  • I have read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and (for me) it fails the Giggle Test. On the other hand, I'm in my mid50s and I have yet to meet a Mormon who wasn't a decent human being (& I have met quite a few)

  • The end always gives me chills

  • The end always gives me chills.

  • if there were actual mormons around here and they sang that i just might?

  • I love the harmony at the end. Amazing.

  • I would actually convert to Mormonism if they were actually this dedicated to their door-to-door work.

  • Mormons don't believe in hell

  • @36winters You're right. They believe in Spooky Mormon Hell.

  • @36winters They believe in a planet called Hell.

  • I saw mormons at shopko and almost started singing this!

  • I was really confused for a second and trying hard to keep up... then I realized I opened it in two windows.

  • I'm from a small town called Chorley in the UK/. Myles Standish came from here. I had beautiful Mormon girlfriend. Then silly things happened and thats why I am an atheist.

  • The harmony was amazing!

  • ETERNAL LIFE (JESUS CHRIST) IS SUPER FUN!

  • It was because of this musical, I converted :)

  • HELLO WOULD YOU LIKE TO CHANGE RELIGIONS AND HAVE A FREE BOOK WRITEN BY JESUUuus

  • "Have fun hell" hahahaha

  • That harmony.. just wow...

  • This reminds me so much of marching dwarves with pickaxes.

I love you Matt and Trey!

  • too funny

  • "ding dong... hello, my name is elder XYZ... ding dong..."

dude, i served my mission in africa and didn't run across a whole hell of a lot of DOORBELLS!

  • @rtardbox they're not in Africa yet at this point...

  • i just raped the replay button,

  • so you won't burn in HEEELLLLLLLLLLL-OOOO!(:

  • Comment removed

  • @annkonstantinov It was written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, did you expect it to be completely accurate?

  • "so you wont burn in hheeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEELLLOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • "So you won't burn in-"

    "HELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

  • I think Hell is a fun place. At least I know I'll meet pretty much everybody I know down there. So it can't be that bad.

  • @PeachIntoxication Hey maybe we can grab a bite to eat there sometime!

  • if god is all loving why does he send people to hell...

  • @Rozelkyia Because they sinned.

  • @Rozelkyia He only hurts you because he cares. "Why you always gotta make me hit you, baby?"

  • 'Hello!' 'Hi~' Favourite part. <3

  • @xZexionIenzox I love "Have fun in hell!" "Hey now!"

  • Hello, my name is Haley Todd. And I would like to share with you a fucking history book. It has a lot of information you could really use.

  • this sounds SO much like South Park - but at the same time not at all. LOVE.

  • @LaurenS419 The whole play was written by the creators of South Park - Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

  • @ronaldl911 I know :-)

  • i love mormons! idk what you people think but i think they're so funny and amazing:) and some people might not like them but to me they are some of the nicest people i know!

  • @believinganddreamin1 I bet they are but you shouldn't be so general because alot of mormons put money into prop 8 to take away same sex from cali. i'm sure some of them are really nice just don't be so general cause people can get really angery when stuff is used in general terms. :)

  • @CandyApple410 "You shouldn't be so general."

"A lot of mormons put money into prop 8."

    lol.

  • if elders knocked on my door and started yodeling in a 4 part harmony, i probably would not shut the door in their face

  • @bbat4ever9000 Its been done, sorry :)

  • @bbat4ever9000 Wait... Yodeling?

  • @Drakethatsme yodolayhe mormons!

  • @Drakethatsme definition of yodeling is to sing in a way that changes between a high voice and a regular voice, they start to do that at about 2:17 (c'mon u can almost imagine the scene from snow white and the seven dwarves when the dwarves begin to to yodel. Yodeling is just a vocal technique, It doesnt mean you need to be in the swiss alps with overalls and a didgeridoo advertising Ricola..wow I think Im taking this too far..yes yodeling, and its quite cool

  • LOVED THIS ON BROADWAY!! GO SEE IT!!

  • MAKE INTO MOVIE!

  • This song would be better if it rhymed in the beginning

  • @pirateXhunterXzoro The phrases do rhyme.

  • Hello! my name is -Jesus Christ- You have lovely home!

    thank you Jesus... :)

  • Hellooooooooooooooooooooo =)

  • This musical is seriously helping me cope with my crazy mormon family. It's really hard being the black sheep in a utah-mormon family and I feel like this musical lets me identify with the larger culture in america all while having a laugh at a real issue in my life. It's strange to think that this silly musical could actually MEAN something to someone, but it does to me.

  • Comment removed

  • @BarefootArizona Why would you reply to @Baldurthegood like that? All they said was that this musical has given them some pleasure and helped them deal.. I think that's a good thing. Your comment was totally unwarranted.

  • @BarefootArizona I can see you're speaking from experience.

  • @Baldurthegood No, I removed my comment. I'm sorry, that was out of line. Have a good weekend...

  • cute song!

  • @Quebedify it's absurdly cute!! :D

  • I love this song and Mormons!

  • I don't believe it is very Christ-like to be making fun and spreading false beliefs of other religions

  • @daa976 You're so right! That's not really what Mormons believe. I'm one, I would know

  • @Naturally101 I'm Mormon as well :)

  • @daa976 You do realise that being Christ-like isn't on the forefront of everybody's minds.

  • @daa976 its just for fun

  • I say the missionaries should convert people Age of Empires style, by ringing t doorbells and saying: "WOLOLO"

  • This song totally made me laugh out loud! Awesome!!!

  • im so singing this song the next time a mormon comes to my house

  • @amoskowitz0103 Troll Much?

  • I'm Mormon, and I really want to see this musical. I've heard most of the songs, and laughed through the entire thing.

  • ahah Mormons take this so offensively. If it was ANY other religion a Mormon would laugh. Can't anyone just find humility in things? If there is a god, I'm sure he'd tell all you religious prudes to sit back and chill...

  • @xoxomissarixoxo Anybody can choose to take this song and musical in general offensively. To be offended is a choice. Speaking from my standpoint, I do not appreciate that an entire musical has been introduced as entertainment regarding some of our most sacred truths. To me, they aren't something to be thrown on Broadway. I haven't seen the musical and don't plan to, but I know for a fact that one will only ever come to know the Book of Mormon by reading it with true intent and an open mind.

  • I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and this is totally not how they do things. I just hope this musical will spike people's curiosity about what the Book of Mormon really is, and not take some Atheist's view of what it is for truth.

  • Are you saying you don't believe Ancient Jews built boats and sailed to America, despite there being no evidence of their being here?

  • @Jinxerz010792 No evidence. What are you drunk and uneducated or just uneducated? There is nothing but evidence that this happened. Where have you been?

  • In the real world. Which dystopian version of reality have you been in where there's evidence of Ancient Jewry in the United States? I mean, they didn't even have the technological ability to build a boat that would be able to make a trip to the States, let alone one that would be capable of holding enough people to form a Jewish Colony in the Mid-West. Furthermore, there's been no relics discovered of this supposed colony, other than the infamous Golden Plates which don't exist anymore.

  • @Jinxerz010792 There is a actually quite a bit of evidence of ancient Jewry on the North American continent... of course, if you close your mind to these things, you'll never now. Take a look at the "Central Band of Cherokee" tribe and the DNA evidence that links them back to the middle east.

  • @amoskowitz0103 of course I meant "never know" not "never now" ... Slip of the finger on the keyboard...

  • Considering all of Humanity can be traced back to North Africa and the Fertile Crescent by DNA, your argument comes off as very non-compelling. Besides, if those Cherokees were related to Jews, then why would they transform their lifestyles from cultured and civilized to Nomadic hunter-gatherers? Surely if natives had been descended from Jews from the period you describe, some aspect of their technology and civilization would have come with them. Yet the evidence we find is contrary to this.

  • @Jinxerz010792 Well, now there you are! If you want to know how that happened, read the Book Of Mormon. It explains quite a bit. I don't know if you're a Christian or not, but if you are, do you think that Christ would have ONLY visited the people that were on the earth in the middle east and ignore the ones that were here during that time period.

Either from an archeological or theological standpoint it doesn't make sense that the BoM is NOT true. It makes total sense that it IS true.

  • @Jinxerz010792 ...and like with everything else, it's not really responsible to criticize something that you don't understand. Here's what I tell people - don't believe me, don't believe the missionaries, don't believe anyone else... Learn what it is that the LDS religion is all about and then ask God if it's true. But until you understand what it is you are asking, it's an exercise in futility.

Of course if you are an atheist, that's an entirely different issue altogether. Good luck to you!

  • @Jinxerz010792 In the meantime, we are not muslims... I personally enjoy the satire of "The Book Of Mormon - the Musical"... Enjoy the music!

  • Er, no, you see it doesn't make sense from an archaeological standpoint. The Ancient Jews from the time you describe didn't have had the materials or the seafaring knowledge necessary to build a boat that could make a trip around either Cape Horn, or the cape of Good Hope, let alone be prepared to deal with the climates in those far southern areas.

And yes I believe Christ only appeared in the Middle East. Why do you think so many natives died when the settlers came to America?

  • @Jinxerz010792 The Mormons already beat you to the punch: everyone in the book of mormon who sailed across the pacific was shown by god how to get there.

  • See, now this is where you and I see things differently. Because one: No one has ever been given knowledge by God that wasn't freely available at the time they were told. Two: No one has demonstrably shown that God indeed has talked to them, or been able to provide evidence that said God has been in contact with them. Thus, I'm unwilling to buy that God kept hundreds, if not thousands of people on a ship from freezing to death/dying of thirst/malnutrition as they made a trip to the US.

  • Wow. Superb argument. I don't believe the same thing as you do, ergo I'm a dumbass and should shut the fuck up. Tell me, would you believe me if I told you that your salvation rested in you chopping off your genetals, and if you didn't, you'd spend all of eternity in hell? I doubt you would. And yet, to this day, people still circumcise babies because of a passage in the bible. Tell me, if having foreskin was a bad thing, then why did God make us with it?

  • @elloloveify that's called a last second word switch or last second syllable switch. Its made excellent use of with the assumption song, if you've never heard of it, look it up unless you're too young in which case you probably shouldnt be listening to these songs anyway

  • @theiaw

Congrats, you've posted the only hateful comment on this video. Hateful -- and inaccurate. Fine, let's play the age game. I looked at your profile, and I'm only 8 years your minor. (Oh yes, I can spell, capitalize, and punctuate.) And yes, I understood that it was funny because of the "syllable switch". In plain English, though, we call it an extra O. Just enjoy it, you actually don't need a Ph.D. to do so. Don't reply; since you're older, you should be more mature than me, right?

  • @elloloveify Wow... hadn't meant for it to be hateful. I'm sorry if I offended you, that was not my intention.

  • @elloloveify How the hell is that hateful?
