nice u say the bow is made of bamboo were you buy? well nice bow i hade 3 home made crossbows gave 1 away my best crossbow the bow is made of pvc pipe try it (works better than yours)

what is the bow string?

the string is actually a length of kite string. I chose it becasue its the closest thing to a nylon rope I have (or a wire one)

haha looks like you took an indian junior bow and arrow set and taped it to a two by four hahaha

hahaha? the tape is leftover from when i used it as a bow. and the entire bow is held together by nails and woodglue.

I like it. I would like to know how you secure the bowstring to the end of the bamboo.

i cut notches into the end opposite the draw direction (so that it will hold the bowstring) with a bandsaw.

hhmm r u using ur finger or a close pin to hold the string as a trigger?

the bow has a draw strength of 25 pounds. a mere clothspin wouldent work. visit the link posted at the end of the vid to see what i used and how to build it!

you need to craft some beter bolts.. perhaps juat put a nail on the other end and tape atoung it with realy strong duck tape or electrical tape?

actually my other bolts (version 1) where made with a nail but the result was a spinning bolt. with fletchings i suppose it would stailize and work. i made two more bolts and whittled them to a sharp point. im actually going to build myself a PVC cannon this summer. if your interested in building this crossbow, check out my detailed instructions on instructibles (website) or google "scale Crossbow" and its the first link.
