome, only get's finer with time ♥ He is one of the best guitarists/story tellers on Earth! And even live in concert he replicates the sound on his finest CD's ♥ Love you Robert ♥ Donna ♥
@msstevie1951 Wow, I really can't add anything to this because you took all of the words right out of my mouth.....exactly what I would have said. His story telling IS, in my opinion, fantastic. I've seen him live quite a few times since the 80's and he has never disappointed. I try to track when he's in the area so I never miss a show. I can see him over and over and over.......
@pattif1239 I absolutely love Robert Cray and agree with you,I could go see him every week and still not get bored ♥ He is just amazing and it seems to come natural and from his soul.I was so close to him at the concert I could see his fingers on the guitar strings and he does play like he was born with it in his hands. His voice is so perfect and he still sounds as young & strong as he did in the 80's ♥
@racecarrr are you kidding me this man is amazing, you evidently appreciate, good blues, I mean Eric Clapton and BB King have nothing but praise for this man and all you can say is he is to adult contemporary, you evidently do not appreciate or recognize artistry when you see or hear it.
@racecarrr adult contemporary commercial boring? Cray can write a story like not too many people can. I can only assume that maybe you haven't been exposed to a wide sampling of his material ( not very much here on you tube) and definitely haven't been fortunate enough to see him live so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here? I have seen him live many times and he never disappoints.Maybe you're just not a blues fan? I've been following his music since the 80's. Will continue to do so.
@pattif1239 I was blessed to turn 21 and live in Eugene, Oregon the year Robert began his career here. I saw him live in small venues many times. I knew this guy was destined for bigger things. He had it all...he was warm and charismatic, writes amazing songs that tell a story, has a smooth voice with range and maybe best of all, is his guitar playing ability! He can almost make that guitar talk..to really appreciate his talent..see him live. You will be glad you did.
I LOVE ROBERT CRAY Best concert I've ever been to. He is so natural on that guitar I believe he was born with it in his hands. He is one of the best players and singer/song writers ever.I love how his songs all tell a story and seem to come from his heart.Just can't say enough about him and his talents. Thanks for this post!
Robert has an amazing voice and equally great chops. The tone is amazing but it is so simple. Its just a hardtail strat' into a fender twin. I could listen to this for hours.

Can you say, grrrrrrooooooooovvvve????!!!
Last time I got to see Robert, Eric, and Stevie Ray were on stage together...
Woke up to hear the heart breaking news Stevie was killed in a helicopter crash.
My God, it was unbelievably foggy on the ride home; couldn't see anything!
A helicopter that night? Never should have happened, period.
