Why are EVP's captured by a voice recorder, but never heard on the video footage capturing the session? I've watched many of these shows and wondered why I can't hear the voices when the show is aired, long before they review the voice recorder? The video camera is not any more sophisticated than the voice recorder.
Oh, and all electronic equipment does produce hiss (from the electronic circuitry inside). Something that is taught in electronic courses.
When you pause for a response after you asked a question, the voice recorder is not getting any more input from you and goes into high gain. My brother bought one, while trying it out, had set it on the table directly across from his wife who was on the phone. He played it back and you could clearly hear the conversation of the person on the other end of the phone call.
This would be an experiment worth doing to test the recorder's ability to amplify sounds when nobody is speaking.
One question. Why do all these paranormal shows ALWAYS have to be done at night, with lights out? The events occur during the daytime as well, yet they always investigate at night. The ONLY reason I can figure out is that they do it for dramatic purposes. Night time / darkness is eerier and makes for a better show. I discount EVP's as they are way too easy to fake. The modern digital recorders have incredible gain and could easily pick up a whisper from another room, or a voice from outside.
Before I watch part 2. The shadows at the bottom of the stairs appear to be coming from people and vehicles passing by the basement window. The speed and shape of the shadows, as well as the shadows going in the same plane each time, strongly suggest a window facing a street and sidewalk.
I am a skeptic. I look for other sources of "hauntings". I do not believe in ghosts and firmly believe every event can be explained as either a natural occurrence or a hoax.

Not bad. Shot extremely well you are a great videographer and the motion graphic / title slides are awesome. My hats off for the editing as well. But the narration and sound are so horrible. And I couldn't get past your cynical and demeaning tone. While you have valid questions and comments it just is hard to take when you a basically sounding like your making fun of the investigation process. Please note that I'd love to see more of your camera work though.

I get how entities can draw energy from the environment making a cold spot and a thermal imager showing a heat signature of a human shape. That makes perfect sense to me, as thats how they gather energy to form a shape. What I don't understand is that alot of apparitions are caught floating yet so many times footsteps are heard....someone explain that one!

With the thermal imaging cams, you asked how something be hot and cold at the same time, well it may appear hot on the thermal cam like it did in life but it has 2 draw energy from somewhere so it makes the imidiate area cold that way it can appear hot.
My opinion of Audio equipment being used in Hollywood not capturing EVP's is they use noise reduction and filtering while the recording is going on and some after also. I did get some EVP's off a "Ghost Hunters" episode from the productions audio equipment probably due to the fact it was turned up loud for us to hear what was going on at that time, I heard white noise also.
For EVP's, my best results are from Analog Tap. It has no digital filtering of background noises.

Your point about the coldspots / hotspots is excellent. I think especially in the chilly uncentrally heated houses of the past, a warm spot would have been noticeable if it was there, but it's traditionally the Cold Spot in accounts.
Sounds like you're going down the Albert Budden / Michael Persinger route a bit with your e.m. suggestions? (or are you really questioning why there aren't more places things allegedly happen?).
