When given the facts about Iraq, Lieberman's "conviction" to stay the course is absurd.

As a Senator he must know reconstruction in Iraq has halted because a lack of funds. The billions of dollars spent in Iraq goes towards security and building 15 mile permanent bases. Neither helps Iraqis. If we aren't helping Iraqis and the majority of Iraqis don't want our help, then why should we stay?

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call liberman a traitor, but he certainly is looking for in the interests of Israel. He's Jewish so, why shouldn't he? Hell, if I were Jewish I'd take a pro-war stance too, to a certain extent. However, I think that the Republicans are more than a little bit nutty to "invite" Liberman to joing the Republican party just because he's pro-war. Liberman's core ideology is far too removed from that of the Republican party--he wouldn't fit in.
