  • At first look i thought this vid would be about Blackwater and other PMCs O_O

  • the decline of the american empire....yay

  • so called war on drugs? you fucking sell out

  • We also train Mexican police in drug interdiction... and multiple European countries in MOUT and security... sooo... just because you didn't know about it doesn't make it some kind of black op murder mission.

  • america can't lose to drug dealers!

  • They lost to somalia militia.

  • and under those circumstances who wouldn't retreat?your faggot force wouldn't do any better to say the least.

  • What Faggot force dick head? America has the best military in the world and they can't even find and kill drug dealers. lol

  • key word find r-tard....you pussies would never stand up to us so don't even draw attention to yourself.america is called to the highest standard around the world thats why any one mistake or anything and you jump on it finding drug dealers isn't even the militaries job.tuck your tail between your legs and exept that america's military is easily the best.

  • @Hazmat347 No, 100 Rangers/Delta had a DRAW with 10,000 Somali Militia.

  • very insightful report! =)

  • they are illegal so people want them...

the americans may indeed be helping the ecuadorians with the schools, the firetrucks, bla bla, all with the help from the money they riase from shipping the cocaina outta colombia my friend. A CIA op shrouded in a military cloak....wot a crock of mierda eh...

  • That fact that drugs are illegal is a joke in the first place.

  • your a joke,I mean....you do drugs.

  • @renegadekav Scaaary people on this planet.

  • they are producing coca leaves because they have been doing that for a long time, trading it with another kind of food. if they stop working with coca they would not receive the products that they were use to. they are not making billions with the leaves like others with cocaine, you may understand that (like you said) they're (only) farmers.

  • A good question to ask is why are the farmers in Colombia producing coca? My tip is for everyone to check out what Noam Chomsky says about Colombia and US policies there.

  • My tip is to just ignore anything Noam Chomsky says.

  • I am an american and I just think its sad that most citizens of every country know very little of what our governments are involved in. That being the governments intention of course. Who knows what the truth is anymore?! Its like we the majority are controlled by a bunch of rich, greedy, power hungry jerks. Im 20 years old and this is the first time ive heard anything about this.

  • It sucks for the common people of this world, we all get drug into a bunch of crap by our so called leaders. This world is a sad sad place. In the end justice will be served and the one true God(the God of Abraham) will reign.

  • pizarroluigi I fully agree with you, only Al Jazeera would broadcast things in such a biased way as to make the US look bad. I mean it's not like the US need help now do they? They are quite capable of making the world know time after time that they are a terrorist nation. Down with Al Jazeera, long live those who don't make the US look any blacker than it already is. Honestly I doubt it's possible.

  • How is this different from how our news networks (CNN, Fox News, etc) make the middle east look? I was in the military and got to see how unpopular we are around the world. From what I've seen so far, Al Jazeera is less biased than most of our news networks are.

  • Naturally, al jazeera would air this. Any attempt to make the USA look bad.

  • so does that make it false, or fictional??

  • just bypass any nations sovereignty

  • The problem is the US Government in the past has caused a lot of trouble in other Countries and so now every good deed is seen as interference for US ends. A transparent Government would alleviate this sort of misconception. Maybe.

  • In El Salvador, Guatemala, and Chile the governments were found to be guilty of over 90 percent of the acts of terrorism and other acts of repression fighting 'rebels'. Why would this be different in Colombia?

  • I never knew we were operating out of that region. As an old light infantry soldier it is good to see the US doing good things in Latin America. It also goes to show just how much other countries look at America and see what a lot of us here in the US don't want to recognize. But all in all a good story and gave a great overview for me. Thanks.

  • Job well done Cpt. Rushing. HAND SALUTE! HOOYAH!

  • It seems to me that the politicians in Ecuador who are against the American presence are just a bunch of charlatans trying to capitalize on public sentiment and win votes.

  • Well, that is how democracy works. If the people want the Americans out, the politicians should follow the wishes of the people.

  • just what i was thinking....

  • Just heard your talk in Olympia - pretty amazing stuff you have to offer Josh. This is great work as well - like someone else mentioned, I've never heard a story about the Ecuadorian take on the military base there - let alone heard of the "base" there. Great work! Keep it up! We need more like you!

  • Colombia is not a poor country! you should research friend!, and it is not thirst for cocaina. And sure, the US government has to do what they can to help to stop drugs, after all the US is by far the greater consumer of caocaina in the world. Colombia produces cacoaine because the US is too much of a market. (forgive my english is not good)

  • Ok, those funny planes with the circle on top are called AWACS. Their only job and capability is to track aircraft. They have no other function. And as the Colombian FARC has no planes, they would be of exceedingly little use in Colombia. This should have been made clear by the reporter, who I am beginning to suspect of some rather strong bias.

  • Having said that, this is by far the most in depth reporting that I have ever seen on this fascinating subject. So kudos to the reporter for having accomplished what so many of the big time news companies fail to do on a regular basis: report. Now if he could only tell it straight...

  • I think the implication is that the FARC is deeply involved in the drug trade and while they do not have military planes, the drugs are often exported on small aircraft. The AWACS are used to track these small aircraft and are therefore involving the U.S., and Ecuador by extension, in the war in Colombia. This isn't necessarily my personal view, it's the view of the critics of the base. Any uncertainty in the story on either of these issues is entirely my fault.
