lol its funny because i have a siberian husky(boy) and a akita/husky mix(girl) and the girl hates the husky and always growls everytime he comes around or she will be laying down like this dog but he will constantly pick on her like this dog and she will finally get up and chase him off but he thinks shes playing lol and he's did the paw thing few times to its sooo cute until she gets pissed at him and tried to bite him :(

@pentagon324 i would advice an alaskan malamute if you want to have an active life,a freakin UNTIRABLE DOG, a gentle dog(wich looks more like a friend then the average dog),a strong one(literarely rips of your hand when you go on a walk with him :) ) and a very very very smart one(WARNING dont et this dog close to sheeps...just to say, i lost 8 of my sheeps)

husky are a bit more adapted to a lazy life(just a bit) and they are a bit weaker and a bit less smart but a bit more refined

@reflexassassin Huskies being less smart is a myth. Lots of people assume huskies aren't smart because they are difficult to train. This is because these animals don't live to please their owners like most dogs. You have to show them you're the alpha in the pack or they will walk all over you. I respect huskies because they make their own choices rather than doing everything their master tells them to do. As for sheep, my malamute is supe friendly. He befriends every animal, even my pet rabbit

i personnaly would advice an alaskan,but do not forget to raise him well and really....THEY CANT BE TIRED(just goes against the laws of the universse i guess...)but they are extremely gentle(but dont get any sheep to close,mine killed 8 sheeps -.-)and they are very very very smart,so be sure they can't escape,and god,malamutes are strong when you take them out on a walk :) i would advice the malamute

@pentagon324 husky when you want a calm dog,alaskan when you want trouble....no i would advice a malamute,when you like to play and have a real good friend(alaskan's are very kind,but they litterary can't be tired,and they are extremely gentle dogs)i had 6 dog in my live(porsan jack russel,.. husky and alaskan) and i would advice an alakan if you like to play :P because i'll tell you once more,believe me,ALASKANS CAN'T BE TIRED!!but with a good education he will be a wondeful dog

What an adorable and happy husky, cheers to the owner :) I have a 5-month old wolf-gray coated and half-masked husky. Huskies are the best, naturally pretty and friendly. Is that really the temperament of Malamutes? or he's just not in the mood when you took this video? I was planning on getting a Malamute but if it's too lazy then I think I'd rather go for a Retriever or probably another Husky (possibly breed Huskies someday).

does it howl at night and keep you awake if so can it be stopped

does it get fur all over the place, if so is there anyway of preventing the fur from getting everywhere, such as combing him often

are they affectionate, will he sit on the couch with you and watch tv or even sleep at the foot of your bed

how hard was he to train

will it protect you if attacked

Malamutes do howl, specially if theyre babies, but if you keep it used to being outside, it will get used to it.

They don't shed a lot of hair (compared to the husky) 2 comb sessions a week should do.

Yes they are affectionate but they are also very independent dogs, so don't expect them to follo wyour every command.

It will protect, depending on how you train it, not as good as a germa shepherd thougj.
