  • 2:46 why the hell do she try anyway? xD

  • Could someone please tell me what martial arts style Zhang Ziyi's character is doing here?

  • @rootbender yeah, wire-fu wushu.

  • @wussupdooder It's based on a real style, something I know you wouldn't have heard of anyway. I am aware of the special tricks and effects employed in wuxia film, but you probably can't appreciate that and insist on the artless realm of UFC, so piss off.

  • 3:14 I often wondered if that was part of the curse, or reason people can be corrupted by using that sword. Since it's indestructable, the consistant vibration can rattle the users brain, and cause some psychological issues.

  • All that fighting for a cup of coffee

  • @gomez0119 i think the answer to that, my friend, is "disciprine"

  • @sadykhovful That is so mean. I bet we all sound extra funny speaking Mandarin/Korean/Japanese/etc.

  • @mllenakia go to room and study!

  • @sadykhovful LOL You are shameless :)

  • @mllenakia1 i actually rly <333 azns. especially pretty ones. and super especially the ones that can fly :) i just wish somebody would explain to me this flying away phenomena so i can sleep at night.

  • about 5:09 - 5:10 "why thank you". and i've never seen this movie but wtf is up with the hotter chick just flying away haha that seemed random.

  • If you listen to a conversation her and Zhang's characters have near the beginning of the movie, Shu Lien says something like - "I'm not very good at using a straight sword" - so the fact that the girl's pissed her off so much, she resorts to using something she's not good with ... and still WHOOPS HER ASS, just makes me go - Oooooooohhh.

  • Did she just fly away at the end? LOL

  • @gomez0119 I'm pretty sure these are stunt doubles trained in maritals arts doing the fights.

  • @gomez0119 Because they are very patient and are non agressive when it comes to learning their own form of art. They created martial arts and that is why they are very good at it. They study and practice for years, like here in america we love art forms like painting, drawing, theatre, and dancing. They perform at high levels and the beauty of it is substantial. Thus making it a high quality and an interest to everyone. They are people of nobility and their fighting skills are proof of that.

  • 3:49- you bitch! why do you keep cutting up all my shit!? lol

  • they were great here and in memoirs of a geisha! :)

  • if only power rangers stood up to this level...

  • NIKITA WILL GET HER ASS WHOPPED ON THIS""!!!

  • @TheJdott lol, i know right, so will alex, but mainly nikita

  • Lol I love 2:48

  • This is better than watching Divas...

  • @gomez0119 because theres 1 billion of them, and odds are, a select few will own at something. Plus they have good gene pool and a culture of hardwork and dedication.

  • Such a shame about Zhang Ziyi, that display of lack of decency on the beach with that Warner Bros. kike. Marrying for money. Total loss of respect for her... :(

  • @lileichmann true. she's a sellout.

  • @lileichmann It's her life. I'm sure all your choices in life were 100% agreeable to everyone as well. Like that nice word "kike". :P

  • @Rumblingsauce I like it too, it's Yiddish for "circle". The story of Jewish arrogance even upon arrival to a foriegn land. When asked by immigration to mark their name with an "x" denoting their arrival to Ellis Island, they refused because they "x" resembled a cross. A tolerant people indead. As for ZZ she is a public figure whom is a figure head of upstanding Chiese culture and arts. When she acts with such disregard, it's heartbreaking. "It's her life"... The American only knows "self".

  • @lileichmann So, she was on the beach with "that Warner Bros. 'circle'"? As for the "American only knows self" deal, it is you who disagree with what she does. It is your thoughts that show her as having a lack of decency. You try to push your own ideas of what is and what is not decent the same way I disagree with your statement. I don't believe she lacked decency. They are opinions. You want her to act the way you feel is right, and I want her to act the way I feel is right.

  • @Rumblingsauce ...it was a public beach and he had his face in her ass. I didn't "push" anything onto anyone, I simply made a comment... when was there ever force envolved? It doesn't matter what either one of us think, there is a certain standard that all the world holds and having your "lovers" face in your ass on a public beach is accepted as (leud conduct). Your logic is not even rational, i.e. "decency is only a matter of an individuals opinion"? Go play some hippy jamband BS and fuck off.

  • @lileichmann kike's and hippies. You sure do like throwing names out. I will go play my hippy jamband BS. Celebs aren't society. They are the minority of society who makes more money than most people. Yet, they are actors and should be the figure heads of their society? I feel bad for anyone who looks at America's actors and judges its entire people and culture off them. They certainly don't represent me or the friends I know. Sorry if I offended you but I just disagree with your statement.

  • Celebrities endorse products, social groups, and systems of thought. If you don't think that Americans or any other nationality don't emulate what is seen on TV and in magazines, than you are very foolish. The Britney Spears', Paris Hiltons' Michael Jordans' etc of society are looked to as role models, as pitiful as it may seem. And to say that is not the case is completely obsurd. We judge companies by their product so should we judge a country by it's product. A tree is known by its fruit.

  • @gomez0119 cause the men have small dicks? o.O

  • it is both surprising and SHAMEFUL that a coming of age story for girls/women has not been duplicated in western cinima.

there is NOT A SECOND of this duel that does not have some underlying metaphor.

i blame ALL 3 abrahamic religions and their effects on our society.

  • talk bout taking ur claws out

  • @gomez0119 yes, asians fly very nice :P

  • best fight scene EVER!

  • @gomez0119 'Cause they're awesome (a)

  • Favorite Scene!

  • The woman in the white, I KNOW HER!

She greeted me at the rub n' tug last week.

  • @ontariobuds Cool story bro

  • This how arguements are solved in China..

  • judging by how their hair moves in the final part of the fight, I think they recorded it really slowly and then sped it up with a voice over and sound effects put on afterwards.

  • @Cardonyuko idiot

  • @bagsekboy87 elaborate please or else you will sound like an idiot yourself.

  • THE SINGING SWORD!

  • @gomez0119 Because they apply themselves through selfdiscipline and work hard to achieve. Better moral values it seems than most americans have.

  • epic

  • I want a girl who can do that: Fighting and Flying,...LOL

  • They fight like a girl:-)

  • If that's how asian women fights, I don't want to fight a man.

  • @vodorf

    asian women> asian men

  • @gomez0119 i wouldn't say EVerything lol....

  • @gomez0119 because they have discipline

  • michelle yeoh does wushu??? dui lian??? anything??? i didnt know about her!!!

  • These aren't your everyday kitchen housewife's...

  • This is your standard saturday night catfight in China.

  • @gomez0119 Because their Asian. XD Their naturally good at everything. It's like instinctive. lol

  • epic?...

  • hottest cat fight ever...

  • lol people arguing over whether 'dao' means knife or sabre. context, folks, context. nobody's talking about kitchen knives here. you don't go to a river bank to take a loan do you....

  • @gomez0119 Except for fucking ...

  • @SilentBat how would you know ? how come asia has the biggest population of all continents ? Have you seen every asian fucking another to say that ? Stop being so stereotypical.

  • @adrianlindsaylohan They suck. Their dicks are like 3 inches bro.... they fuck just to populate the country.

    Im guessing ur asian..?

  • @MrGeneralKenobi Do you have valid source of information to say that ? I'm pretty sure they don't fuck to populate the country, there's a lot of reasons for someone to have sex. You're not even sure if all asians have small dicks. Also, if you're smart enough, you'd know that the length don't matter, it's the thickness. How would you know anything ? I'm guessing you also believe in nonsense like "white people can't rap" or "black people can't swim." Your statement is filled with assumptions.

  • @adrianlindsaylohan Whoah calm down bro. Fighting over the internet isn't gud for your ego. As I have no interest in this nerdy debate ima just drift to another video.....have fun !

  • @MrGeneralKenobi Yeah, you have no interest in this debate 'cause you know you can't win. So just drift to another video, avoid the loosing argument, pretend like you don't care, very mature. Next time you wanna inform someone about something, make sure you actually know what you're talking about.

  • @MrGeneralKenobi Nerdiness is good for the soul:)

  • @eizhowa xD

  • they trained wushu to do this scene right????? if yes....SOO HARD TRAINING!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i love this movie in chinese.......is so perfect!!!!!

    every chinese movie.....people can fly

  • @gomez0119 what about driving???

  • why can't people fight like this in real life?

  • 4:00 Wait, what about tapioka?

  • I love Michelle Yeoh in this scene; she is truly talented at wielding various weapons.

  • Wish i could fly like that........

  • HA HA what a funny name you have.

  • WOW

  • the sound in this film, from the sword clangs down the rubbing of fabric, is so expertly done. absolutely brilliant.

  • BITCH BRAWL!!!!! my favorite fighting scene in any movie growing up.... :)

  • Sometimes you can't separate the dance from the dancer. They are one.

  • wow, there just meant to be in movies together. lol

  • best fight in movies ever

  • @hfdpayner Really? Is that what you understand the movie? Poor you, what narrow minded.

  • @belledejour15 why dont you tell me then oh masterful one? What is the true message of this film

  • she has the sword for a split second and then she gives it back?!?! wasnt that main point for her to get the sword back? lol i love this movie.

  • EEEEEEEEEEPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC

  • Do you think Yu Shu Lien would've won if she had been fighting with killing intent?

  • @NanaTheDwarf I think she did win because she has the broken sword to Jen's throat. And later on Shu Lien explains to her housekeeper that she didn't kill Jen cause she just didn't have the heart to. But man does she have amazing skills and with all those weapons!

  • @NanaTheDwarf with out a doubt...... just look at the fight...

  • 2:47 she used the force

  • Wushu is the best Martial Art in the World!!

  • Michelle Yeoh @ 3:00 - 3:14 - I sometimes feel like this! :S

    ARRRGH!!!

  • Do You REALIZE how long it took me to sharpen those damn things ?And by the way...That's how you chop an onion! See 1:58-2:05

  • Do You REALIZE how long it took me to sharpen those damn things ?

  • 4:19 Love it: after 4 minutes of the most incredible fight sequence, you realize "now Michelle Yeoh stops playing around".

  • michelle yeoh is a very sexy mature lady:)

  • 2:47

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Rated PG-13 for martial arts violence, some sexuality, and mid level LULZ.

  • the jumps make me laugh because it's so obvious she's being pulled up

  • I know this is random, but the first time I watched Toilet light(which I hated) and I saw the main characters climbing trees the way the did, I thought of the scenes of this master peice. had me going....you know it be cool if they just said fuck the love story and busted out epic kung fu fights with swords and arrows in the Forrest, it would the movie a little more tolerable....plus it be the only time Id accept westerners using wire fu and asian martail art weapons...it works in fantasy..

  • Damnit I hit dislike by accident. This is my favorite sword fight in any movie and Jiao Long is the hottest girl on the face of this planet

  • I think they need to find a new blacksmith for there weapons.

  • The fuck? She flew.

  • Michelle Yeoh could kick Ziyi's ass anyday!

  • MMA is mixed rodeo clowns and the only reason people dont fight like this unless they have to is because of all the damage you can sustain by the time you're 40.

  • Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - Because fuck physics

  • 1:10 where did she get the extra sword?

  • When that lady freaking whipped out two swords from one...."Shit just got Real."

  • Michelle Yeoh did a GREAT job in the Mummy 3! Even though the Mummy 3 was worse than the first two mummy movies.

  • when did the mummy three come out?

  • @MissKimmi15, 2008.

  • @ereslocomotion really? ooo i am soo watching that!! thank uu <3

  • Her sword is almost as good as a Hattori Hanzo samurai sword

  • @popoufo hattori hanzo was a ninja!

  • holy shit she can fly ;O

  • One of the best and sexiest duels in my opinion.

  • The Green Destiny sword is only as powerful as it's user. Return to the hand of Li Mui Bai.

  • Best duel ever!

  • ok who is really the better fighter here? one just happens to have an indestructible weapon is all lol

  • @maxlr812 Michelle Yeoh character by far is better. She's a legend in the film and has many more years of experience. As you said the only reason the other girl is any good is because of the sword she's using.

  • @StinkyGreenBud If your judging based on the actor's talent, don't confuse character with actor. You're missing the point.

  • @Sei1863 No you didn't read my comment very well. Did you see me put in "character" I know what you are saying.

  • @StinkyGreenBud And then you confused them, talking about Zhang Ziyi's character rather than the actor herself. She's just as good as Michelle Yeoh and it shows. It has nothing to do with the sword she's using, that's a plot point, not an actor's flaw. Like I said, you're confusing them.

  • Take notes michael bay this is how you do action, give us some wide shots and show us what is actually going on you dumb fuck.

  • @ mastergradeone you're fucking spot on LOL

    case for plagerism?

INCEPTION is by far the BEST FILM of 2010

  • this is what a catfight is supposed to like :-)

    amazing choreography //stupendous film making

one of my favourite films of all time.

  • @unimport this is no catfight. this is a fight. period.

  • eye candy in every level.

  • ........ she flies away.

  • @MrWriter95 umadbro?

  • The best part is when the sparks start flying

  • HAha at the end she just fly's away.... Peace nigga!

  • Ace scene. End of the line.....

  • Yes! Thank you Quentin. Finally, female action movie characters who kick ass while fully and conservatively clothed. Don't get me wrong, I love Tomb Raider and Charlie's Angels, but the wardrobe in those films (or rather, lack of) were RIDIC.

  • Imagine sex with these two. :D

  • those hook/sword things are AWESOME!!!!

  • Am I the only one who was mad that the twin dao blades were broken? I really liked that sword.

  • This scene should have over 2 million views. Awesome for: fight design, cinemaography, and furthering the narratives of these strong women characters. I always wondered how this film was received by female audiences in different countries and cultures. When it came out here in the US, I just remember people going on about the wire work, and some complaining about CYF's character, calling him soft [duh, not a HK shoot-em-up]. I'm a guy, and think that this was really a female driven film. A+

  • best fight scene ever

  • lol @ 2:50

  • Wonderful, kinetic attention to detail in this scene-- it's all magic and make-believe, but fantasy destruction rarely feels so real and physical in movies these days.

You can't create this stuff in post!!!

  • Can someone PLEASE explain where Shu Lien's second sword comes from @1.40?

  • @lerriano The sword she had was two identical swords that were connected into one thicker sword. She just disconnected them.

  • @DemitriusWilliams

It sure doesn't look like it at 0:38. o_o

  • @lerriano shes useing a double broadsword

  • @jingwu42 Ok, actually first off the weapon she's using at the start is a chinise sabre, or dao, as it's known.

Secondly, look at the scene where she picks it up and it is quite clearly one sword. Not even one that splits into two. The handle isn't wide enough to be two swords, and if it were then there's no way she could have weilded it. and note the ONE blade at 0:38.

Now have proper go at explaining where that second sword comes from and don't waste my time.

  • @lerriano actually.. the common american term for 2 swords of her variety would be a double broad sword, Dao means knife not saber, the term for this sword in chinese would be Shuang dao look it up , second of all this is called a movie,..ever heard of one? this dose not even take place in ancient china, can you believe it? with these new facts in your brain, you should know anything is able to happen in them with out explanation, so,..this is not a waste of time because you asked,..

  • @jingwu42 Try putting dao into a search.

    You'll get a chinese sabre.

    Guess what. You're wrong.

  • @lerriano Dao is chinese for "knife", though Dao in kung fu films most often refers to a machete like weapons. Jian means "sword", and in kung fu most often refers to the straight, double edged Green Destiny style swords.

  • whoa wtf.

  • lol *flies away

  • @RusconiDom Smoking-hot-Chinese-babe. I'm not sure, exactly. zii yee rhymes with me and jhang rhymes with Hong Kong. In proper form Chinese surnames are first so its Zhang Ziyi. But friends and family would call her Ziyi. I'd call her Soda pop as in 'What's hot, Soda pop?' Then she would say 'Wo' and touch her butt and make a sizzle sound. :-)

  • One thing about this Chinese spear business we see in all these Wushu movies were they weave and bob around the spear thrusts - just stick it in their abdomen, right in the seika tanden, and be done with it.

  • Man oh man, what I wouldn't give to fight these two. I would be beat down for sure but it would be so worth it.

  • I wish I could just float in and out of a room as I please lol, people would fear me off of that alone.

  • 2:49

  • Syncs up perfectly with the Theme from Mortal Kombat for some odd reason.

  • beautifully directed fight sequence. Love Wushu! See, this is where American film makes keep failing. Get doubles or train the actors to do the specific scenes you need so you can have wide shots, and not this up close, bull crap, quick cut edit junk. This is what a fight scene should look like. Not shaky cameras with one punch or kick edits.

  • best.fight.ever

  • Why can't the fight scenes in Star Wars be more like this......

  • @istheshiz because it's kungfu

  • @istheshiz cause americans tend to play the roles and the person actually trained to fight gets the fewest lines and has to wear the stupid makeup.

  • @istheshiz because starwars is amazingly better.

  • @istheshiz star war suks anyway...

  • @istheshiz 2 be honest Id accept this in a star wars(especially the Jedi) type film more than in one of Hong Kong's so-called "Historical-Drama" films....look if you wanna have people flying around in a Kung Fu Film go ahead, but stic the word "fantasy" in their as well so poeple can suspend their disbeleif a little bit more....otherwise it just looks, silly

  • @darkservantofheaven This is a wuxia film, not a historical drama. Wuxia is a "fantasy" genre". There is little difference between wuxia and, say, the Harry Potter universe.

  • @kenshinc I doubt many Americans know that term, I barely found out about it the term 2days ago(I really should delete the comment) and I am looking into several Wuxia films, watching them and I am greatly appreciating them more and accepting them more, at first when I did not know the term, I considered films like this to be silly, and thinking that they take themselves to seriously, but now that I have a little more knowledge on the genre, I have a higher respect for it now.

  • @darkservantofheaven It's great that you're exploring wuxia. Open-mindedness is cool! :) Many Chinese fans consider wuxia an unique genre onto itself, in part because there is *some* real-life basis to the martial arts. I disagree; I think it's a form of fantasy. Wuxia used to be seen as "fairytales for adults" and kind of looked down upon, like the fantasy genre as a whole before Lord of the Rings/Harry Potter cemented its status as serious business around the globe. Happy for the respect now.

  • @kenshinc but hey, how awesome would it be if they made a film with the high flying martial arts of a Wuxia film and mixed in the magic and sorcery of a harry potter type of film, throw in some dragons(have not seen the eastern type of dragon used in film much)

  • @darkservantofheaven they have tried to mix magic with martial arts before (eg. The Legend of Zu, The Promise/Wuji). It's always turned out badly because HK/China don't have the technical expertise to pull off the special effects. For all Hollywood's faults, it's leagues above everyone else in computer graphics/visual effects. Chinese filmmakers have the money and the will to make a Chinese LotR/HP; hopefully they can acquire the technical know-how soon.

  • @kenshinc after doing some reading on Wuxia story telling as well as some Asian history, Im thinking of scripting a comic utilizing it, maybe in the future I can see it realised in film...

  • i love how this defies ALL the laws of physics!

  • Oh yea, and Shu Lien n her spear was my FAVE part!

  • Great Quality, thank you for the vid! Love this movie. can you post the Night Fight with Jade Fox n the Dad w/ Daughter fight? Thanks again

  • get chills when i see this. just wanna jump around like a ninja:"hija ! huja ! haja ! ouch av ! damn my knee.."
