@HyperActive7 It had been raining that day. Also there was a litter pick up crew walking around just down the tracks. Don't know if they were affecting it somehow or not..
@biggdaddy2001 Probably. It was wet and there was a nearby trash pickup crew walking on and near the tracks. Not sure if they were somehow accidentally triggering it or not.
@BamaRailfan we have a seldomly used set of tracks by my house and we love when it gets really foggy here in fall late at night trigger the lights at our crossing we don't have crossing sticks just lights, my moms friends brother works for the rail road and told my how to trick the system to turn on lol

Crossing gates tend to go nuts if there is rain nearby. Sometimes the electronics get moist and get a mind of their own,
You should see it when a big thunderstorm is past :o

@BamaRailfan I don't think the crew working had anything to do with the malfunction unless they know how to slam on the activation wire for the gate.
I think it was rain which is a very common occurrence. Moisture from rain has been known to foul crossing gates especially in extreme humidity.

just take a 6 foot bar about 200 feet from the crossing and it will trigger it it probably had a grounding issue
