  • mad Kermit face 2:37 :)

  • In the beginning of the sketch, is that the chair Alistair Cookie sits on during Monsterpiece Theater?

  • Grover I want ya outta here and stop wrecking ma place! XD Jim's Mississippi came out! Lol!

  • Arent we glaqd he didn't say tornado?

  • this is my favorite grover sketch.

  • Is this the only one of these sketches where Grover didn't physically put anything on Kermit?

  • I wonder if Grover's machine can produce earthquakes? well that's not really weather.

  • Isn't it bad luck to open an umbrella indoors?

  • @NaiTaiDai : I always try to avoid it anyway.. :)

  • @NaiTaiDai

I have heard of that superstition before!

  • Grover's first job.

  • Got to pay the cookie Bill...LOL!!

  • I am quite sure that this is the first Grover the Salesman sketch.

  • This sketch first appeared in episode 848, and in episode 800 there was a sketch of Grover selling earmuffs. But Kermit says at 0:24 he says "I didn't know you were a door to door salesman."

  • What was the one skit where Kermit was home and I believe he got locked outside..and Grover was inside and it was snowing and Kermit was scratching at the window? And he was rocking in the chair? I only remember bits of it..I think Grover was selling something...and I think it was one of the first skits of him at home..and it was night time

  • "I want you outta here and stop-a wreckin' ma place!"

    XDXDXDXD

  • I DONT LIKE SNOW IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!

  • XD i love Grover!!!!!hes awesome!!!!!!!

  • This sketch appears on:

    "Sesame Street" episode 0848 (February 11, 1976)

"The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street" (1998)

"Sesame Street: Old School Volume 2" (2007) (as part of Season 7 Classic Cuts from the 1975-1976 season of "Sesame Street")

  • well you know You got to do something to pay the cookie bill lol love that part

  • Does this mean Grover and Cookie live together? Lol.

  • rain- little bunny rabbits take a bath in it!

  • Grover's fur seems longer than usual. He also seems kind of tired... maybe he's just too worn out to go get a haircut.

  • shut the fuck up Grover is the only cute monster. elmo is fug.

  • *sigh* well you know you've GOT to do something to pay the cookie bill!!

  • Yea ! hahaha!

  • People should say "hark" more often.

  • Did he just say "And stop'a wreckin' ma' place?"

    Too much! LOL!

  • Believe it or not, Jim Henson was from Mississippi, so it probably came out every once in awhile.

  • Holy crap - I haven't seen this in years...I totally forgot about this one!

  • Hi-ho! Kermit the Frog here, for Sesame Street News. And now, here's Grover with the weather.

  • Speaking of which, I hope that someone has the sketch of Simon Soundman doing a report for the weather by using sound effects, leading to being fired by Kermit and getting replaced.

  • Grover is some fair-weather friend.

  • Today I have an umbrella for you for only seven dollars!!!

  • Make it a nickel!

  • "I want you outta here and stop a-wreckin' my place!" is one of my favorite Kermit moments! Thanks!

  • There was a similar weather clip involving Kermit. It's one where he's talking to a weather man and is surprised when everything that he (the weatherman) says will happen does- right there in the room. If anyone can upload that clip, I'd be so grateful.

  • Heh, I'd have told him to turn it off. I think the ridiculous offer clouded Kermit's judgment.

"Mommy, I made a sale!" Lol!

  • The "Kermit at home" sketch I'd love to see again is the one where Grover's outdoors in a snowstorm and Kermit keeps imploring him to come inside...it ends with Grover toasting himself in front of the fire while the frog is on the outside looking in.

  • Kermit's Annoyed Look is Priceless LOL

  • Not as funny as the one where Grover was selling nose warmers, but still good.

  • I've been lookin' for this for a LONG time now. thanx.

  • Was this one of the few appearances of Steve's Kermit on "Sesame Street." I thought I read somewhere that it was. Just wondering.

  • No this is when Jim Henson performed Kermit.

  • come to think of it... I recall Mr Henson did Ernie's voice as well...who do they have doing it now? (I think as far as Kermit is concerned, I hear they "retired" him just after Jim died).

  • No, Jim Henson's son Brian has done Kermit after his death. He did Kermit in "The Muppet;s Wizard of Oz" for instance. I didn't like that one, and you could tell it wasn't Jim, but Brian does sound a lot like his father. But it's not the same.

  • Steve Whitmire did Kermit, and he did Ernie to for that matter as well as Rizzo the Rat, Bean Bunny, Sprocket the Dog, and Wembley Fraggle

  • @srubi74 actually no it's Steve Whitmire. Brian doing Kermit is a common misconception.

  • @wattamack4

are there anymore Kermit and Grover segments including Grover was outside in the cold snow while Kermit is inside the house keeping himself warm near the warm fire and everything?

  • @Daffyfan2006 ,

Kermit was a lead character when Sesame started, the leader of the Muppets. The reason he's not on anymore has something to do with licensing, Sesame's producers would've had to pay for the rights and they chose not to do so.

  • @eatmorenachos

I believe this had something to do with the Muppets having been bought by the Walt Disney Company for the second time. I do not know all of the details, but I know that this facors in somehow.

  • @Daffyfan2006 hell no Jim Henson voiced Kermit until 1990 when he passed and even then he wasnt on sesame street for many years at that point and Steves Kermit was on sesame street 1 time for only 3 seconds on elmos world

  • People complain about the weather. At least Grover does something about it.

  • If that rain doesn't stop, Kermit's house is going to flood.

  • Frogs are amphibious. He'll be okay.

  • Yeah, but his house and furniture won't.

  • Which is more important, his life or his possessions?

  • Well, obviously, but that doesn't mean screw everything else. He even said he wants Grover to stop wrecking his place.

Besides a salesman, Grover has also visited Kermit as a plumber- twice. I'd like to see them both if possible.

  • Both of them are- never mind, you wish that they were on this website and think that it would be nice to be able to comment on them.

  • Yes I've watched them both on the web video player.

  • Why is Grover all tied up after this skit?

  • Get "The Best Of Kermit On Sesame Street" video and you're question will be answered.

  • What if we don't want to spend that much money? Lol. Could you at least give us a hint. Like maybe that Kermit did it for some reason or other. BTW, you can disregard my last post. It did sound like Henson's Kermit and that did look like an earlier Grover. Plus since Kermit said to Grover he didn't know he was a salesman, I'm guessing it was probably the first Grover salesman sketch. I guess I'm thinking of something else where Steve's Kermit is concerned I'll have to look that up.

  • I kinda want to know that too!

  • Here's something I don't get. If the machine can make it rain, why can't it make it stop raining? And doesn't Kermit know it's bad luck to open an umbrella indoors?

  • It's even worse luck to open your door to Grover.

  • Yeah, it is! It's even worse luck for Mr. Johnson, the fat blue guy.

  • Well, his luck doesn't seem to be very good anyway. What's the difference? :)

  • I knew I remembered something like this from my childhood!

  • I don't like snow in the living room! LOL

  • Who does?

  • An umbrella for a nickel? LOL! At least he didn't charge Kermit for the rain!

  • Yeah, but I'm sure Kermit will go after him for the homeowners premiums now.

  • lol "Stop wreckin' mah place!" Sounds like Kermit went southern for a brief moment!

  • @MrFlix1983 Jim Henson was born in Greenville, Mississippi.

  • Grover you idiot TURN OFF THE MACHINE!!!

  • this is the first sketch that has grover selling stuff. thanks for posting it.

  • Yeah I didn't realize this was the FIRST skit.
