In North America people are opening up and sharing of abuse by priests. But how come we don't hear of any such things in third world countries? Is it that this does not happen there.....or is it that people are frightened to share? What about buddhist and hindu priests abusing? Is that acceptable? (it is not acceptable to me or to any reasonable person). Need people to come out and break open the door in other countries. Need someone with guts to start the process.

In my Church, all candidates for ordination to the priesthood are checked for criminal records and offenses related to sexual abuse of any kind. If any charges exist, the application is denied. If any of our priests are found to have committed any such acts while ordained, they are removed of office as soon as possible, charges are pressed, and the family is compensated for all psychological and medical treatment that is required.

Not ALL priests are pedophiles. To be honest, most priests are not. Most priests also do not condone pedophilia. The Roman Catholic Church covers up events within its dioceses so as to avoid embarrassment. I do not condone this.
Define Catholic. If you define the level of one's Catholicity by their level of adherence to the Pope rather than their allegiance to God, you fail to understand the meaning behind the Catholic faith.
The Pope is not the Supreme Pontiff of the Church. That is Jesus Christ. My sole allegiance is to Him, not a man claiming to be the "Holy Father."
I profess the same faith as any Roman Catholic. I believe in the same God. I pray to the same Saints.
