  • GO GO GONZO

  • They are so cute as babies!

  • That's right, Gonzo! Defend your hen!

  • Richard Hunt OBVIOUSLY the Snowman! No mistaking that voice!

  • '' Me thinks me hears Carolers ! ''

  • I forgot about the barking dog and now I remember

  • So cute and adorable

  • where was elmo is these old 80s movies?

  • @italiana1776 Elmo is in this movie, but wasn't as beloved as today and didn't had any lines to say, he was in Bert and Ernie's play and you can hear him in the Caroler part..

  • Best. Crossover. EVER!

  • 4:03 makes me laugh into tears!

  • how come jim henson never made skeeter, she was in the muppet babies cartoon, so why didnt he make her also.

  • even weirdos are cute when they're babies!

  • Your Turn Harry Monster!!~Classic!!Love it!!~

  • I got nostalgic when the Sesame Street ganf showed up.

  • It's rowlf

  • Awwww! Back when Sesame Street was awesome. It sucks that they changed it all to try and "compete" with newer cartoon shows. Sesame Street will never be the same. I'm so glad it was captured so perfectly here. <3 :) Old school is the best. :) :) :)

Oscar: "I will NOT sing this song!" Everyone else: "Fa la la la la lalalala!" :D haha.

  • Oh my gosh...baby animal is SO cute! :) I <3 the muppets. :)

  • Woof woof! Yeah! Bark bark! "Don't you just hate it when you can't speak the language?"

  • Keeps sounding as if other muppets call Rolf Ralph...is it just me?

  • The Christmas Turkey has since become the turkey Chef chases with the cleaver, right?

  • Heh, the bear that yells "TIMBERRRR!" at the beginning is like a prototype version of Bobo the Bear from "Muppets Tonight!"

  • This one line from Groucho Marx comes to me when Rowlf and Sprocket start conversing in dog language... "You know it's stimulating when two giant intellects come together." :P

  • Me happy.

  • "Me thinks me hears carolers!"

  • Moral lessons I learned from children's Christmas programming today:

"Even wierdos are cute when they're babies." xD

  • 8:50 Bert and Ernie Trollin' lol

  • "The Dog is not the Turkey! The Turkey's the Turkey, you Turkey!"

    Best Turkey pun usage ever!

  • Note how Frank Oz used the same voice for Fozzie that he used for Bert. Jerry Nelson, too with Robin and Gobo.

  • @SnugglySara ya alot of muppet performers, specifically jim, richard, frank, & jerry reuse a lot of their voices for other characters

  • @SnugglySara I just wish that Yoda was in this too! :)

  • Don't you hate it when you can't speak the language

  • I thought Rowlf was the cutest thing ever... but... ROWLF AS A TODDLER!!? I'll take the whole litter, please.

  • lol at Swedish Chef thinking Sprocket was the Christmas turkey.

  • Punch lines: 4:11 and 4:44 look its ms. hamhocks when she just a little sausage roll lol haha

  • "where we come from, this is small talk."

  • Skeeter was only in Muppet Babies she was in there so piggy wasn't the only female muppet in muppet babies

  • I don't think they put him in this special he could have but he wasn't so could oscar's girlfriend or so i think grungeta but I understand about Snuffy he would have been to big to fit in the house.

  • Ralph and sprocket became quick friends I like what Doc said don't you just hate it when you can't speak there language

  • This is my favorite part of the show. (When they sing 'Sleigh Ride.") After all Fozzie has suffered over the years, it was nice to hear someone laugh at his jokes and tell him he really was funny.

  • i kinda wish they could do this again

  • @polarity345

Yeah. It's a shame there are so many legal hurdles now.

  • the got rid of so many sesame street charectors

  • "Awww.... Even weirdos r cute when their babies"

  • YES!! I haven't seen the full version of this since I was 6 or 7!!

  • "boy is this out of tune! i love out of tune pianos."

  • Ooooh! Green Fuzzy Flipper-Slippers!!!!!

  • Ernie sounds like Kermit and Bert sounds like Fozzie.

  • @sakaleve1 Kermit and Ernie = Jim Henson

Fozzie and Bert = Frank Oz

  • Oh my Sugar!

what is sesame street doing here?

  • 7:40

  • Got to love random vaudeville comedy acts in the middle of a Christmas special...

  • What the Hell ever happened to Harry Monter?

  • Wait ....where the heck was Telly Monster?!

  • What's the name of the song the sesame street cast sing before deck the halls? I think I might have heard it before.

  • @pixargod "Here We Come A-wassailing" :)

  • @VioletCatbird

    Thank You

  • I shit my pants when Sesame Street showed up. Holy shit!

  • SO glad Elmo didn't sing in this! Would have ruined the special!

  • Comment removed

  • the Turkey's the turkey you turkey! lololol :)

  • thats muppet humer for ya

  • whats bad about Elmo is the fact he refers to himself in 3rd person..THAT is horrible for kids to learn...also..he doesnt really enjoy sharing..but thas besides the point (my daughter LOVES him and i let her watch him cause all in all he really is great AND cute)...i was just sayin NOT EVERYTHING with muppets HAS to be starring Elmo..hes a bit of a scene stealer n ham

  • @oxsilentsinxo Elmo is also a kid. I remember on Sesame street that you were supposed to want to be like the grown ups like Kermit. Elmo idealizes childhood instead of inspiring asperations to adulthood.

  • @oxsilentsinxo Elmo gets paid by the Elmo, didn't you see the interview? LoL

  • My daughter kept askin "wheres elmo momma?"...and i was like "See the lil red thing in the back? THATS elmo..and THAT is where he should of remained"...THESE are the REAL muppets to love...

  • @oxsilentsinxo I grew up watching elmo as a kid I don't see whats so bad about him?

  • Rowlf's joke is soooooo funny.

"I've been chasing trucks and boy, am I exhauseted!"

  • @bigpurplemuppet99 Dog humor, you see.

  • Wait, they actually Muppet Baby muppets?! Where was this show!?!

  • In the comments i keep reading about the american version of the dvd having parts edited or completely cut out? the home movies part and fozzie and the snowman wher ethey cut out or just edited? because i have the american version on dvd unedited??

it was still by jim henson productions so maybe i just got lucky and found a goof?? befor disney put it out.

  • @jbennz02 The VHS I boughy had those edits, what a waste of money

  • @rjb1216 well hopefully now that the muppet movie is so wonderful! disney might start to give some actual CARE to the Muppet properties and reissue the dvds right!.

  • Sounds like they keep calling Rowlf Ralph

  • Your Awesome! Thanks For Putting it so i can enjoy muppet movies :]

  • O_O its like a muppet dream!...LOL

  • 5:54-6:30 LOL!! :)

  • You were still in dipaers in those days. :)

    MAAAA!!

    lol XD

  • this is back when gay still ment happy and not the deragotive meaning and when could sing carols and include God or Jesus in songs they our in and air it on tv with out a fuss things arent like that anymore.

  • Doc. Did you know Doc starts with the letter D?

    Yes.

Yes starts wth the letter Y

    What is this?

Where we come from this is small talk... Ah sesemi street...

  • aint he a Grouch? LOL

  • LOL I WILL NOT SING A SONG!!!! LOL i remember that line o Oscer

  • Rolf and I have something in common! We love out-of-tune pianos! LOL! :)

  • I have just realised how far technology has come these days! I was born in 1991, and back then if we wanted to watch movies, we had to rely on VHS tapes, and junk, and DVDs really didn't come into existence until early 2000 I think,

    I feel old now....:)

  • This is so CUTE!

  • awww this is making me wanna watch all the muppet babies episodes. See you in 5 hours.

  • This is great, but that bear in 2:37 is kinda scary, dont u think? MUPPETFANS UNITE!!!

  • Oh Mrs. Bear! I been chasin the truck and buyin WOAH! :D

  • @Penguinnate2 skeeter didn't appear in the live-action dream sequence song

  • where we come from this is small talk

  • I'm 17 and I Still Love Sesame Street! It's not weird at all!

  • @CrazyDuude99 Hey! I'm almost 20 and I still love the muppets and Sesame Street! If you've grown up with 'em, they will always have a special place in your heart because of so many childhood memories!

Am I right or am I right? lol

  • lol Grover said gay.

  • God, back in the day when Elmo was the lowest of the low.

  • Why the heck did I never know of this before!? And the snowman is Scooter. And that's awesome!

  • I love how at the very end Frank does Bert's laugh, but it starts out sounding like Fozzie!

  • baby Gonzo is so CUTE!!!!!

  • where we come from this is small talk lol

  • Ralph the Dog sounds like Seth Rogen

  • @tilz456 Rowlf

  • Should have had a scene between Cookie Monster and Animal.

  • @Xerock: It does. When Cookie eats Janice's cookies, she asks, "Who was that furry blue creature?", to which Animal responds, "That my kind of fella!"

  • @Xerock Animal does say about Cookie Monster, "That my kinda fella!" XD

  • Why doesn't doodah go to the Muppet Theatre if he wants quiet?

  • Who else was suprised that Telly Monster wasn't included in this?

  • I love that they used the muppet baby costumes in the cartoons :D

  • Wow, Cookiemonster before he was in rehab.

  • @cactoosjack

Yes I totally agree, when I was a kid I always got so excited when they appeared and I still find cool.

  • Ooooh Animal!

    AWWWW, Animal!!!

    rofl

  • Wow, I was listening to this while in another window, and you can really hear Jim and Frank as Kermit and Fozzie in Ernie and Bert!

  • this was before elmo was super popular, it's kinda cute to see him quiet in the back.

  • Just think about it - I live in Poland, there's no DVD with this movie available and the last time a tv station run it, was christmas eve 2001 9 AM. Pretty sad, isn't it?

  • 7:41 - "I WILL NOT SING THIS SONG!"

  • @mst3KGf that's oscar for you!!!!

  • Where we come from, this is small talk xD

  • 9:10 b words

  • 0:33 :D

  • "It's Miss Hamhocks, when she was a little sausage roll!"

  • woof woof.. yeah! bark bark.

  • Oscar wrecked the Deck the Hall song!

  • @cbsteffen

lol, i know, right? such a grinch...

  • Ah the good old days when Elmo was nothing more than a random background monster.

  • @spiceinator The best part of this whole special, if you ask me, is that he doesn't get a single line at all.

  • @spiceinator I think the same thing about Elmo being a background character when I see him hanging out of a window in some random building on Sesame Street when I show my daughter Follow That Bird. Love the classics.

  • Thank you SOOOO much for posting this!

  • This movie blew my mind @ 6:39 when I was little- Muppets AND Sesame Street. I didn't know that Jim Henson did both back then.

  • I think three bunnies in the "Sleigh Ride" number came from The Tale of The Bunny Picnic, didn't they?

  • @NaiTaiDai: Yep.

  • The Sesame gang as it should be, sans elmo

  • @ellipw

    Elmo was there

  • Rizzo the Turkey vs. Gonzo!

  • I still have this on my grandma's old VHS tape. I can't have Christmas without watching this. <3

  • I miss the old original muppets from Sesame Street :(

now it's all about stupid Elmo

  • Did Fozzie just call "Rowlf" "Ralph?"

  • Me and my family still say "CAREFUL OF THE ICY PATCH" to this day. I love this special.

  • I love this. Brings back many memories...I always used to think how scared I would be if my snowman just sprang to life right in front of me...

  • Thanks for posting this. This was my favorite Christmas movie as a kid. I literally watched it on a daily basis for a couple years during December. Our VHS copy is dying. I would love to somehow get the uncut version on DVD. *sigh* Maybe someday. Thanks again for sharing. : )

  • @cactoosjack

I've always credited A Muppet Family Christmas for why I love crossovers so much. :D

  • The turkey's the turkey. You Turkey!

    Classic

  • Oscar rocks!

  • the Muppets were never really meant for kids..

  • i absolutely love the muppets and sesame street but don't you just wanna punch big bird in the face? lol

  • @cactoosjack lol i still luv cookie monster <3 hes soo cute

  • On the dvd this is one of the songs they cut out all you see is the movie start then animal popping out. They also cut out Fozzie and the snowman singing.

  • Ugh I miss The Count and the two headed monster, they were my favorites growing up

  • @PrincessBunhead The Count is still around, but the Two Headed Monster doesn't come on much

  • @wileyk209zback Ah, my mistake. I'd rather watch the classics that I grew up on than what is showing now anyway.

  • My favorite part was at the end of the home movie when Animal burst through the screen. Shame it was cut from the original DVD release.

  • I don't understand. This guy used to be on Fraggle Rock? He's seen a piano playing dog, but he's never seen a fraggle? His own dog wasn't even real!

  • 6:40 made the movie even more epic!

  • gonzo should of kicked that turkey's ass, lol lol messing around with his grl

  • @ballerstew The current state of programming for children is way more offensive than anything in this special.

  • @DTVzone true that Jim was a very speical man who was in my opion was the Walt Disney of Family shows like The Muppet Show Fraggle Rock Muppet Baby's Sesame Street Dog City

  • @ballerstew why do u say that?

  • @ballerstew Other than the demon snowman I think this is acceptable for children.

  • to bad we don't get show's like these anymore, grow up on this stuff

  • "Turn off the lights, and roll the film." LMAO. I used to say that all the time, in elementary school, when we'd watch one of those old-skool films on the projector in class. :D

  • Ahhh, nostalgia. The good old days of being a carefree 5 year old, when the only worry I EVER had in life, was making sure my parents knew what toys I wanted for Christmas......lol. Such a joy to look back on this. And I agree with DarthNesher777. The good times, before Elmo took over!! Can't help but wonder, what it would be like, if they'd still had all of these old-skool, classic characters around. AND if Disney hadn't bought out The Jim Henson Company. *sigh*

  • And when I say "old-skool" characters, I'm referring to Guy Smiley, Forgetful Jones, Rowlf the Dog, etc. : )

  • This Is awesome

  • it is sappy, but I still get teary-eyed when Sesame Street guys show up and when Rolf finds the old honkey-tonk piano.

  • "You and what other NERDS?" LMAO

  • The good old days before elmo took over

  • @DarthNesher777 way before elmo too over. It was nice the main characters having some sass and whit.

  • 1:28 He came to life. Good for him!

  • You have just made Christmas 2010 my best ever!!! I haven't seen this since I was a kid and have been making due each year with the edited version. A million thank yous!!!!

  • They sold me when they showed the Muppet Babies in the home movies. And then....... the Sesame Street Muppets show up!!!!! OMG! I died and went to heaven. All the Muppets!

  • Just think if they did this several years later with the Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal/Labyrinth, Bear in the Big Blue House, Muppets Tonight, Earl from Puppetman, Bean Bunny, Little Muppet Monsters, Emmett Otter, and even the Animal Show! How epic would that be! :D Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @NintendoTV64 Jim Henson died only three years after this was made, so I'm very glad it was made when it was. Also, the 80's are awesome.

Also, I honestly can't imagine most of the Henson characters you mention interacting with the Muppets. Can you imagine Skeksis singing Christmas carols in the background? Me either.

    And Bean Bunny sucks.

  • @DTVzone True, true. But, still, it would be epic! :D You are right, however, how Skeksis singing Christmas Carols would be crazy, and the 1980's are awesome, but Bean Bunny is okay, I guess. You do have a bit of a point. :\

  • @DTVzone I would crack up if i saw the Skesis singing Christmas carols ! Can you imagine? Every three syllables? mmmmm......

  • @DTVzone I don't think they would've had the characters from "The Dark Crystal" appearing in a Muppet Family special. Lucky for Jim's children and his fellow Muppeteers, they were able to carry on without him on later Muppet projects to do it for him. On a related note, Richard Hunt had passed away two years after Jim Henson died. While Jim Henson's death was caused by a deadly bacteria that was discovered too late, Richard Hunt died from AIDS-related causes.

  • @NintendoTV64 Bear in the Big Blue House was a HENSON production?

  • @ztslovebird You'd better believe it. Sadly, it was made 7 years after Henson's death, but it recycled many puppets from the Animal Show and even several mainstay Muppet performers performed on it (i.e. Dave Goelz)

  • @NintendoTV64 Huh. It was a shock at first, but now it makes a lot more sense. Puppetry has never exactly been a popular media, and there WAS a certain Henson-y look and feel to the characters.

  • @NintendoTV64

Bean Bunny is way awesome <3

  • Muppetized muppet babies! (Except for Skeeter)

  • @therainbowranger84 Skeeter was only a Muppet Babies Muppet; Piggy needed a strong female counterpart
