no, he was drunk and fell out of a 5 story building and lived. He is notorious for his drinking. I saw him at a bar at night during tampa am and the bar was full of people and he just started pissing everywhere and got kicked out. Before that he was screaming and spitting his beer through his teeth. Pretty amazing that he can do all that and maybe even go to jail and still be perfectly smooth at skating next day like in this video and then do it all again. Danny is defenitly one of a kind.

It seems to me that this Youtube clip will reach thousands more viewers than it would if it were viewed exclusively in a vid available for purchase in skateshops. Accordingly, those viewers (oftentimes posers) will go out and buy Danny Renaud's board because they saw it here.

And the companies still win, because committed skaters like you (and me, when I was a younger man)will go out and buy the tape or DVD anyway.

Even tho i do watch a lot of skate videos i don't own yet on you tube i still buy after i watch em here on you tube cause i like em. It does help the skateboarding industry in one way but it actually makes em look bad in another way from legit skateboarders eyes, im not saying it bothers me, cause i don't really care. it actually does help it in a good way for skateboarders world wide that can't get their hands on the video.

There is another harmful aspect to the uploading of skate vids to youtube, although you make a good point benjamintruesdale. Before Inhabitants premiered, they sent a bunch of copies to shops so that they could hold their own premieres for the video. Some asshole kid decided to upload it here before the first showing because asshole kids want to boost their "youtube cred". I agree with you though. Plus you get to find out about a lot of underrated and less known skateboarders through youtube.
