In regards to tax breaks; to strengthen the economy, we must take into account what is holding it together. On top, we have corporations that earn enough money to run this country collectively. The only difference is the government “governs” our profit and our deficit, while corporations report taxes (lack thereof), request bailouts, etc. Our government issues tax cuts with the intent of creating expansion and more employment for citizens, while abandoning the highest source of tax revenue.

In 2000-2010 taxation was lowered from 20% to 14,8% of gross national product GNP. (in western Europe, taxation averagely amounts to 40% of the GNP) At the same time, government expenses rose to 24% of the GNP, because of rising interest payments on US debts, the banking crisis and ageeing of the US population. Wars contributed for 10% of GNP.

American people understand that the wealthiest people in this country are becoming wealthier while their effective tax rates in recent years have declined to the lowest level in history. They know that large multi-national corporations and Wall Street firms are earning billions in profits in some cases, paying nothing in taxes. They know that military spending has nearly tripled since 1997 and that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan drag on and on and on - at great expense to our taxpayers.

In regards to tax breaks; to strengthen the economy, we must take into account what is holding it together. On top, we have corporations that earn enough money to run this country collectively. The only difference is the government “governs” our profit and our deficit, while corporations report taxes (lack thereof), request bailouts, etc. Our government issues tax cuts with the intent of creating expansion and more employment for citizens, while abandoning the highest source of tax revenue.

If U want to expand the tax rolls, the best way to do it is to cut taxes on everyone - particularly those whose wealth creates jobs. That puts people to work, giving more incomes, meaning more contribute to the government, shazam, the government revenue increases.

Bush had no problem getting us into 2 wars, recession, and a housing crisis, while raising the national debt and borrowing from social security and selling Treasury Bills to pay for it all. Now when it comes time to pay for all of Bush's debts the GOP balks. President Obama is not asking for money to fund his programs, only to pay for PAST DEBTS. A change in the tax code to pay for Bush's mess should have taken place under Bush not been left for Obama, but now that it has it still must be done.

reduction in government spending by doing nothing. Only the left wants
compromise so that they may continue to expand Government. We would rather
do nothing (and not raise the debt ceiling) to see how government
prioritizes the revenue it already gets, than increase government size
through tax increases. Without the debt ceiling being raised, Government
will be FORCED to cut spending.
