  • Wonderful, i can almost smell that feeling of street-music-joy through the screen of my computer. And what a nice touch it is to make the film in black and white!

  • This looks suspiciously like NOLA to me. Isn't that where Peyroux is from?

  • Peyroux is from Athens, Georgia, USA.

This was film in Paris by myself.

  • I hear she was 15 at the time.

  • really LOVE this one...

  • she sounds a lot like billie holiday just sort of.

  • 1991? I thought she was a recent Phenom Fatal! Her music gives me joy. JOY!

  • Great cover of Billie's classic

  • this is so beautiful! wish I were there...

  • the gitarist is my father i mean the solo player

  • @julesmonendrumface Cris is your father ; what a musicien !! Used to hang out with him & de Wanderings Eons ago ; Say hello to him from Peadar & Martha in Paris !!

  • Genial

  • This song is amazing. To bad I can't find this song with Madalein as artist at youtube in good quality

  • It's amazing what watching "The Jane Austen Book Club" can do to you. I believe this was the song playing for the end credits. As for the singer, her voice reminds me of Billie Holiday, kind of. Do you think Corin Baely Rae was influenced by her? They seem to have the same style.

  • So, anyone who hears this and doesn't believe they are listening to a unique artist in Madeleine needs to go to a good ear doctor or just listen to digeridoo music. I am enchanted as always by her. Not just a pretty face and a nice voice. God bless her and that all goes well for her in the future.

  • This is great stuff! Thanx

  • Beautiful voice! I love it!

    Meyi

  • Great document. The video was made 17 years ago, when Madeleine was 17 years old. Post more, including her performance with the ukelele (I supose) in the foto of the video.
