Hey I just want to say Call of Duty 4 is way better for the PC just because it has dedicated servers and 64 player matches. It is so much better than the console verson when you can not just run around in circles following people on the UAV.

i remember when i 1st got cod4. i did the missions 1st. i didnt know if cod4 online costed money. so i just started playing, i was a big clueless noob. just playing with a noob toob m16, i unlocked all the attachments and 2 cammos and i didnt even know it. then i started to relize that spawn camping can get u kicked from a server. i started geting the hang of it. using diff guns other than the m16.

Some good beginner tips:

dont change your weapon always stick to a weapon so that you can add attachments onto it like acog,red dot,nade launcher and etc.

The best gun out of all the starter weapons it mp5 beca\use its light,strong and easy to use.

(If you want lots of kills dont camp just run round lying down and then camping for 20-30 seconds and then get up and run again to another spot and then camp there 20-30 seconds) (repeat)

even i knew that the recoil is really bad wit the mp-5 when is started and i didn spray at all, and u shud use it more often, its one of the better guns in the games
