There are many retired Naval and Army personnel living in this area of where these two trains collided. There were tactical Police jumping off of the deep end and Mental board staff were running to the scene. It was so unorganized. Due to the LAPD acting to dangerously in this response, they ended up blocking the Fire Department passages and R.A.'s which slowed down responders of the Emergency LAFD to arrive and help the injured humans aboard the trains.LAFD were brave. LAPD were unprofessional

I heard the impact, smelled the fuel and I seen the aftermath from a trail above this right as it happened, I was hiking minutes before this wreak, right up near the road. It was mighty irresponsible for the driver to of not paid attention to his navigator. The police were a joke in town.Unprofessional.They had a big unprofessional panic attack and it made the residence all get angry since the LAPD blocked off the wrong roads in their sheer panic attacks they didn't know what to do in this time.

I remeber that there was a issue about this crash having to do with the single not working properly giving the Metro link the right of way and that it was seen by a coulpe people at the Chatsworth station of course the NTSB said that the signal's were working at the time of the crash but I dont think the whole truth will ever be told.I hope the loved ones of the people who died in this tragic event can find peace.

It has recently been revealed (in the Union website of the United Transportation Union - the outfit that represents both ME and the deceased Engineer - that he was a level 2 diabetic...that this most certainly could have played a part in this horrific tragedy...he may well have been in diabetic shock as he blew past the 'stop' indication of that last signal.

The engine of the passenger train was pushed into the first passenger car. Many people were crushed and trapped in this horrific wreck. Cadaver dogs are being brought in to search as night has fallen. Airlifts continue, several taken to UCLA Medical Center.
