I'm planning to sell coffee at a weekend market stall (generally places that require portability) and I was wondering whether, in place of a commercial machine, can prosumer espresso machines handle churning out about a hundred coffees in a day? thanks.
@maradroit I assume you will need something NSF rated for this? If so, some great options that will meet your needs are the La Spaziale Mini Vivaldi, Nuova SImonelli Musica and Nuova Simonelli Oscar. - Kat
Great reviews and vids ladies. Really helpful info. Curious about these prosumers, what do you think is the most affordable (bang for buck) squarish, chrome, machine for home use? Comparing the Alex Duetto, Brasilia, Quickmills and Rocket Cellini?
There's a pretty gig difference in price, Alex being top of the food chain.
@joesl8 Duetto is rad if you want to have that temp control with the PID; if that's not important to you, then any of those Hx machines will do well -- we don't carry or have tested the Brasilia, but the Quick Mills and Rockets are super similar, you're really choosing on looks at this point (in my opinion). - Kat
One thing that would be cool Kat (no pun intended) when reviewing the height of these bad boys is to help us to understand the (a) the height of each after you've got some cups stacked on top, and (b) help us to understand what sort of clearance is needed to refill the water reservoir. In my case, I have cupboards that most of these will fit under, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to refill them easily.
Okay... But hey... today i got my espresso machine.. its like a Delonghi E 190 i think... but its named Bifinett.. I spend 100dkk (20$) on it, so it aint expensive at all... i have allready made 4 cappuccino's today on it ^^ - Kennie
We talked about it but we would need to find the right machine; we have a lot of old machine carcasses here but not many of them are very sexy. Maybe if we run across an old antique on a trade-in/recycle, we'll mod it :) - Kat
I have an idea.. you could send me one of your commercial machines for free... I pay the shipping... then i could remove the inside of it, and keep it, and then send the shell back... Dosent that sound like a great deal? :). lol..
