  • With 7 billion people on the planet, veganism is the ONLY truly sustainable diet we can eat.

  • I really do not care what the "Webster's' definition of murder is. Unjust killing by any other name is still just as abhorrent. There is NO compelling reason whatsoever to eat meat. It is not healthy for humans; it is clearly bad for the animals; and it devastates the environment. You may not cal it murder by the stingy definition that leaves animals out of our human state of "grace" - but it is the same thing. As such, I see no need to mince words or parse meanings. It's murder.

  • Those 4 calves now have a life thanks to gentle barn :)

  • To these calves, Gentle Barn means "resurrection." They were innocents in the Garden of Gethsemane, and they were facing death. Torture. But Gentle Barn resurrected them. They were given another chance. God in heaven bless Gentle Barn. They are serving life, every day. I just wish I had some money to donate to help them out, but I'm the only one working in my household right now.

  • I'm backing off of meat a lot thanks to Gentle Barn. Eventually I'll likely just go veg. But it's so hard to just go cold turkey - I don't know enough about how to eat properly as a vegetarian so as to get all the nutrients I need. So I have to learn as I go.

  • Bless you Gentle Barn Folks. I wish I could join you and have a farm animal sanctuary myself, but will continue to help educate people on the horrors of factory farms.

  • if you're not disturbed by the undercover footage shown in this video, there's something wrong with you. Thank God for the Gentle Barn.

  • animal eat other animals. is that wrong? If it is, stop animals trying eating each others. if you successfully make it, they will be dead.

    btw, we're animals too.

  • @flaviodanielgs What kind of retard logic is that, no animal on earth systematically opresses other animals for the sake of profit and cancer. The "need" humans have for meat and dairy has NOTHING to do with survival.

  • @0LASE I'm talking for the people who says "Oh, that's why I never eat meet!". I'm not talking about consumisme, i'm talking about the simple fact of eating or not meet.

  • @flaviodanielgs consumerism*

  • umm.. i like veal!!

  • I would love to do something like this..I cry everytime I see videos of this content. I would do anything if I could get into the animal industry but don't know how.

  • "Don't just believe what we are told" Probably the most single important thing you could hear in your entire life. I wish people would wake up...

  • I wish I could work for you, this is my dream job.

  • I hate to break it to you but being a vegetarian or vegan isn't the answer to "save" these animals. (BTW, I have nothing against your dietary choices) People speaking up and fighting for humane treatment of farmed, domestic, and wild animals is the only way to stop the mistreatment. If you choose to cut meat from your diet to make yourself feel like you're doing your part to help then good for you but that won't change anything.

  • Thanks Gentle Barn for all that you do. I could not watch this video without tearing up. How could people be so cruel to such beautiful creatures. Especially the babies. Thanks again for all you do.

  • WHY DOES THIS HAVE SO LITTLE VIEWS?!

  • Thats why I am vegan!!!!! I cannot believe people do this to animals, I just, can't.

  • I grew up on a cattle and grain farm in the midwest and I've been a vegetarian since 1976 when I was seven years old on Thanksgiving when I was asked by my Great Grandma if I wanted for her to cut some turkey for me and I shook my head no knowing that the animal was dead. Before that--I ate meat with almost every meal. I didn't know anyone like me and I was chided a lot by some people. I kept it undercover for the most part. My blood is A+--I don't know if there is something to blood type.

  • Been a vegetarian since 1992. It's not just about caring about dogs and cats. ALL animals need protection and care/

  • Thank God for you all! What you do is so important and so good. Light and Love

  • hOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THESE PEOPLE..i WISH THERE WAS A gENTLE bARN NEAR ME.. X

  • I would never be able to do what the undercover investigator did. If I saw them do that to one of those poor babies, I'd end up taking the hammer from them and doing it to them. I just want to take all those babies and give them a chance at life and save them from that place. Great job you guys.

  • I and going vegan now :)

  • Something very profound happens when you become vegan. It's hard to describe, it's not arrogance or whatever, it's more like peace. Going vegan was the best decision I ever made with my life--not that I didnt have a slow transition off cheese like more vegans lol Daiya ftw! <3

  • this is so beautiful ~ one of the many reasons why i dont consume animal products. Im 18 and just reascued 2 beautiful dairy calfs from the same fate as yours in the video. thank you for sharing this.

  • @PaperColumns I also decided to finally go Vegetarian around the same time. I wanted to stay vegetarian because I up until then loved milk and cheese. Well I started drinking soy milk. I like it way better than milk. I started drinking that instead just out of preference. Drank so much milk as kid I got kidney stones @ age14. So after these variables Turns out that I unintentionally started eating vegan. It is surprisingly easy to do and so much cheaper on my grocery budget.

    ~Cheers!

  • @thewhyteman Yes, another person goes vegan! I've been one for almost 20yrs now and (except for getting to buy decent shoes) it was surprising easy. People don't realize that there is so much more to eat than animal flesh and potatos.

UGM (ungeneticially modified) soy milk and other soy products taste great and are good for u also.

    Congratations for going VEGAN!

  • OMG..... how hard it must be to "chose" who is being rescued and who is left behind... The Gentle Barn is doing AMAZING work... Bless all of you .... We need more Gentle Barns and people like you- who make a difference...

  • my fav part of the vid was 10:40 and on. and one more thing these calfs were treated really badly and they still trust the humans that brought them to the new farm what does that say about animals and humans think about that

  • I am honored to have watched it (while crying) and posted to my FB....THANK YOU for bringing these horrible inexcusable things to light. WE OWE YOU and I know this is so incredibly painful for you as well - I don't know how you do it, but thank you - you are my heroes.

  • The descriptions and footage of animal cruelty shown around minute 7 of this video are so disturbing. Like crying and covering the screen kind of disturbing. And it's not like it's the first time I have seen this kind of video. But every time is like the first, that's how shocking and shameful the practice of industrial "farming" are. Hats off to you all for being part of the solution.

  • your all beautiful...BIG , BIG HUGS TO YOU ALL.

  • Bravo! Great video. Shocking for those who do not know about what factory farming is really about . Those who have been active in the movement or are vegetarian or vegan, show this to just one other person. Start the change. Another video, VERY graphic, but one that was life-altering for me is The Witness. It's real, "soul shredding" but will absolutely change you heart and soul. You can never go back after watching it.

  • BRAVO.This is a great "starter" video for those who are just beginning to learn about the horrors of factory farming. If every person who watches this can get just one other person to watch who has no awareness of factory farming perhaps we can see change happening at a faster rate. One comment made in the video is so true...people just don't want to know, don't want to hear about the atrocities because "once you know what is going on there is now an obligation to become part of the solution."

  • Poor babies:'(

  • Thank you Gentle Barn for saving these babies! Y'all should go to their FAcebook page and see what they've done for the 3 goats they rescued!

  • This video made me cry... I'm so glad there are still people like you.... Kudos to Mercy for Animals and Gentle Barn :)

  • Can't watch all this video. It will haunt me for months while the images replay in my mind. I'm vegan so don't need any convincing. I'm so glad I finally woke up to the appalling abuses taking place in our name on a routine daily basis. It's taken me half a century but better late than never

  • It's not the fault of the workers, which is what most dont get. Yes, they should be ashamed of themselves for abuse, but it;s really the industry for moves in and hires the most desperate people; illegal immigrants, the extremely poor, etc; for such jobs, and forces them to do horribly brutal acts to a newborn baby calf. Yet, as terrible as it sounds, being killed with a hammer is better than being sold to the veal industry. When will we just let them live, be with their mothers, and be happy?

  • Wow!! Please. This whole world system is skewed.

You guys are HEROES in a world of violence. You deserve the Presidential Medal of Freedom--the highest award that can be given to a civilian.

It HURTS so much to learn about this. My heart aches for a gentler world.

    Wish everyone knew about this.

Wonder how they could find out??

    Thank you.

  • farms...it's all about farms for me. I'll still eat wild hunted deer and fish until I don't want to do that anymore but all "farmed" animals and their products? No. I believe that all life feeds upon life. I don't moralize upon a cougar eating a chicken..nor do I am human but there is an insane amount of disconnect between the heart and stomachs of all people. Torture is not the way. Torture is never the way. My boyfriend is vegan. I'm not totally there yet..but it's happenning.

  • I am so glad I stopped drinking milk and I no longer consume dairy. i also no longer eat beef or pork at all. Kudos to Mercy For Animals and The Gentle Barn.

  • I am so glad I stopped drinking milk.

  • Ellies tears merged with mine :-(

  • @PaperColumns Well done in your commitment to going vegan! My husband and I went vegan two months ago and we feel fantastic for it. Never have I felt happier, healthier, and like I am actually DOING something to make a difference, than by being vegan. Hope it's going well for you, it truly is SO easy to be vegan, especially in this day and age, and there is not a single thing I have not found/created a vegan alternative for. Applauding you!!! :)

  • Man the last minute really got me! Poor baby cows!!! :*(

  • @Nikcholey lol me too, I like when Ellie wipes the calfs face, and the other is jumping around all happy. So QQ inspiring.......:)

  • did this company get busted out? if not why not? what they are doing is absolutely HORRID!

  • I am already vegan (not for too long) and this confirms that I am doing the right thing!

  • THIS WAS AMAZING <3

I AM A 14 YEAR OLD, AND HAVE BEEN A VEGETARIAN FOR 1 YEAR NOW.IT WASNT EASY BECOMING A VEGETARIAN WITH MY PARENTS NOT SUPPORTING IT BUT I FOUGHT AS HARD AS I COULD AND THEY NOW SUPPORT ME BEING ONE, SINCE THEN I HAVE WANTED TO BECOME A VEGAN, THEY WONT ALLOW ME TO BECAUSE THEY DONT SUPPORT IT AT THE AGE I AM THEY THINK ITS NOT HEALTHY AND SUCH. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND YOU CAN DO IT AT MY AGE. I AM FIGHTING TO BECOME VEGAN, SO THAT I KNOW I AM SAVING ALL THE ANIMALS I CAN<3

  • @JxWxproductions Good luck, young warrior lol there are many resources online, peta's goveg . org website, vegan health, lots of books, it's really easy. Just remember we dont need milk, we need calcium, when we can get that from green leafy vegetables, as well as folate and fiber and iron, with no saturated fats and cholesterol. We don't need eggs either, as they too have loads of cholesterol. Any step you make, every day, counts :)

  • @JxWxproductions all i eat is beef bacon turkey which we have millions of these animals on earth and never will be extinct as long as we eat them.

  • @gotcod7 Maybe you should get a colonic soon, cause all that shit has clogged up your brain.

  • @0LASE Meat doesn't clog up your brain. Everyone on both sides of this argument need to do some research. We don't need to stop eating meat, we need to stop the inhumane living conditions and methods of slaughter animals are tortured with today. Veganism is NOT the answer.

  • Comment removed

  • @CoruscantSunset Veganism is a perfectly good answer for some of us. There is no kind, humane way to murder an animal...and murder is what it is. We don't need meat to live a long healthy life - and if we don't need to kill an animal to live that long, healthy life, then the killing is unjustified - the definition of murder.

  • @geysernut Veganism is a great answer for people who are uncomfortable with slaughter, but slaughter is not murder. Murder is defined as the killing of one human being by another human being. The definition is very rigid and cannot include animals. Cruelty exists, yes, and I am deadset against abuse. PETA euths 100s of cats and dogs a year because of their hateful anti-pet position. Do you think that is murder?

  • @JxWxproductions Fight the good fight! I grew up the same way. :) It's so easy and it feels so nice to eliminate milk and etc.

  • @JxWxproductions well you are 1 smart girl or boy. much smarter than i was in your age, and i think for me that i am soooo smart. :))

  • Watched this yesterday and it was the push I needed to make the commitment to go Vegan. Just as I didn't see the cruelty behind the meat industry (although it is a little obvious) before I researched and had my eyes opened, resulting in becoming a vegetarian, I figured eating dairy and 'free range' eggs wasn't so bad. I really didn't realise that kind of treatment was going on in the dairy industry. So sad. Thank you for saving those calves, they're cuties! They're all healthy and happy now?

  • that was my new iphone! I don't need anything, I can view many movies, but some are too high bandwidth to view! I need you to post at a lower bandwidth so I can view it!

how difficult is that to understand?

  • @LittleMonsterGirlie good luck! if you ever need help or advice, I recommend an amazing podcast called vegetarian food for thought. Colleen is incredible.

  • People think it's biased to be vegan and be a part of a rescue. I think it would be hypocritical not to be.

  • Thanks for saving the 4 babies ! And for all you stand for ! Still crying. How are they doing?

  • Thanks for saving the 4 babies ! And for all you stand for ! Still crying.

  • This makes me so depressed! How can anyone hurt animals?! all they want is to be loved!

  • Bless you for your kindness to these helpless creatures.

  • Thank you! Just...thank you for doing what is important.

  • Unfortunately this video shows a very narrow margin of all the farmers. I've been living around farming and cattle all of my life and i can tell you i have not met a single farmer who does this. Its people like that one in the video that give everybody else a bad rep. I believe its horrible that some farmers treat their animals like that. As for your question, yes i will continue buying products. I love meat products. I've killed my own food before too. I always thank God for giving me food.

  • @angelhorse45 Dream on

  • THANK YOU !!!! you are beautiful souls .. If people had to kill the animals themselves many would get off meat and milk.. Blessings from France .. a vegan

  • History, statistics, and common sense show that people who hurts, mistreat or otherwise purposely harm animals turn into just plain BAD people.

How has the vast majority of the human population not made this correlation yet?

  • @sweetheartjess Because the majority of people are just plain greedy and selfish and won't give an inch!

  • Your work is soo full of Grace and Love and Wisdom. Thank you sooooo much! I feel deep gratitide. People like you give me hope. For Humanity. And for all the animals suffering worldwide. Your model is an amazing example.... A Lighthouse . I follow you. Namasté from Munich, Germany.

  • When I was a child, I spent all my summer holidays on a small family-owned dairy farm. The owners were one of the nicest couples I've ever known and treated all of their animals well. They did sell most of the male calves to the butcher, but they got to stay with their mothers for a while and were never mistreated at the farm. Also, I'm sure that butchers use more efficient and hopefully less painful methods of killing cattle than the ones shown in this video. That's just unnecessarily cruel.

  • @Kathilisi Being killed is always going to be sore and terrifying. They do know, y'know, that they are about to be killed.

  • @Kathilisi There is no such thing as humane slaughter. It is a myth used to justify human selfishness. Physical pain may be lessened to a degree but abject terror cannot. Every human should reflect on the time in their own life when they felt their most scared, vulnerable & helpless. Multiply that a millionfold & still it doesn't compare to what these animals suffer. Avoiding 'unnecessary' cruelty accepts some cruelty IS necessary! It is not. We don't need to eat dead bodies or drink cow snot.

  • please watch EARTHLINGS if you want more info.

  • there are threats of physical violence on staff? I guess no matter how mad i am while im sitting here does no good. It just makes me so upset.

  • Ellen sent me here

  • THOSE BRUTAL RANCH OWNERS SHOULD NOT RAISE ANY ANIMALS...RAISING ANIMALS REQUIRES LOVE..AND I DON'T KNOW IF THEY HAVE ANY..

  • It is SO ridiculously easy to go vegan. I did it in a month. You look better, you loose weight, you feel amazing, and you reduce your risk of coronary heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, not to mention how inexpensive it is. Do some research! I recommend the podcast "Vegetarian Food For Thought" by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, or read Food Revolution by John Robbins (of Baskin Robbins). It's easy, it's cheap, it's safe. Don't be afraid :P

  • According to Gentle Barn they help abused animals and children. So why is every video about the animals? Since when did animals become more important than humans?

  • @wickedgirl23 um, the Gentle Barn is first and foremost an animal sanctuary for abused animals. It's a rescue group. They socialize them with at risk and special needs children and adults. The videos are about educating people about the animals they are rescuing. The people they work with, like the children and adults, are on their website and facebook page.

  • @wickedgirl23 - Obviously the primary goal of the Gentle Barn is to provide a haven of safety for abused and neglected animals. The secondary goal is to help troubled children by getting them involved in tending to the animals. So, of course, most of the videos would be about animals as opposed to children. Not to mention the fact that animals don't need to get parental approval to have their faces photographed and put up on an internationally viewed website.

  • @wickedgirl23 in my book, one is not more important than the other. animals are innocent, feeling, sentient beings. some far more intelligent than a lot of the "humans" in this world. what makes them less deserving of respect, care and life? nothing. purely innocent in every aspect and often, completely reliant on us. yet we abuse our self-imposed rule over them as if we were inhuman monsters. if anything, this only makes us less deserving of the life we take away from them every single day.

  • Please upload smaller filesize versions! It takes an hour to queue, and I want to see it this month!

    Thanks,

    Adoptakid

  • @adoptakid you need a better internet connection or graphics card :P

  • If I had a gun I would have shot those people who harm animals.....

  • thumbs up if ellen brought u here!

  • @nsocarras i liked the gentle barn before ellen......:-/

  • we are a messed up group of people if we are abusing animals

  • i almost started crying :'(

  • ok this is the first time EVER when i see 224 likes and 0 dislikes :DDDDD thiss is AWESOMEWOO HOO :p :p :p :p

  • thats so sad. people are messed up.

  • i stopped the video when he brought out the hamer, i couldnt take it anymore.

  • I'm so glad I don't drink milk. I don't want to consume too much of meat anyways. Since animals are mistreated whilst growing up. If only - buy bio foods. Where animals get to see grass and sunshine and rain OUTSIDE and NOT CAGED UP. How can people be so cruel, I just don't understand. It angers me. Alot. Really. How can you do such things?

If they would feel the pain, if they could just feel it. They wouldn't. God how I do hate humans and their "methods". It makes me sick to my stomach.

  • Thank you so much for this video, and thank you ellen for sending me here. I never really understood the veal trade but am so shocked. I have been vegetarian for quite a few years now but am now starting to cut out dairy. I hope things can change...this is so horrible.

  • You don't have to go vegan to see that this is cruelty. You don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to be a human being. There are valid opinions for all sides, but the bottom line is this is cruelty and wrong. Period. Will I go vegan? No. Vegetarian? Not because I plan to, though I don't eat much meat anyway. I just don't like the taste that much. But regardless: this is wrong. So very very wrong.

  • It seems that most of the comments go back to veganism, which is an important issue. However, to me, this video first needs to address the inhumane and violent ways of the industry. Why are they allowed to regulate what is "normal" within the industry? Shouldn't an "unbiased" person help make those regulations?

  • @bsouthall71 good point, but we are not biased, at least, we aren't closed. The reason most of us become vegan is because of the overwhelming nature of animal cruelty in factory farms and agriculture. We aren't blind to suffering, and we choose not to partake of animals and their biproducts. I guess the more appropriate way is to ask if there are LESS emotional people, or more grounded individuals who can discuss normal regulations. Being vegan is only one part of me, but a strong part :)

  • Thank you for doing this ... from me, as a person, and from everyone on behalf of these animals that you are saving. Keep up your great work!!!!

  • Thank you so much for this heartwrenching video. Yes, you are right. People have no idea what they are doing by consuming dairy! It is shocking what our society condones

  • PLEASE THINK LONG & HARD ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE CONSUMING & FIND OUT WHERE IT IS COMING FROM & HOW IT IS PRODUCED...YOU CAN BE THE FORCE FOR CHANGE...AND YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU ARE DOING ON BEHALF OF THE ANIMALS...~Mikki

  • Comment removed

  • Thankyou, at least some people are trying to help...This dairy in Texas has been keeping me awake at nights, knowing that it goes on everywhere...Thankyou again and bless the calves

  • @batcountryrabid. You are absolutely right about that. A side-to-side comparison between milk and soy is a no brainer. I have made the best decision for my family's health AND the most ethical decision as well. But I am not a vegan or vegetarian.

  • I for one, would like to hear from the farmers who do care and their ideas on creating a movement for ethical coalition. We've all seen the dairy farmer pledge on gallons of milk against hormones, why can't we see a sticker on all animal based products with an ethical standard seal of some sort? Not everyone wants to be a vegetarian, but I do believe most people want to follow their hearts.

  • @helloandco 7 billion people inhabit the planet. Animal farmers are in it for the profits, and the animals are produce to them. Humane farming & slaughter do not exist, there is only less barbaric & sadistic, all depending on the latest guy they hired to do the dirty work. Any info you get from the industry is carefully prepared to keep you programed.

    youtube videos:

    watch?v=jMF5ZW2QvYg

("humane" slaughter on a family farm?)

  • @PaperColumns Good luck on your path! :D

  • I don't think this video is trying to push anything but the fact that we should respect and have compassion for what we eat.

Domesticated animals intended for consumption deserve a good life and a swift humane death. If I have to pay .25¢ or more per gallon for humane euthanasia (as insensitive as it sounds), I'm willing. It is better than the country turning a blind eye.

How can I feel like a good mother providing milk for my own child, when it is stolen from a calf left to die a slow death

  • @helloandco you raise a good point. The truth is, mammal milk is not necessary for humans to consume. Lactose is not easily absorbed in our bodies, as we lack the lactase enzyme, and too much causes lactose intolerance. Green leafy vegetables are a pure source of calcium and iron, higher than in milk, but if you want milk go for almond or soy milk in cereals and in baking.

I'm not trying to force veganism on you :P just letting you know there are cruelty free alternatives, that are natural :)

  • A beautifully created, smartly edited video for the masses. This is what people are ready to see in order to educate their children and follow their hearts.

  • Awesome, go get em Nathan, I'm with you.

  • "Those noble souls who practise meditation and other yogic ways, who are EVER CAREFUL about all beings, who protect animals, are the ones who are actually serious about spiritual practices." Atharva Veda 17.1.4

  • I learned alot about the dairy industry by watching this.... I had been leaning towards not purchasing milk for other reasons... This clinched it. I had no idea about the calving being done for the dairy cows to produce milk. When is this Country going to wake up and stand up for ALL animals being used and abused for peoples ridiculous reasons.

  • as the Torah says: don't cook a veal in it's mother's milk.....cruelty shouldn't be part of our society!

  • im ashamed to say, i love meat, i eat as little as possable and always look into the brands that i buy. no animal ever deserves to be treated like this, they all deserve a good happy life, no matter the out-come. thank you guys, and God bless

  • This has really hit me hard. I'm a vegetarian and I am guilty for still consuming dairy products. I will promise myself to go Vegan because I believe we can make a better world.

  • lol stupid cows

  • @Lolzomolo Trolololololololol! :D

  • Unfortunately this is our world today!

    God bless you guys!

    Cheers from Portugal.

  • I'm a vegan and I have talked to so many people who really had no idea that this kind of cruelty was going on. I've found that most people, once they wake up to the truth and break out of their denial, don't want to participate in it anymore. I admire you guys and all animal rights activists a lot for doing things like this.

  • you guys are so awesome saving all them animals from stupid people.i cant believe they would do that to them babys thats so heartbreaking ..thank god for people like you

  • @youshouldntjudgeme, um, what does a person's sexual orientation have to do with anything? Are you calling gays "weirdos"?

    Just asking.

  • @weathergirlification idiots always go to the gay thing because they have nothing else. Anyone not abusing calves, growingf a neckbeard and being 300 pounds overweight is gay, hippie, or a tree hugger. Bottom line, it's machoism and laziness that keeps these people grasping at their barbaric ways and lashing out at the vegan activists for telling the truth.

  • @batcountryrabid "growing a neckbeard"...LOL!

  • Tears in my eyes dear friend :) God bless you all.

  • Thank you Gentle Barn!! I have recently switched to vegetarian, because I had learned about how the animals were inhumanely killed, but I didn't realize that the same thing happened on dairy farms. I think soon I'll be going vegan. :)

  • @SpyHorse5110 good luck on your journey :)

  • @batcountryrabid Thanks. But honestly, after you've seen some of these videos, it makes dairy and meat products just seem repulsive.

  • I LOVE YOU GUYS

  • mmmm..... The cow i raised from birth grew up to be a great looking animal, and i must say it tasted REALLY good too. Had steaks for days! the hamburgers that we had at the family BBQ was the best. Oh how i miss raising cow, I wish I had some ice cream in the freezer right now cuz i know i'm in the mood. Oh and veal, thats the best. I think i might have that for dinner tonight! Thanks for the Idea's ALL! Cheers!

  • gentle barn, thank you for your tireless work in saving the world, loving all life, humans and non-humans. i wish all people who are not vegan who view this video will get out of their status quo mindset and see beyond this video to adopt a compassionate and healthy lifestyle.

  • Thank you MFA and Gentle Barn for everything you do.

  • Because you guys did this for all of animals, I wish I was a lot closer to you guys to be able to come by few times a week to take care of those animals with you guys. Thank you for rescues all of animals who needed a chance at living a happy life. I don't understand why people are so cruel and thinks it's okay to hurt animals for their own anger, and thinks they deserves it, what do those animal thinks while you hurt them? What have them done to you? That's what bothers me.. Thank you...

  • Thank you Gentle Barn for your tireless compassion and all that you do!

  • Thank you all for your thoughts! We are so grateful to all of you who have shared the video and sent rave reviews. We also welcome the thoughts of those of you who disagree with our views.

The questions are: SHOULD ANIMALS BE TREATED THAT WAY? WILL YOU STILL BUY THE PRODUCTS NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHAT IS DONE TO THE ANIMALS?

Vegan or not is irrelevant in that respect. It's about Supply and Demand people! Although we do suggest a plant based diet.

  • @gentlebarn I don't know if this will be answered or not lol but of course, NO, and now I am vegan because of all of you, Farm Sanctuary, and PETA, you all bring miracles to this world. But also, will we ever be able to visit the calves? Will they be at the Gentle Village or the Barn? I'm planning a trip up there in the summer and I hope to see the little guys--not pet or anything, just see them :)

  • @Keldon90210 oh just for funzies, I'll clue you in. 1. small animals killed in agriculture farming are minimal, and unintentional, like walking on bugs on the street. Besides, there is more plow fields made to grow the crops that feed cattle than humans. 2. People will loose their jobs? They can't get jobs harvesting plants or working in farming factories? and 3. If we didn't breed the animals, there wouldn't be as many at all, so there would be no over population.

    Hope that clarifies things.

  • @Keldon90210 they bought the calves. Or the calves were rejected from the sale. You can't steal them.

  • THE GENTLE BARN RULES!!!!!!! Finally, some GOOD News for innocent Animals...

  • Gods work.

    Godspeed.

    Thank you.

  • one would think this knowledge would make people go vegan but it doesn't always.

  • Maybe they can help humans if this operation is successful. Humans suffer abuse too.

  • @ushouldntjudgeme We are all aware that humans suffer abuse as well. Did you not see that the gentle barn uses these abused animals to help abused children? Just because someone is helping animals does not mean that they are not also compassionate toward humans...Animals deserve help too. Especially since their abusers are HUMAN.

  • @Traceeztube Yes, yes, I am a former dairy farmer myself. We always raised the heifers for adding to the herd, and the bull calves were sold to be raised for beef production. I was NOT aware of this practice that you have demonstrated here. There was a veal farm near here, no out of business due to very stinky manure issues. I was not aware of a farmer allowing animals to die because they were worthless....what kind of farmers do that? corporate farms? I hate that kind of thing....

  • @ushouldntjudgeme How could you possibly ask that?...you obviously didn't look at the video, and when was the last time you helped anyone suffering abuse? As a dairy farmer, YOU are one that creates the need for rescuing innocents from abuse. Only "corporate farms" you say? Horrifying, disgusting abuses are committed on family farms as shown by MFA's undercover exposés. Your attitude is what turned me anti-human, but I love good people like these here. Vegan...the only way to be really human(e).

  • @1221solstice2012 Never once did a baby calf die from starvation at our farm, nor did one die with a blow to a hammer ! You are the kind of people that turn me away from the hippy life style. The state I live in is not California. I watched to video several times, I even noticed that the Ford logo on the badge of the pick up truck was blurred out.. This video is trumped up by a bunch of weirdos, one is obviously gay, I observed that, did you?

  • @ushouldntjudgeme So, the answer to my question about your ever helping anyone abused is now obvious. No starvation or hammers used on your farm, you say. Then maybe it was a pickaxe or they were still breathing when you shipped them off to slaughter. Such use of semantics says it all.

"Hippy lifestyle"...lol! Aha, you've discovered a possible California...and gay...connection...our cover is blown, darn it!

Nah, I'm not responding further to this lunacy, except to say: Reap What You Sow.

  • @batcountryrabid said @ushouldntjudgeme "obviously gay" oh hurrrr durr that means WHAT?? Um, nothing. Nathan has done more in his life time than you ever will amount to. His personal sexual orientation has nothing to do with who he is or what he does. He is a hero. You are a loser.

Easy now, please no personal insults! I was merely being observant, while trying to grasp the REASONING behind the real message of what gentle barn is doing. Is the abuse of animals the reason or the vehicle?

  • @ushouldntjudgeme vehicle to what? gentle barn is providing sanctuary to abused animals, farm and pet, and helping kids, teens and adults to reconnect with them while spreading the word of veganism. Seems pretty straight forward. No organization is perfect, but the goods significantly outweigh the bads.

  • @1221solstice2012 No pick axes either. I just don't understand the double edge that gentle barn is using here....are they going after animal abusers or helping humans? Perhaps it appears to be PETA in sheep's' clothing? or are they the shepherds of humans in trouble? Seriously the message is hidden. I cannot figure out the complexity, after all I'm just a non- California, straight farmer. LOL, I till the soil no response needed!

  • @ushouldntjudgeme you don't know anything about PETA. Do you know anything about the Gentle Barn either? They work with children and adults to help better them and their communities. To immediately go to the "helping children" thing is grasping at straws. When was the last time YOU rescued 4 abused children from a cruel family? This is the same thing. It's a rescue and you are butthurt that people wont appreciate your retarded business anymore. Fighting over the internet=REAL mature.

  • Humans DON'T need milk or dairy at all. We're just USED to them. Let's break the habit and be free of cruelty, people! Cow milk is for calves! Let's not steal baby's food and don't contribute to such a cruel and merciless industry... Go vegan!

  • I've been vegetarian for 20 years now, but I drink milk and eat ice cream. I am seriously thinking of eliminating those, as I do not want to contribute to the veal industry. I had no idea that dairy and veal were connected. Thank you for enlightening me.

  • All the brave whistleblowers and investigators are my heroes. they endure both the pain and the risk of exposing the secrets of the animal agriculture industries. It amazes me see how people like PETA and Mercy For Animals can still stay SANE after all of the cruelty witnessed every day, whether it be to farm animals or pets or wild. Bless them all for what they do.

  • Dairy is even more unnatural than eating meat. Drinking breast milk and it's products from another animal? After weaning age? And we call lactose intolerance a disorder, when it's perfectly natural. Now it's been a slow ride for me to give up dairy, I'm only human and it wasnt the same with meat--super easy to be vegetarian, and cheap! It's been a month already, a few slips, but I'm committed. And you can be too :)

  • If you consume any dairy products YOU are responsible for the anguish and terror at facilities like E6. This cruelty is a direct result of consumer demand. When the demand stops, the cruelty stops. Stop participating; stop consuming dairy.
