Penn was very nice about it, but I'm not sure this guy really got the point of the show. He's got some style, I guess, but the act is basically just a quick series of fairly basic sleight of hand moves, and you don't have to be an accomplished magician to know that.
The two most amazing parts are: the backwards part (where everything is backwards, kinda like how you reverse a video), and the part where the phone turns into the newspaper.
These are classics thats why many of us can see through them, infact we don't see through them we just know.. So "seeing" through them doesn't make him shit in magic. I personally love this routine, especially the time reversed bit.
Gawd ur all such ungrateful spoiled son's a biches, the magic act was amazing and well done, i wanna see one of u trolls get up there and do that ur self. Next time dont go around talking like ur some sort of professional who knows what he or she is saying just sit ur bich ass down and enjoy the show.
@Lot2rocks It's just a guess but probably very fine threads linked to the paper and a device which retracts the thread on command. I expect the paper itself is never actually put back together but hidden behind a loaded copy.
@soccerpinkgurl You have to admit the thing with the newspaper at the intro was pretty funny. He'd move it over his face and his face would change to something different and funny each time. I wish I knew how he did that because it's hilarious LOL.
@soccerpinkgurl I'm pretty generous on the acts and will accept a well-executed "simple" trick. But I have to agree with you that it was clumsy. Shoving the phone down his sleeve like that was so obvious I'd be embarrassed to do that as an amateur.
I caught a few of his ditch's and load's. The most noticeable was near his neck on his right shoulder. You can see the phone tucked away in there pretty clearly.
This guy was great but I expected a bit more from a world champion magician as simply sleight of hand wasn't going to fool Penn & Teller, but perhaps he was just looking for some tv exposure to put his name out there, who knows.
I liked Soma's performance, but it seemed to be missing something. Taken on their own, the tricks would have impressed me, but put to music in a theatrical performance as they were, the tricks lacked the suspense->surprise I enjoy the most from a magician's act.
Best part of his act was definitely the lean shoes with reverse video simulation. Very nice. Unfortunately, the time spent on that distracted us too long from the newspaper restoration trick and made it seem fishy when it could've just been done so cleanly.
Oh, a Hungarian, aye? He's definitely been abroad for years. Couldn't have told his was Hungarian. And I can always recognize the typical bad English that is taught in this country. He's been out long enough to lose it, though. Excellent. He gets an applause for that alone.
@MattHunX One can only develop their speech like that by either living abroad, in an English-speaking environment for a considerable length of time (a few years, plus an affinity to learn the language properly), or listening to everything in English from early on, while staying in their country.
Palm. Ditch. Steal. Load. Simulation. Misdirection. Switch. Before you go on a show trying to fool Penn and Teller, watch their Youtube videos... watch?v=oXGr76CfoCs
Only remotely good bit was the phone dropping to paper at the end.

Who else, read the comments, then went straight to part Penn and teller tells it straight.

the only thing that fooled me was the paper tearing and stuff, all the cellphones were just sleight of hands and all that, not real impressed

Very enjoyable, very skillful. Not the most complex magic, but in the end a well done performance.

Not only is it kiddyish, its not even good slight of hand. I could follow how he did everything and see where he was putting everything.

This is kiddy stuff. Simple misdirection, slight of hand and black string to move the suitcase and paper at the beginning. Disappointing, really.

I'm not sure how the cell phone and torn and restored paper thing could fool Penn and Teller. Lame lame lame.
