ah well, I climbed it in 1990 and I was surprised at how much of it I remember of the climb, though there wasn't anywhere near the traffic, save for some sheep very near the top where it got really steep....I honestly don't know if I could manage it now, but yeah good times, thanks for sharing!
Fun indeed! I hear the last 3km from La Mongie has just been resurfaced, but the Luz side is still a tad gravelly. We were there 2 weeks ago - there was still snow on the road verges at the summit of the col. Hope it's warmer on Sunday. Good luck.
climbed it in 1968 - memorable. And no traffic ! Oh to be twenty again!

If only it were this easy on a bike!! Good luck on the Etape, the climb up to Hautacam is a killer too!

It's nice to remember the whole way to the summit. One year and a half later of my climb I still feel eager to stay there again!
