There was a organized effort to push the black baby rumor by the Bush 2000 campaign. A radio station in Greenville SC helped fuel the black baby by a black prostitute rumor. The ultra conservative upstate region, where BJU is located if that gives you an idea of how conservative, was ground zero for the Rove smear machine. The Bob Jones storm troopers kicked into high gear after the New Hampshire loss, and their efforts not only stopped McCain it ruined him forever with the conservative base.
What's worse: being racist or using racism as a political tactic and then lying about it to the cameras? Also what needs to be considered is that the latter implies the former. Or at least a complete lack of conscience.
Tucker Eskew IS the man behind the John McCain black baby, push polling tricks.
They sent out a phone poll that said "If John McCain had fathered a baby with a black woman out of wedlock and kept it a secret, would that affect your view of John McCain?"
Tucker Eskew is a Rove protege, and they both learn all the racist tricks from Lee Atwater. (reagan and bush sr. version of karl rove, responsible for the willy horton ad"
That was "not exactly" the rumor Rove spread. South Carolina voters were asked "Would you be more or less likely to vote for John McCain...if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?".
Tucker did not address the issue. He talks about it as though they told the story of McCain adopting a black child as it happened. Only an idiot could not see the difference. Google "McCain love child" to get the real story. This version is desinginuous
in fact, no evidence exists at all that such calls were made by anyone. which is quite a missing link since most robocalls hit answering machines.
but when you claim specificly that rove did it, you are telling a very stark lie. the closest thing to an original source for this story, the same Rick Davis liberals are reviling and lying about this week, said in fact: "We had no idea who made the phone calls, who paid for them, or how many calls were made."
but i think the worst thing about this lie is the cold cynicism with which it is invoked by progressives.
in effect, the bring it up and feign sympathy for mccain only as a prop in a larger narrative which portrays mccain as callow and venal to such a degree that he would make nice with people who attacked his daughter racially for the chance at greater political fortunes.
and the keystone of that narrative is a lie. the other parts too; progressives never admired mccain to begin with.
sure... just like the Rove wasn't involved in the 2002 phone jamming case in NH. Just like he was not involved in the Plame leak.... He learned his trade from Lee Atwater. If something dirty is going on, and there ALWAYS is when it comes to repubs... Rove has a connection. People like you and Bush will swear he's not. but testimony told a different story in the Plame case.
Tucker knew exactly what story was being referred to. He did not address it honestly.
you're going to double down on the lie you just tried to pass? with even emptier smears?
i don't think karl rove was behind operation push volunteers actually locking registered poll-watchers out of polling places or acorn and pirg floating thousands of bogus voter registrations.
I tottally agree. People don't need this supposed story to know that Karl Rove is a complete piece of shit. Although it's probably true. Fuck McCain and the GOP.

They didn't say he ADOPTED a black baby -- they said he HAD a black baby.
Big difference to narrow minded racists who seem to be allergic to thinking.
BTW -- if this "black baby" (from India) is so 'positive' then why is she not included in that pure vanilla McCain-Palin family portrait?
Because their bigoted 'base' wouldn't like it one bit.
Both men in this video are racist to the core.
