What a fantastic video! I just went out for Korean food for the very first time yesterday, and had a delicious bowl of bibim naeng myun. I enjoyed seeing how to make it at home! You're a fantastic instructor. Can't wait to watch your other videos.
I have this at home all the time, if your mul kimchi is epic as my mom's all you need is the soup from mul kimchi (dilute with some water) and just add noodle. Seriously don't need other stuff, natural original taste!
Is the bag powder at 4:33 the same as the broth you made at 4:19? Like you made the broth by yourself with all the ingredients but is it the same if you just mix that bag with water?
@uyenous yes, you can use the soup powder to make broth. Mix it with water and kimchi juice. Or You can make your own broth by boiling beef or chicken.
there aren`t any korean markets with good quality and quantity in MA. ): i saw your video and it reminded me of a song , haha . SNSD Jessica & Myung Soo - Naengmyun ( cold noodles) ~
You will not believe it but i served this today to my parents who normally eat traditional german food like Schweinsbratenten with Klößen or Bratwurst with Sauerkraut- they LOVED it!
I would never have expected to see my father eat cold noodles!
i went to korean restaurant and i order cold noodle (it has buckwheat) and I notice you don't add vinegar or apple cinder vinegar. A korean waitress gave me the little bottle and I asked what is that, she said it's vinegar. Told me to add into the noodle. It was sooo good with vinegar! I think it's very healthy but it taste like apple cinder vinegar. I'm wondering if this is the same type of cold noodle that can add vinegar?
@KewpieGirl yes. but it's a condiment that can be added after you cook the food. not everyone likes vinegar. I guess maangchi doesn't like to add it either
Thank you once again Maanchi! My husband enjoyed this recipe very much (the spicy version)! I'm really craving Yangam Chicken and Spiky Korean Chicken too, but I can't seem to find any receipes for it. Do you have any recipes for these on your blog?
Hi Maangchi! I love Korean food and my wife who is also Korean. We both enjoy cooking and your intructions are great. We wonder if you have a recipe for beef "jumuluk". It is almost summer time and we have a small back yard and want to make this at home with friends. We make samgyup sal often during the winter time with an electric grill but we wish for a good marinade for jumuluk to cook over charcoal.
@jmatamusk James and Doyoung! Thank you very much for your nice message.
Check my "grilled beef" recipe. Prepare tenderloin beef and slice it rather than cuting it into chunks. Then add salt (very little), minced garlic, and chopped green onion. Mix it all together by hand.(In korean this step is called "jumulleok"" : )
@ilovekpop906 This broth is my favorite! Some people use beef or chicken stock which is more traditional. Some people use anchoy stock (myulchi gukmul). Thank you for your comment. I will think about making naengmyun video using chicken and beef stock someday.

Our Asian supermarket in Germany got no naengmyun! So I just bought japanese soba, because it says on the cover "buckwheat noodles", and no yeolmu as well. I just bought radish instead. :-(

I want to make this, but I don't think I can handle that much hot pepper. Maybe just a few tablespoons of red pepper flakes will keep the yummy flavor.

Yes, more authentic style of naengmyun made with beef stock and dongchimi (radish water kimchi) is not posted yet. This cold noodle is just simple to make using yeolmu water kimchi. Thank you!
probably my favorite korean dish. I have always wondered why it is only seasonal at my local korean restaurant though.

hoho,34 seconds ago, you left this comment. We're at the computer at the same time! : )
Yes, more authentic style of naengmyun made with beef stock and dongchimi (radish water kimchi) is not posted yet. This cold noodle is just simple to make using yeolmu water kimchi. Thank you!
