  • I must say, this is absolutely amazing!

On a side note, would you happen to have the Sheet Music for this song? I'd like to give it a try on my trumpet.

  • sweet

  • Monette?

  • Very good. I myself play the trumpet and think you did great. Keep up the great work and practice.

  • You sound great. Id love to get my hands on this sheet music.

  • Do you know where I can find sheet music for this?

  • @Twoluvum try wikifonia

  • Brilliant tone quality! But work on adding harder rhythms.

  • what type of trumpet is that? Does it matter? If your looking to get one to play jazz along these lines, what would one get?

    thanks

  • Nice tone!And great song.

  • Sound of classical player. Yes beautiful sound. Is it jazz? The telling point is that during the improvisation you lose your beautiful tone somewhat and the playing is less confident. For me you are clearly a 'reader' and a very good player! However, the jazz sound / articulation / free timing (you play the head in the centre of the beat) are all missing. Just follow the advice here and listen to the jazz greats and how the 'recreated' these standards each time they performed them.

  • Hey man I really like this vid. I was wondering if you played out of a book w/ a cd or something? cuz i was thinking of doing autumn leaves for my college audition but i don't know where a good book would be to get to play along w/

  • amazing sound!! :D

  • thankyou for that , i didnt know . keep up the good work

  • hi tpboy, im pretty new to trumpet... just a question ... At the 1.10 minute mark when you repeat the start again you go to a higher note from open keys to the 3rd one down..... Is this a tecnique or a note as im unaware yet of the 3rd key down being a note in my book chart? Hope i make sense... Can anyone answer my question ?? I think its good work by the way ..well done

  • @blast4music 3rd valve is a alternative key of 1+2 valve when u play A or E

  • @TPBOY or C#

  • @blast4music 3rd valve is a alternative key of 1+2 valve when u play A or E, somepeolpe though that easier to play highnote

  • @blast4music 3rd is alternative to 1+2, in play A or E, somepeople though that easier to play highnote

  • @TPBOY yeah cause you down 1 and a half tone just pressing the third key. but why every teacher I know and every method I ever read always tell you to pres 1 and 2 instead of just the third valve?

  • could you possibly send me a copy

  • ahm dude could u send me the background music u make play while u play???

  • i think that backing is to loud, so you trying outshout him and everything lose climate. and finally one question you're really classical player? i dont thnik so. General nice show

  • I must say I love it :) Great Job God bless U!

  • That's a really good tone.

  • i really love your sound you didnt mess up oncce! really good job!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg i play trumpet but not that good!!!!

  • that was alright but could have been much better with some things different.. find some artists you like listening to and pinch some bits until the song reflects a bit more of you. Gradually you'll develope your own style

  • Good Good Good! ;)

  • dude you should listen to more jazz,

for this tune i suggest miles davis and cannonball adderley

go to grooveshark man, check it out,

just get your head out of the books. thats all im sayin

  • @jazzcat94 tanks !

  • @TPBOY TANKS! lol

  • @TPBOY. I agree with what that guy @jazzcat84 said 50/50. Keep your heard in the books, but do not and I repeat do not stay in the books. The books is like a baby which is you crawling first. Then you go out and listen to Autumn Leave with Miles Davis, and Wynton Marsalis which is you walking. The books helps, but listening to other play the same shit your on helps a lot. I'm a trumpet player as well, I'm 26, and I still look at books. But yes, after the books to play something then listen.

  • was that a written solo? :/

  • One of your best videos! This song has more feeling than the others...good job!

  • I love your sound man, quite Maurice Andre like, beautiful!

  • very good you sound in the trumpet, i like it

  • Right in the centre of the beat ... with the vibrato happening - is why amarujd calls it classical ... it doesn't swing enough. Easy to fix by listening to more jazz.

  • nice clarity buddy great selection

  • may i ask where did you get the piano accompany music and the trumpet notes?

    than you!

  • Do you have any tips for someone trying to perfect vibrato with out shaking my fingers?

  • i use lips

  • How exactly do you do it with your lips?

  • I use my tongue, moving it in and out of the center.

  • @WiiRock77 Dont use a shake vib.

You can change the frequency of a held note by opening and closing your jaw slightly. Just do this quickly and you will produce a rich vibrato. The benefit of this is that it doesnt disturb your embuchre too much unlike the shake method.

  • @Microblitz Ah, thank you. I'll practice it when I have time. :)

  • You sound like a classical player trying to play jazz. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • very clever

  • you have really nice control, nice job. Im asuming you"ve been playing for a couple years? nice job

  • tooooo much vibrato but a good sound and I see you're playing on a monette mouthpiece, but a word of advice when improvising forget the melody try to make your own melody

  • I Like youR tone, all your notes have a nice flow. Its not like your tonguing toO much or slurring too much. I think you have a very strong tone and you should continue to play the trumpet. I just started playing like 10 months ago and i just finished learning this song. Keep up the good work!

  • Nicely done man!

  • muy bello tema!! me gusto mucho con lo tocaste..me podrias pasar la partitura? me encantaria tocar ese tema

  • Good job man, keep playing!

  • I would also like to know how long you have been playing the trumpet? :-)

  • WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUMPET

    (nice solo)

  • wonderful tone

  • Excelente!! Muito bom! Parabens pelo desempenho :-) Bravo!!!

  • ! felicitation !!

  • very good tone i think a little to much vibrato

  • very boring solo.. if u cant really improvise just write solos till u get better.

  • Hong Kong ^_^
