It really speaks to Shawn's selflessness that he is still really funny when his own life is in danger but he tends to get too serious when the lives of those close to him are in danger.

OMG, when Henry ripped that line out of Shawn's arm, I laughed and cringed at the same time. That was in his vein! *blood spurt* That happened once when a doctor took blood from me: he didn't cover it fast enough after removing the needle and a few drops squirted out of my arm. It was hilarious!

Yeah, honestly, ripping out an IV line like that would be REALLY painful. I've never had one ripped out, but I've had IV lines and they made you not want to move your arm very much, and you really try not to bend your arm or the fluid flow slows and the machine actually beeps (yells) at you. James' acting was phenomenal during that scene, especially at that part.

@riktal78 True. I haven't seen any situation that he was in where his acting wasn't convincing. Though, I've never seen him in a crying scene. I'm not saying he can't do it, but I've never seen it. He doesn't seem like the type of guy who would really enjoy that role, but he'd do it if he had to, lol.

@riktal78 I think the closest was in the season 4 finale, when he made the decision to go after Abigail and sent Gus to get Juliet. He wiped his face with his sleeve and I think sniffled, but there was no crying. Although, the blatantly obvious fake crying in the beginning of the season one bloopers is something I could watch a million times!

@riktal78 Yeah. But, then again, Shawn is emotionally damaged, even if it usually doesn't seem like it. He can be concerned for others, but he seems to have trouble empathizing with them. And never takes things that happen in his own life seriously enough to cry over them.

@MelyssaAKASkittlez I think part of it is everything that happened to him in his childhood. Don't forget that Henry taught him to be tough and a man and all that stuff. Plus - He never lost anyone important enough for him. If he did, I'm sure he would have cried over it :)

Poor Shawn. Barely poisoned, and possible massive vein damage. *shudder*

I donated blood once and the needle moved around a lot, and that was still when the people were being really careful. I got a weird cut in my arm where the needle was. Imagine having a needle yanked out like that..uggh.
