I know the full story, my point was that it was not our Mayor at fault. The Mayor of Virginia Beach is hardly at fault for the immigration problem of the entire nation. the issue is not about "immigrants". this is about "illegal immigrants" - people who broke our laws before even getting inside our country. the united states did not start by having illegal immigrants, quite the contrary. our forefathers came here legally, they stood patiently in line and waited days, weeks, months and sometimes years for legal entry.

that is creepy i was down in virginia beach that night, i was saw so many cop cars. i think the debate is more about illegal immigrants not that fact that it was a drunk driving case its the fact that an alien with 4 convictions who shouldn't be in the US who ended up killing two girls due to drunk driving and he shouldn't of been in the US because VA Beach is slacking in obvious policy making

Notice how he reported on this case because it was an illegal immigrant. When did Billo talk about those other 300+ drunk driving accidents in Virgina that occured over the last year? You really care about people don't you Bill?

If you followed the story you'd see you missed the point. If the illegal alien was not here, he cannot commit DUI resulting in death of 2 girls. Ramos has been arrested before, and never a meaningful sentence or deportation. It is about the illegal status. No one has said that any death is not tragic, but this one was preventable.

That is true, and on another site I conceded that point. However, my point is that Bill is only talking about this particluar event, and not the overall problem that the State seems to have with over 300 seperate DUI's in the past year. That's my problem.

That isn't how it happens in the real world. An incident like this shows clearly that there are criminal/mortality issues associated with illegal immigration. Brings spotlight on the negatives beyond the basic argumnent of illegal immigration. And this issue, while it ought to be just about criminal justice system has become extremely politicized.
