the best way is to apply chain cleaner and leave it for about 5 minutes to do its job and then start cleaning with the brush, and clean the dirty stuff with the rag... after all cleaning you can ride motorcycle a few minutes to heat up the chain a little and let him dry good! after that make sure that chain has silver look, cleaned and dried good... then just apply chain lube and leave it for 15 minutes to catch the chain... so it takes about 20-30 minutes, but its fun...
Great vid, that reminds me i should probably clean and lube my chain sometime soon. And those stands are great. They helped me out big time when i changed the oil in my bike the other weekend.
good tutorial and great assistent ;-) i´m a lazy person and prefer spending time with riding my bike instand of cleaning and lubing my chain - so i use this comfortable tool:
surche for the video here in youtube "Kettenmax CLASSIC Kettenreiniung & Kettenschmierung Motorradketten"
Nice vid man.... chains should be done every 600 miles though. More frequent if you ride in wet/dirty conditions....lol. I'm sure most people never do it that frequently.
Not sure about your product but a lot also require a short ride to heat the chain so the lube penetrates better. Just thought I'd through it out there...
How long did it take you to clean your chain and lube it back up? Took me about 45minutes and a whole spray can of degreaser to do it without the pitstand..
@BlackFlag94 Every time iv cleaned and lubed a chain I made a video so I havent just gone out there, cleaned and lubed it and be done but if I was to guess I would say no longer than 5-10 min whole job.
Deffinately need to get me one of those grunge brushes !!! Will be alot easier with my SV once I get the cotton reel spools so i can use the paddock stand as well. Great vid, best chain cleaning I've seen. Will have to check Darkflight Vlogs to see if he's done one as well :P
Most people say to clean and lube every 600 miles and if ride in wet or rain. Regardless I think a rear stand is on top of my list after I get the bike and that brush seems pretty helpful. Great video.
Many thanks for the video, just got my first bike and followed your guide and my chain is sweet now.

You mate the Pit Bull stand to a couple of pegs on the bike. Do those pegs come with the stand, and then you install them on the bike?

every 2000 miles? I do it every 500. Anybody else follow a different schedule? I ride mine everyday.

@CMBDIA I think he meant to say degrease and clean it every 2000 miles
I Ride mine everyday and lube my chain every 500 miles, and clean it every other time i wash my bike, which is every 3 to 4 weeks
