The part at 0:53 to 0:57 is just embarrassing for a gymnast of this level. I would not put this in the routine of a 10 year old. Her butt shaking is hilarious, but that's about all she was good for at the time.

@guiy16 lol yes the german commemtator was at the qualification really against kabaeva, like:"yes shes flexible but where is the apparatus handling?she dropped so much and comes 1. what going on here"? and in the final she was like somebody told her not to say things against her,and she excused kabaevas mistakes:"okok, she had difficult jumps while dropping the ribbon"that was a bit strange.

I love kabaeva up until 2001, then in my opinion she just got worse even though her technical difficulty went up. She was magic in Sydney but in Athens she'd lost it

Horrible cinta. Siempre caigo en una contradicción, me encanta la escuela de Irina Viner, gran entrenadora, pero es que aquí el favoritismo por Alina fue estúpido. En la clasificación Viner intervino en los puntajes para que Bessonova no se volviera la favorita para la final. Como le dan a Kabaeva 26.100 en este ejercicio y a Bessonova que lo hizo perfecto un 25.325. En la final, Viner mejoró los puntajes de Bessonova, pero de tal manera que no pusieran en peligro el oro de Kabaeva.

She is an adult now, a womans body is changing, if you look at bessonova or zhukova you can see that they are not that skinny now..well i know kabaeva had a problem with her weight during her pause, but that is her own problem. besides that if you are an athlet you need a strong body. to be too skinny is a reason why some gymnasts die

No se escandalizaron porque es algo tan cotidiano. Las competencias han sido siempre manipuladas. Espero que llegue el día en que todos sean imparciales, y así gane la mejor.

Alina era excelente, pero es tan injusto que se llevara el oro.

La trayectoria y fama no dan puntaje. Lamentablemente los jueces de esta competencia no lo saben. Esta rutina es bastante mala, hay que admitirlo.

Alina no merecía el oro, es muy buena, si, pero no para una medalla.

Por estas mismas injusticias ella no recibió el oro en sidney, y lo recibió en atenas.

Lamentable.

Do you have any of her qualifications from Sydney? I have loads of pics of her in this kinda pinky red leotard with black and purple on it and I can't find a signle video of her wearing it so I thought it was maybe from the qualifications. When do the qualifications take place? On the same day or day before the actual final? x

i only have her ball qualifications from sydney 2000.

to answer your second question:

qualifications are usually before the finals. It's probably not the day before. Maybe a couple.
