  • what type of turtle is that? wb

  • @CaShMoN3YDiAMoND - it's a red-eared slider

  • @landongendur Thanks, and are they hard work to take care of?

  • @CaShMoN3YDiAMoND - not really... just feed them and change their water frequently. Unfortunately they don't make very good cuddly pets - more just for looking at.

  • @landongendur ok cheers bro..

  • @CaShMoN3YDiAMoND They're really expensive, not the turtle itself but the equipment, but its pretty basic. If you want one im sure theyre cheaper and more human-handled in some animal shelters

  • @apersonnamedperson thanks for the info bud..

  • @CaShMoN3YDiAMoND yesh lol

  • Its funny how when they dont bite u when they soo litte, then when they get big its lie "stay the fuck away from me" -___- I still got mines lol

  • guys i bought a baby turtle and he shell really soft i have food and a good baskign area but he just stay in water all day need help

  • i just bought a turtle that size, how long do i have until it will be too big for my 10 gallon tank?

  • @mrJBKfilms 1 inch of shell = 10 gallons of water

    2 inches = 20 gallons

    3 inches = 30 gallons etc

  • @donmacchiarolo thanks, its a little late now, but i eventually solved it. Thanks though.

  • Looks kinda terrified by the giant goldfish.

  • turtles arent supposed to be kept in water all the time. they need an area to bask on

  • @HeyMishLA - that's what the top of the brick was for.

  • @HeyMishLA Wow do you not see the brick? haha

  • hi i wanted to ask you that my turtle is not eating his feed can u help me plzzz

  • Is it okay if i put about 500ml of water..in a10cm tank...which is a little small tank..with 3 VERY TINY..about a few centimetres..about 3...turtles

  • awww, your turtle is sooo cute!

  • @ASiANDRAMAKiDD - Thanks! He sure was tiny when I first got him ;)

  • Do you still have him?

  • @ASiANDRAMAKiDD - no, I gave him away to a co-worker less than a year ago. I now run a rental-house and we have a 'no pet' policy to keep thing clean.

  • Still wonder if he is still living, haa's. Mannn, those no pet policy thing always have to ruin your relationship with your pet ): ,

  • @Neakiaro That was a lot of improperly capitalized words for someone pointing out unit discrepancies.

  • he will eat the fish when he grows up

  • well why is he in a small tank he should be kept in a tank for 10 gallon each inch cuz thats the rule of thumb

  • Guys, chill. What's done is done. He may have not known enough about turtles, true. but stop hating on him. He was 16, people. And as he said, his parents told him that they only get as big as their containment. It's not his fault, he thought it was okay, he didn't do it intentionally.

  • nice vid

  • @jessycaxx - the tank was actually only 2.5 gallons. Keep in mind this was back in 2002... I wasn't even old enough to drive.

  • awwweeee :( poorr babyy !!!!! hess scaredd

  • Oh shit oh god I have to get out of ,

OH shit here is comes get me out of here dang the fishes are too big

    oh shit oh shit HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ____THE TURTLE

  • nice :) isn't you're turtle scared of the fish ? bacause it seems so :(

  • HES GANNA DROWN!!!

  • thats making me hungry for turtle soup.

  • In addition to needing a larger basking dock and needing to be in a tank away from those large fish which he seems pretty scared of, 10 gallons is too small for an 8 year old turtle. I'd say he needs at least a 60 gallon tank with a proper basking area.

  • wheres your basking dock and the poor guy looks scared of the fish you should get smaller fish aor a new tank for you're turtle

  • @donnaluvreptles12 - the top of the brick was his basking dock

  • @landongendur that is really small for a basking dock

  • poor guy

  • normaly turtle's eat fish, wasn't it the other way around here?

  • how many years for it to grow for how many big???

  • yep mine has a lamp

  • u do keep in mind dat turtles r supposed to have dry land too, not just water??

  • That's what the top of the brick is for.

  • turtles are cold blooded animals they need a dry area to bask under warmth (sun, or heat lamp)

  • Nice tank how many gallons do ya have for them?

  • I think it was a 2.5 gallon if I remember correctly. He's now too big for that, so he's now in a 10 gallon.

  • @landongendur

WTF? if hes 8 years old.... and hes in a 10 gallon? what kind of turtle do you have, turtles by RULE need more then an 55 gallon tank, your disgusting the way your treating it, if you dont know anything about something you buy dont buy it you fucking douchebag.

  • @jessycaxx - I was always told by my parents that turtles only grow as big as their environment, so we made a conscious effort to keep in a small of a tank as possible. a 55 gallon tank and the turtle would grow massive (that's a lot of poop to clean!).

Even at 8 years old, my turtle only got to the size of a computer mouse.

  • @landongendur I have map turtles outside in a pond and you have a male map which stay much smaller than the females . Its best to have a male in a 40 gallon breeder or 55 gallon but you have had him 8 yrs so you have taken good care of him because maps are more delicate than sliders and cooters.

  • @jessycaxx well when the babys u can put the in a ten gallon tank

  • @jessycaxx Haha dumbass the 10 gallon rule doesn't go by its age it goes by it's size.

  • @jessycaxx it depens on the turtle like a full grown mississipi map only needs 40 gallon

  • @jessycaxx common musks need a 20 gallon fat ass no one listens to the "rule" its bollocks

  • my turtel does that 2 the thing when they swim into the glass. i wonder if they know their not going anywhere...

  • wow thats so cute how old is he now?

  • He'd be almost 8 years old now.

  • cool, have fun with him : )

  • oh that's good.

  • the goldfish should be his size so he can eat them

  • Well he's bigger now so if there still was those goldfish, the most certainly would!

  • Do you still have him?

  • Yes, I sure do :)

  • What do you feed you baby red-eared slider turtle when they were small? And how many times did you feed them a week??? Please comment back

  • I just fed him the normal turtle pellets (I cut them down in size). I fed him once a day.

  • u can also feed him the turtle shrimp, they really like it because when babies they are more carnivorous, my turtles didnt like the pellets before they just ate shrimp but recently they eat everything!

  • I LOVE TTTTTTTT

  • lucky my turtle is extra big and i only had it between 8 and 9 years

  • Yeah, they can get pretty huge.

  • those things get REALLY BIG

  • wow 5 years how big is he?

  • They'll eat pretty much any fish that they can fit in their mouths.

  • i'm thinking of getting a turtle but what do you exactly do to take care of it i heard it's a pain in the ass

  • The tank, filter (2 filters are recommended), turtle dock, ultraviolet heat lamp. As far as the food goes reptile sticks, dried shrimp, live goldfish, and crawfish. As for the cleaning (this is where most people say it's a pain in the ass) I recommend a siphon hose to drain water quickly and maintain it on a bi-weekly basis. fish and crawfish are food but the ones that survivehelp maintain the cleanliness.

  • if you ask someone at almost any local pet store, im sure they can show you where to get nearly everything

  • ye it is pretty hard to keep a turtle -- you need a lot of money and a lot of time --you need to do a lot of thing for them

  • No kidding 'bout the money. People can aford 100 gal tank cause they are so friggin rich.

  • i have a 250 gallon tank if you think a 100 gallons a lot???

  • do you know any one that has a 100 plus gallon tank that they dont want any more. i have a lil 10 gallon tank and its hard to find a bigger tank for cheap and i really dont want to get rid of my red eared slider

  • i have two in one ten gallon but lucky for me their still only 2 to 3 inshes big still, but yeah i know tanks are expensive, i also need a new one..

  • It's not a pain i love my turtles.. Im' a breeder! yes they do take a lot to look after them but they are awesome creatures and friends i highly reccomend getting one :)

  • please can you make another vidoe of it please

  • He's a lot bigger now. I did a response video a while ago if you want to see.

  • mine is smaller! lol

  • lol u no turtles eat gold fish sweet vid luv it =D

  • is he still alive?

  • He sure is :)

  • im geetting a turtle in 2 days and i cant wait!

  • my turtle has a shell rot because the owner of the shop is careless so I bought it and he is now receiving sunlight for 2 days,he will be back to normal again?

  • Yeah. My turtle Ana was just like that. She wasn't let into the sun or given fresh water or food for 3 months, and her shell was horrible. It took about a year, but her shell is beautiful and healthy now. Make sure your turtle gets a wide variety of foods, especially if it's a baby. Protein and calcium's good for the shell, but turtles can OD on calcium so be careful.

  • oops

i meant to say yur comment was good but i accidentally rated bad.....

    :( sorry.

    Nice comment though.

  • s'all good, thanks :3

  • (cont.) (it's ok to just drop a tablet in the water every week or week and a half until the shell's noticeably better. More than a tablet a week, though, is kinda...meh.) Also, actual sunlight's way better than a lamp, so try taking your turtle on a 'walk' to a grassy, sunny area where you can watch them.

  • I've heard that ordinary light bulbs with 60 watts are used by some people. Is it ok and it also makes my turtle's shell harden just like a UVB/UVA light or its just a heater?

  • turtlefever(dot)tk

^check it out, turtle information site and forums.

i have a turtles that size, i love then they are so small, but there hard to find sometimes in my 55 gallon tank

  • wow those fish look like my dads

  • how old is your turtle?

  • He'd be over 7 years old now :)

  • how big is he now?

  • i bet the turtle committed homocide on those fish wen he got bigger

  • Yeah, he certainly did.

  • i like turtles

  • They're pretty easy to care for, that's for sure.

  • tnx for reply

  • turtles dont harm fish???????

  • Not when they're that small. When the turtle gets bigger, they will eat the fish alive.

  • My turtle has just recently stopped eating?? i am very worried he hasn't eaten for atleast 2 weeks? he was never like this if you have any idea as to why please contact me i will be very very greatful!!!!!! ☺☺☺☺

  • Turtles can be known for not eating for weeks on end. Your little guy will start eating again when he's hungry.

  • my baby turtle stopped eating too. i took him to the vet and she said sometimes when they are really young they stop bein interested in food...and life so they starve themselves and die. she said to start feeding him live food to stimulate him. i fed him meal worms and fish and he's back to normal.

  • i must be lucky cause mine didnt eat anything then it ate GOLDFISH FOOD and then ate his food again

  • You really are lucky. My turtle eats his own food but he also eats rocks for fun. I think.

  • maybe check the heat of the home of turtle. it can't be to cold his body well slow down. maybe you can try other food. mealworms, crickets, shrimp, etc.

  • y did u pt goldfish in r u fick lol

  • so ur 22 years old and ur turtle is 6 years old now

  • Sure am. You can see a more recent video of my same turtle in the video response to this.

  • dude if u have a dog but ur lil bro wants a turtle should we buy 1

  • I don't see why not.

  • there are like 2-4 cats at my backyard and we dont have any cats btw and i still take my 3 turtles out and bask

  • how big waz ur tank cuz im buyin my lil sis a turtle and is he still alive

  • The aquarium in this video was only 2.5 gallons. The turtle is now in a 20 gallon tank.

  • did your tutle bite any of the goldfish?

  • When he got bigger, he did (and ate them).

  • fuckin sweet lol I want a turtle so bad!

  • he looks like hes afraid of the fish

  • Really? I thought the fish were afraid of him :P

  • lol!

  • go check out the video I made of my tank and turtles

  • well now all the fish are gone .

he ate the little ones bacause there weren't any more big ones.

  • Yikes. Your turtle must've been hungry :P

  • ok well I got the 40 gal and about 30 gal of water and we had a bass about 9 inches but it was in a bucket too long so it died... But I have 4 bluegill, 13 little goldfish, and like 13 minoes but they have only gone after the bluegill which were about 3.5" long and killed them but they didn't even touch any of the smaller goldfish or minoes

  • Hmm, that's pretty interesting that the turtle didn't eat the little fish.

  • hey uhmm.

i have 3 turtles in a 10 gal tank but im upgrading to a 40 and i know tht the turtles eat little minoes and feeder fish but do they eat those big guys tht u have in there?

  • If the turtle is big enough, it can most certainly eat fish that large.

  • your turtle is of the same estature like my but is a little baby

  • Awe, really?

  • yeah man

  • Hey i want to get a turtle are they good pets?? and easy to take care of as fish because i have fish and after they die i was thinking to get a turtle

  • Yes, they're very easy to care for. The only problem is that they aren't very cuddly :P

  • hey dude i was just wondering as a turtle pet owner my self u got all the right things for taking care of ur lil buddy execpt for another turtle (like it needs to be wit its own kind) like have u thought about how lonly that lil fucker is like im just saying man

  • Hmm. I've never thought of that. You're right! Are turtles social creatures? I never knew.

  • Yeah man my turtle is kinda lonely too and ive been wanting to buy it a mate, but first someone must answer my question: How do you determine whether an RES turtle is male or female?

  • from wut ive read on the internet u have to wait 4-6 years for it to mature and look for long nails ofr a mails and short tail if its a gurl

  • i want one :D

  • You should get one then :)

  • How long they live? XD

  • 20-50 years, with proper care.

  • looks delicious

  • Lol. I bet he would be. I've never eaten turtle though :P What does it taste like?

  • Probably chicken...

  • Mmm...

  • your turtle is going to die you have to lover the water half way and take 3 fish out

  • He's still living after 6 years. I have a newer video of him as a video response to this one.

  • nop...

    more water=better life (exercise)

more fish=better life (food and exercise)

  • wow and now how wrong could u be

if u really wanna argue wit me look at my tuertle videos cuz ive never loweed the water lvs then a foot and a half since i got them and they prefectly fine and as for fish weell they ate them all

  • is your turtle hard to look after

  • He is very easy to take care of. All you really need is an aquarium with a few rocks/bricks, a powerful water filter, and food. (It's even okay if you forget to feed a turtle for a day because they can live for WEEKS without food).

Right now, my turtle is big enough to eat feeder fish.

  • i dont think that this tank is an appropriate size i realise that its only small but its not big enough for the wee man!

  • The turtle is in a much larger tank now. Thanks for watching.

  • WTF?????

  • Turtles are pimpin.

  • yeah you should probally upgrade your tank every year or so, until you get to say a 40 or larger then ypou should be fine for a while I have 3 red ears in a 40 gallon

  • is that a red ear slider?

  • Yup, sure is.

  • should'nt keep a turtle in a tank with fish

  • y? cuz of little room iwht the fishes? abd water? y?

  • Well They don't have the same requirements so the fish or the terrapin will suffer. The fish will always be stressed because they are constanty trying to not be eaten. Diseseases can also be spread because they aredifferent species and are nit immune to a disease that the other has.

  • how do u tell how old they are?

  • I'm really not sure actually. Sorry.

  • Depends on what size,I buy from the dreaded Walmart because their tank set come with everything and a 20g is $100 and the 29g is $150. It comes with a filter that is really good, a heater, thermometer, lid, lights and some food. All you need is something to put in it. Good luck, it is the best price I have found so far.

  • Very nice.

  • has ur turtle ever tried taking a bite out of one of ur other fish?

  • Now that he's bigger, he's actually eaten a few. However, now he tends to leave them alone because I think he get tired from chasing them and they're not worth the energy spent.

  • Awesome turtle! Where did you get it?

  • A pet store in Regina called Pat's Pets. He was $30, which is now a steal since they're now around $50.
