  • The FPS will drop by half or more while running fraps... not a smart idea to go off the display info ingame for actual FPS while playing normally.

  • omg like an average of 22 fps on enthusiast with that hd 5870???

wow, i got the same card now and i stay at around 45 fps during gaming, with all settings up max.

  • u rerenderd the frame rate

  • whats the point of having all the settings maxed out ... when you can even get good framerates ? 20 fps ? please .. thats unplayable how can you even enjoy the game like that .. for me framerates are more important then visuals ..

  • @latinstuff1 Fraps (the recording program he is using) kills FPS. I bet he gets 30-40 frames when he's not recording.

  • 1650x1050, shame on you leave that res for my gtx 260

  • What kinda FPS do you get without Fraps running, im at the beginning where the beach bar is and in a gun fight i am getting 25 FPS and when doing nothing 39. i7 950 @ 4.00GHZ HD5870 and 6GB of ram. I was getting 10 fps so trying to figure out if i have fixed my problem.

  • I played on 1920x1080 on MAX Settings - minimum 30 fps

  • my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish all te game was locked on 30 fps no more for what we need more speed then 30 fps? god dammit fps is competition factor coz the fps we are spend are money god sake 30 fps is good and fun to play with and the cards are no effort

  • @idan124 30 is not good :L

  • 0:09 DOH! XDD

  • no special situation just like it just comes one minute not when shootin or smoke

i bought the pc about 3 weeks ago i just made the drivers on the CD on i think it are the newest

  • i have a HD 5870 amd x6 core 2,8 ghz good motherboard win 7 4 gig ram an crysis runs normaly at 30-55 but sometimes it drops to 15 or 10 for about 2 min is that normal

  • @jarettpunk Doesn't sound normal, have you got the latest drivers? and what situation in the game causes that lag?

  • Hey I have an i7 950 and im getting an nh-d14 cpu cooler by noctua. How high do you think i can OC the i7 950? my motherboard is an asus sabertooth, and i have a df-85 case.... I have no idea how to overclock lol.

  • hw do you get those stats up (top right corner) in the game?

  • @DevilGene66 open cosole and type in r_DisplayInfo = 1

  • @Dimascos does that work in any game?

for instance, colin mcrae, call of duty mw1/2, crysis demo?

or just the full version of crysis?

  • @DevilGene66 i think it works only for crysis and crysis warhead

  • @Dimascos ok thanks

  • I dont get how you can play between an average of 10-20 fps... it looks aweful.

  • @prototype81 he is useing a recording software that slows the frame rate down alot

  • @prototype81 I dont get how stupid ur read desription it was recorded with fraps..

  • i have a 920 at stock, im wondering how much i can OC it without it exploding on me? I have a mugen 2 scythe, and also..... antec 900 case.

  • i have seen other youtube videos with the same or different CPU do better

  • do u use fraps? and what video converter?

  • If anyone could help me, please reply. I am looking for a gaming computer and would like to know if the one i am purchasing will run Crysis Warhead on Full HD in 1600x1200 resolution or higher. if you could please help, id gladly send you a message with the specs of the computer i am currently looking at. thanksss

  • @MrBonbonbj sure ill take a look :D

  • thats a pathetic FPS for such great hardware, money is not everything, a bit knowledge to configure everything the right way would boost the FPS alot, i hope you figured it out by now ;)

I would die for such hardware, well if that gfx card was doubled for crossfire, oh man

  • Frames -> Fail

  • Radeon shit!!!!!!!!

  • how much was ur card? Should i buy one from XFX or Asus?

  • You should just turn of AA

  • @MG5319 If you turn off your AA, everything would look choppier, it's better with 8x because everything looks more smooth and realistic. Check out my Crysis video in my profile and you'll see why

  • @njhth Dude. I know what AA does, but it's unnecessary especially when you only have 30 FPS because of it. If you run a game on your native screen resolution, it's pretty smoothend out, so you actually don't need AA. If you can run a game easily on lets say 100 FPS, than you should enable 4xAA, but 8xAA is still overkill. You don't notice that unless you are really close to objects. I will check out your video though :)

  • @njhth BTW why did you downscale your crysis montage from 1080p to 720p. Use the h.264 codec to encode the raw FRAPS avi file (if you are using that program) to an 1080p HD mp4 file. Even when I record 10 minutes of gameplay on that resolution, the output file still is nowhere near 1 GB ;)

  • @MG5319 I didn't downscale it, the raw file was like 8 gb's of 1080p for that little file. I compressed it by using Windows Live Movie Maker, I only lost very little detail, but then again Youtube takes away a lot of quality.

  • get a better monitor no point getting a card like this a for a small resolution

  • hey what do you type in console to get that thing at the top right of the screen showing your exact framerate? thanks

  • About 20 FPS... hmmmmm

  • I never use AA in games. Nothing changes drastically enough.

  • Somethings wrong with your fps it should be atleast 25-30 fps at minimum the 5870 is amazing with newest drivers.. Oh, I see you have vista you need to get Windows 7 Ultimate (make sure it's ultimate for ultimate performance lol) then you get around a boost of 10 fps

  • fucking kiddy

  • Please help guys will this run crysis on highest settings

    Intel i5 750 2.66Ghz

    4gb ddr3

    500gb HDD

    1gb ATi radeon 5870 gddr5

    22" LCD

    860wat psu

  • @MisticEditing i think so

  • @MisticEditing Yeah but without aa but it depends, how many cores does your cpu have? Dual or Quad, if its dual it might not but definitely at the setting before high, but with a quad then yeah sure

  • @MisticEditing

no you can run it on low/medium settings -.-"

  • how many fps are being decreased when u are using fraps? i have amd x4 955 3.2 + 5870 vapor-x..how many fps will i get at 1920x1080, 8x AA and enthusiastic?

  • not possible

  • Look at his speccs, how the fuck can you say it can perform better? Idiots, i bet you have no clue about video recording either. Fail

  • Wow I'm really disappointed in this setup =[ thought the 5870 was faster.

I have a Sapphire 4850 512MB, and I've played this very part of that map on 1600x900 Enthusiast at 8x AA and got 17-20 FPS... that's about what your getting with just a slightly higher res. Really would have guess it would be more =[

  • why does everyone think you need AA at 1080p!? the edges look smooth enough as it is.

  • @captainclayman they dont think =)

they just wanna show what GPU can handle

  • @captainclayman Because they are completly retarded.

    at 1080p it's perfect.

I have a 50 inch TV and it incredable with no AA on 16 x aniso and high def it's spectacular.

  • @captainclayman

    It does not.

aa helps a lot,but 4 times is enough.

  • @captainclayman try running saints row 2 on pc without aa...

  • 15 FPS ? HD 5870 ? Never...

  • @Bunox1x never? it's crysis... think again.

  • I want to know why the quality of the vid is so good? how did you encode?

  • lags..

  • how many fps without fraps?

  • low fps wow 5870 suck

  • You're just kidding right?

  • i have the 5770gb i it run same fps lol

  • @TheArea510 With the same settings and running FRAPS?

  • yes 1680x1050 same sitting but window 7 64bit

  • @TheArea510

8x AA while recording with FRAPS?

If so, then can you post the FRAPS video?

  • wait No i never record with fraps

  • @TheArea510 Well it can sometimes cut FPS by even more than half

  • Are you retarded? 1) Fraps eats frames 2) ITS 8X FUCKING AA. Know your shit before commenting.

  • @RI4NG bruh i know this shit more then you so i know what AA and everything is, im run bout the same fps so maybe my ati 5770 is a 5870. now dont commet back i dont care about this shit, \

  • You should try tp run Metro 2033: Fear The Future.

  • I'm planning to go with 2X 5850's in a Crosshair III Formula motherboard. any comments?

  • well ,thats better than 1x 5870 so that shud be good.

  • You need a 5970 or two 5870s to enjoy crysis at 1920x1200

  • Would a single 5870 be enough for Crysis maxed out on 1680x1050? And if so till which level of AA? Phenom II X4 955 BE, 4x3.2 GHz

  • @Kyuutiichan

It will be enough at 1650x1050 max, 4xaa enthusiast, you will have to overclock it.

  • Thanks, I changed my mind a litle and got myself the Phenom II X4 965 BE instead, wasn't much more expensive, hope there's a noticeable difference. :P

  • What`s the software ur using to run the thing in the upper right corner with the FPS and stuff

  • While in game, just press ~ on your keyboard and type: r_displayinfo=1 and press enter.

    ^^

  • Oh ty

  • That isn't a very good average fps at all....its almost ALWAYS under 20 fps....I could not play like that, way to laggy for me ;/

  • @xlr8r2006 this is recorded with fraps that is why the framerate is so low

  • have you vsync on or off?

  • i have got 5850 and i get 29 frames at 1920x1200 2xaa if i turn up to 8x i get 13 and 4x aa i get 24 frames so just make 8x to fourx and get 28+ frames with your 5870!

  • @

    NikolaLakic96

XD not really this was a good joke

  • i get 73 fps max and 60fps min with my Sapphire HD 5870,Phenom 965 3,4ghz,6GB DDR3 1333MHZ,on 1680x1080 with 4xAA 16XAAF...

  • yea too bad you dont.

  • @NikolaLakic96 yeah on what settings......

  • oh wut? R u serious?

  • up the resolution, and turn off AA... 20 fps on that computer is pathetic

  • i guess it was too difficult for you to read the description where i wrote that the video is recorded with fraps and that's why i get only about 20 fps.

  • @Dimascos you dont need AA at 1900x1200 & you can get higher frames = more beautiful visuals.

  • it never said anything about that... it just says "recorded with fraps"... I have seen plenty of people record with higher FPS in fraps. Your computer can perform better, even when running fraps

  • show me

  • off X8 AA in crysis, go to your 5870 utility, from AMD, turn on 8XAA from there. its the same quality. Ur frames will boost to at least 30 fps

  • it actually depends on wether you have set your AA settings to quality or performance in the catalyst center. If you set your AA settings to quality you'll get the same performance as if you used ingame AA settings; and if you set AA settings to performance, you will get a bit better performance but the quality will be a bit worse.

By the way, with ATI's latest drivers (core is also overclocked now to 900 MHz) i get from 27 to 65 fps.

  • ah interesting!

  • @Dimascos neat. :)

  • @Dimascos yes true. New driver make ATI 5xxx series better

  • @moonshiry Is two 5770s cf better than one 5870??

  • @Thet3 haha i really dont know. I dont think so... since you loose some performance when cross firing. meaning, u dont get 200% performance. only like 160% or 180%

  • @Dimascos hey bro i need ur help i can neither run crysis on vista 64 nor on win 7 64 bit can help me solve this issue not having any probs with either vista and 7 32 bit version plz help me i need ur help whenever i try to play on 64bit it show black screen and dont start the game and task manager says crysis has stopped working plz sir i need ur help.i hope u wuld.

  • @sam90495 download the 1.1 hotfix patch. the 32bin file will now become 64bin. put paul.dll in that folder and copy. start the game from Crysis64

  • No just no recording with fraps limits the fps so much and when you are recording in crysis it just makes it worse.

  • @Bulldog22031

Generally those people have ultra 8 ghz quad core processors.

    Video card doesn't mean everything.

  • @thehalflifedude

    For this game it does.

GPU is about 90% of this game.

  • thats a pretty awful fps, if your using such a high res... turn the aa off or low, if you think there's a difference.

  • AA in Crysis is not necesarry, believe me. There is no difference

  • I get more FPS on this settings : 1920x1080 Vsync on 8x AA all Enthusiast minimum 25 FPS(At the very graphic intense snow parts)..AMD Phenom II x4 965 B.E. @ 3,4GHz ; ATI Radeon 5870 1024 MB DDR5, 4Gb Ram, msi 770-C45, 500 Gb Hard drive space

  • AA kills FPS.

without AA you get 40 FPS!

  • Perfeito!

  • Great video! I might try overclocking my 920 one day, but I'm perfectly satisfied with enthusiast and 2xaa with 30-35FPS. :)

  • can i play it with a resolution 2048 x1152 and maxed out, also Enthusiast & 8xAA

    thx chingobongo

  • with windows 7 u would have much more fps.

  • guys, stfu.

You most likely can't even play it @ such a framerate WITHOUT recording.

    8xAA @ 1680... that makes 13440

    --

But on the other hand, this video proves nothing because the quality is too bad anyway.

  • Antialiasing doesn't just divide your FPS...? I'm not even going to bother explaining it but you should look into things before saying stuff like that on the internet

  • who said AA does divide fps?

"collecting data points at a greater resolution (..) than the final data resolution. These data points are then combined (down-sampled) to the desired resolution."

So it does supersample 1680 x 8, and then down again. It's no real x8 though..it's supersampling

I haven't said anything bout dividing, you should look into text of others b4 saying stuff like that on the internet. Actually I have no idea where you read that dividing thing at all.

  • what were you saying about 13440 then? (1680x8)

also that method of AA hasn't been used for yonks

  • 17 fps?!??!? My 9800GTX runs Crysis at 18-35 fps ..

  • Without fraps this game is running with a 5870 around 35-50 Fps (on my computer anyway (maxed out 8xAA 16xMSAA)) but ur like other peoples u dont just understand the gaming world?

  • Omfg

He record this with fraps dumbass

  • he also has 8xaa

  • Lol maybe he got ~15FPS cause he is recording with a screen recording program? what the hell are u guys thinking with

  • this was the last time i made a benchmark video using fraps ... people just don't seem to understand :)

  • <20 fps wtf??

  • look at this idiot whit is GTX 260 is whit fraps filmed asholle , is not the real performance what a idiot is this guy that post the video, is a nvidia fanboy this jerk

  • that is very bad!!! 15fps?????

I have a gtx 260 and got 25-30fps in settings very high on a 1920x1200 resolution

  • 15fps .. lol

  • CPU OC ??

  • yep, 4,17 Ghz

  • not impressed. very low fps. i know u are recording but still low

  • well, you shoud be, because you have to remember that it's running on beta driver, and I believe that after ATI releases their future driver update, we will eventually see the true performance of this card.

  • cool

  • lol are you retarded? its 1680x1050 and 8xAA its insane!!!

  • its not insane u tard

  • yes it is you dumb fuck! you prolly got a HD 3450 or summin yourself...

  • how much fps do you get without fraps?

  • without fraps I'm getting from 28 to 42 fps; it depends on whether I'm fighting or not.

  • Nice, but that wasn't any rather high fps you got there.

I play in 1680x1150 and 2xAA and I get higher fps then that.

  • That's beacause I'm using fraps and my AA, as you can see, is at 8x.

  • cgr3mby youre an idiot

  • Great card. :)
