I tried to put the explosion I made on my video. I followed your directions completely. Here is the problem. The explosion as well as the black solid background appears on the screen which looks awful and just gets in the way of everything. I don't get it. I'm sure I took every step.

Down on the layer where it says opacity next to the word there should be a little stopwatch and you click it to turn on. and there's a little diamond shape towards the left side of the layer bar that you click to add more keyframes...hard to describe like this sorry if I mess it up. hope you find it

Judging by the layout style, this looks to be the latest version, or, CS4. CS3 works just as well though. The difference? CS4 flows a bit smoother. That's all really.
