@yellowdart137 That`s because they are attacking their reflection in the misaprehension that it is another Cardinal. They are solitary birds and see another (male) as an invader of their territory.
I live on a island up north.. very north and we don't have these birds, but yet one day a few summer's ago I went out on my doorstep and on my fence was a female Cardinal. Since then I don't think I've ever seen one but they are very pretty and sure stand out :)
I have sent a response video which is your beautiful video , where i have composed a background music using natural bird sounds of Cardinals.. Please do not get offended.. Please do comment.. Regards
There's another Christian fable that says the cardinal was a red bird made from the blood of Christ as God's way of giving tribute to his son's sacrifice.
I absolutely LOVE cardinals! God created a real masterpiece in these birds! To me they are not only the most beautiful of all birds, they have the sweetest song, too! In fact, I think you should have included some footage of one singing, but you did an excellent job of capturing their colors and form, and I like how you managed to get both a male and a female in one view at 0:30-0:38.
On behalf of cardinal lovers everywhere, I thank you for presenting this film to us!
@iswc27 This was my first nature film. I have been trying to do a better job capturing the songs of the birds on my most recent nature videos. Hope you check them out. My chickadee video is very popular.
nature is one talented artist , I must say , haha, really vibrant shape and colour. The way it dropped down at the end looked quite skilled, is this some special skill for their hunt or something ?
@ClimateSightful They are darn good birds! We moved and although we are only a few miles away our new house doesn't have the right habitat for them, so I haven't seen cardinals in a while.
May I suggest a Downy Woodpecker documentary? Your documentaries are great. I can't drink beer, so I don't watch any of your beer videos, sorry. But your other videos are fantastic, so I assume that the beer reviews are great, too! Thanks.
I happen to be a novice bird-watcher. Out of all the wild birds in the U.S., the cardinal is my favorite. I even have a decorative night-lite of a cardinal on a dogwood tree.
I hear these birds a lot. I love hearing their clear and cute songs and their chips during aggressive encounters. These are one of the four favorite birds I like along with the Black-Capped Chickadee.
@zipflchick I use a little sony HD camera with a hard drive. I like it a lot. It's not the cheapest one out there, but it's very easy to use and good at getting good color.
Hello AgileHProductions, you mention several US states, but it is also iconic in Canada for its beauty and connection to the winter. Like your other videos, this would be great for the Canada’s Got Treasures Collection. Thanks again for creating this great mini-documentary!
I am trying to include characteristics, size, color, beak charactistics, migration or map where found, interesting facts (state bird of 7 states for cardinal) etc. I will also where possible show the parent bird feeding the young to show how the young differ in color from parents. Any other ideas you have, I would be interested. Thanks.
It's funny; of the seven states mentioned of which the cardinal is the state bird, the two states with pro sports teams bearing the name "Cardinals" weren't mentioned. I was sure Missouri would be one of the states, but I guess not.
Awesome thank you...I love these birds I am in Iowa they are all around my yard but not in my yard going to try an attract...with seeds and suet... great job
My first one EVER at my feeder. Ten years and not one! Live in Ottawa. Little dude must be lost! Using new songbird seed. My cats Max and Gus love their window entertainment! (indoor cats)
I just wanna hear the bird, I can look-up the info myself.

Maybe they were not in the mood at that time or could not cut a decent recording deal with their agents.

Any problem with my using similar videos for robins, chickadees, white breasted nuthatches, red bellied woodpeckers, and downy woodpeckers?

No problem, except for the fact that I haven't done videos on all those birds.
